Mornin' Silly Wenches & Knaves!!!!!!

(the King's a tad uncomfortable w/ blanket usage of the W-word ......isn't there a negative connotation in the Real World?)

Amanda!? Shouldn't the Wegman's flyer be due out soon??????

Wench??? How did you know????

I will get to preview the flyer before it comes out and I need to get my release of photo signed but it hasn't come in the mail yet. The photographer and I spoke on Friday and he sent the photos to Rochester last Thursday and he said they came out fabtastic. I will let you all know :):) Tis Exciting!

My cats pound on the door, dancing with their legs crossed, for me to let them in to go potty.

My Cat pounds on the door because he feels left out when we go into a room and close the door.....we do this to him at night when he is making too much noise while we try to sleep. He has more human tendencies than cat....

I really don't think I'm buxom enough to be called a 'Wench':lol:

Doth thou dislike my dungarees?

Thou doth clothe thy naked villany in....DUNGAREES???????? :o

The