Patti 's getting an electric oven!!!!!!!!!!

Embrace it Patti!!! (I too had to convert)...s'ok - don't panic :D

I'm not even a regular on this thread, and I probably didn't even do it RIGHT, lol! :P

I love the creeping, insidious effect of the capitilizing

OMG - Richard Branson on Ellen!!!!!!!! Nicola doesn't know that I am in LURVE w/ Richard Branson.......

Nicola does now

Nicola thinks he is suitably rich ( :o understatement!!) for Susie.... not married :D - but long term partner

Got a horsey smile though hasn't he?????.......I suppose you could learn to live with it though :lol:

...hope the glutening(?) passes quickly :)

So, she'll go under our big chestnut tree out back.

Hey! Why don't we bury her with Nick the budgie, come spring in our schoolyard? I wonder if she'd like this... <_<

Great idea!!...the whole circle of life...she'll be putting some nutrients back into the ground...plant some bulbs with her!!!!!!!! ;)

Nikki, you must give me some insight, why do people HATE Heather Mills with such a passion over there?

Umm, long story really - - but can you say Gold digger, pushy fantasist , ex porn star....

She just could never get the public to warm to her - the public were always suspicious of a young pretty thing marrying a national treasure as Paul McCartney...his own kids hated her.

...And , she really doesn't help herself harping on about how much 'charity' work she does or how much money she donated to 'charity'. <_<

Happy Valentines Day, sillies! No celebration of Valentines HERE, lol, but I thought I'd just pass along the best wishes to all of you anyway. :P

Well, a decision has been made.....(drumroll)....I'm going with an electric stove! I know you've been on the edge of your T seats so I wanted to let you know

...

Donna--your capital U  We're growing on you--admit it :D

Oh okay. Yay on your stove....that's what I'll be getting too.

I love the creeping, insidious effect of the capitilizing

Yes, amazing! Didn't realize I spent THAT much time reading over here, lol.

Well Sillies, my hubby is still sick...I wish he would get better.

Hi Patti! I was wondering what you were up to today, good thing you made your choice, it will be back to regular meals again soon.

Hi Amanda! Yes--regular meals :D We are already tired of microwaved potatoes, so this morning I dug out the crock pot and am doing a pot roast. Good thing I made bread over the weekend, too ;)

That's exactly my stove, Patti. It's been great. All of your cookware has to be completely flat on the bottom, however, or they will heat unevenly and will wobble back and forth quite maddenly.

Oh!! SO exciting!! This is the longest, most gruelling race in the world...makes the Iditerod look like a stroll in the park. Year-'round training, millions of dollars in corporate sponsorships, and big money for crossing the line first. Very few women have attempted this Sisyphean feat, and I believe Michelle was the first woman to crack the top ten, last year. She did it in thirteen days.....that's in 21 hours of darkness, -40, over mountain passes and across frozen lakes, with just her and her soul mates--her fourteen beautiful huskies. Unimaginable!

Yes--flat bottom pots--that's what the very nice appliance lady said--and she also said no glass because glass scratches glass. Will I need to learn to cook all over again?:lol:

Wow--Michelle sounds like an incredible athlete. Very impressive :D

Umm, long story really - - but can you say Gold digger, pushy fantasist , ex porn star....

She has always seemed like an attention seeker to me, too. I really don't know too much about her, but on DWTS last year when she was eliminated, she got kinda snippy.

Yay on your stove....that's what I'll be getting too.

Cool :D

Well Sillies, my hubby is still sick...I wish he would get better.

I wish he would too, Amanda :(

my sister sent to me

The Husband Store

A store that sells new husbands has opened in New York City, where a

woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a

description of how the store operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value

of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper

may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the

next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first

floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.

She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign

reads:

Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

"That's nice," she thinks, "but I want more."

So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good

Looking.

"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking

and Help With Housework.

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help

with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the

sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on

this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to

please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

PLEASE NOTE:

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives

store just across the street.

The first floor has wives that love sex.

The second floor has wives that love sex and have money and like beer.

The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited.

Our mini-summer-in-Feb ended & I'm back to needing a coat :(

Oh!! SO exciting!! This is the longest, most gruelling race in the world...makes the Iditerod look like a stroll in the park.

 tho I can't comment on the relative level of gruelty, the link's 1st page says 1000miles & I recall the Iditerod as 1100-some. (Onety-one-hundred)

<that was my Alaska connections talkin'>

No doubt an INCREDIBLE feat to compete in either. I bet we Americans just know about the Iditerod since it's entirely on our soil snow and it comes w/ that cute diptheria story.

Of course, I've never personally known anyone competing in either.

Em! You must be so proud!!!!

Husband store is hilarious!!!!

Happy Valentine's all!!!!

<that was my Alaska connections talkin'>

Hey!! I can, I think, comment on the comparative gruelty  ....

The Iditerod is 120 miles longer, but for a couple of reasons it is an "easier" race: There is a great deal of outside help and "luxury" (wood cabins to sleep in every twelve hours or so, food stops, etc.), the terrain is not as difficult (I believe there are two mountain ranges to traverse, while the Quest has four) and the route is on fully groomed trails.

The Quest mushers, if one can imagine (!), spend most nights pitching their own tents, feeding their dogs and themselves with food that they must have packed, and sleeping on the lake or mountain. Unbelievable and crazy! They make three overnight stops at veteranairy centres, where the dogs are checked to make sure they're okay.

Okay!! WAY too much info....

Happy Valentine's all!!!!

And to you, too, Tom! You sound mojo-ish...like it's reinstalled.... :)

But I have read enough up there to know the Iditarod doesn't go on groomed trails, much less fully !!!!

Still, I must agree, one would have to be just sorta wacko  to do the Iditerod and completely committable to do the YQ

Okay, okay... ;):P I'll have to email BIL, who has done the Id. Was sure he'd told me that he chose this race the first time he attempted anything huge and gruelling because of its long areas through towns with maintained trail. EMILYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

You are officially driving me BanAnaS w/ this!!!!!!!:lol:

Yukon Quest is undoubtably insanely difficult so pooh-poohing the Iditerod is comPLETEly unnecessary!!!!!

Now we've gone from "fully groomed trails" to that they're on trails while in the handful of Alaskan villages along the 1100+ miles??????

Of course, in either race, only the lead sled has no choice but to break trail.

I'd say the biggest differences, making the YQ much more grueling, would be not having cabins at checkpoints, having to bring ALL your (and dogs') food and twice as many mountain ranges.

If black seed oil is working for his Afib, stick to it, but if not, I can say that ablation therapy is no big deal--my mother was out of the procedure in about 1 hour and went home that evening, and had zero negative effects from the treatment. PS - I would recommend that your husband get an Apple watch to monitor his Afib--there is an app and it will take readings 24/7 and give reports on how much of the time he's in it. Actual data like this should be what should guide his treatment.

This happened to me as well. What’s weirder is that within a couple hours of taking paxlovid it subsided. I thought maybe I got glutened but after reading your post not so sure.
    • Mari
Hi Tiffany. Thank you for writing your dituation and  circumstancesin such detail and so well writte, too. I particularly noticed what you wrote about brain for and feeling like your brain is swelling and I know from my own experiences that's how it feel and your brain really does swell and you get migraines.    Way back when I was in my 20s I read a book by 2 MD allergist and they described their patient who came in complaining that her brain, inside her cranium, was swelling  and it happened when she smelled a certain chemical she used in her home. She kept coming back and insisting her brain actually swelled in her head. The Drs couldn't explain this problem so they, with her permission, performed an operation where they made a small opening through her cranium, exposed her to the chemical then watched as she brain did swell into the opening. The DRs were amazed but then were able to advise her to avoid chemicals that made her brain swell. I remember that because I occasionally had brain fog then but it was not a serious problem. I also realized that I was becoming more sensitive to chemicals I used in my work in medical laboratories. By my mid forties the brain fog and chemicals forced me to leave my  profession and move to a rural area with little pollution. I did not have migraines. I was told a little later that I had a more porous blood brain barrier than other people. Chemicals in the air would go up into my sinused and leak through the blood brain barrier into my brain. We have 2 arteries  in our neck that carry blood with the nutrients and oxygen into the brain. To remove the fluids and used blood from the brain there are only capillaries and no large veins to carry it away so all those fluids ooze out much more slowly than they came in and since the small capillaries can't take care of extra fluid it results in swelling in the face, especially around the eyes. My blood flow into my brain is different from most other people as I have an arterial ischema, adefectiveartery on one side.   I have to go forward about 20 or more years when I learned that I had glaucoma, an eye problem that causes blindness and more years until I learned I had celiac disease.  The eye Dr described my glaucoma as a very slow loss of vision that I wouldn't  notice until had noticeable loss of sight.  I could have my eye pressure checked regularly or it would be best to have the cataracts removed from both eyes. I kept putting off the surgery then just overnight lost most of the vision in my left eye. I thought at the I had been exposed to some chemical and found out a little later the person who livedbehind me was using some chemicals to build kayaks in a shed behind my house. I did not realize the signifance  of this until I started having appointments with a Dr. in a new building. New buildings give me brain fog, loss of balance and other problems I know about this time I experienced visual disturbances very similar to those experienced by people with migraines. I looked further online and read that people with glaucoma can suffer rapid loss of sight if they have silent migraines (no headache). The remedy for migraines is to identify and avoid the triggers. I already know most of my triggers - aromatic chemicals, some cleaning materials, gasoline and exhaust and mold toxins. I am very careful about using cleaning agents using mostly borax and baking powder. Anything that has any fragrance or smell I avoid. There is one brand of dishwashing detergent that I can use and several brands of  scouring powder. I hope you find some of this helpful and useful. I have not seen any evidence that Celiac Disease is involved with migraines or glaucoma. Please come back if you have questions or if what I wrote doesn't make senseto you. We sometimes haveto learn by experience and finding out why we have some problems. Take care.       The report did not mention migraines.
    • Mari
Hi Jmartes71 That is so much like my story! You probably know where Laytonville is and that's where I was living just before my 60th birthday when the new Dr. suggested I could have Celiacs. I didn't go on a gluten challange diet before having the Celiac panel blood test drawn. The results came back as equivical as one antibody level was very high but another, tissue transaminasewas normal. Itdid show I was  allergic to cows milk and I think hot peppers. I immediately went gluten free but did not go in for an endoscopy. I found an online lab online that would do the test to show if I had a main celiac gene (enterolab.com). The report came back that I had inherited a main celiac gene, DQ8, from one parent and a D!6 from the other parent. That combination is knows to sym[tons of celiac worse than just inheriting one main celiac gene. With my version of celiac disease I was mostly constipated but after going gluten-free I would have diarrhea the few times I was glutened either by cross contamination or eating some food containing gluten. I have stayed gluten-free for almost 20 years now and knew within a few days that it was right for me although my recovery has been slow.   When I go to see a  medical provide and tell them I have celiacs they don't believe me. The same when I tell them that I carry a main celiac gene, the DQ8. It is only when I tell them that I get diarrhea after eating gluten that they realize that I might have celiac disease. Then they will order th Vitamin B12 and D3 that I need to monitor as my B12 levels can go down very fast if I'm not taking enough of it. Medical providers haven't been much help in my recovery. They are not well trained in this problem. I really hope this helps ypu. Take care.
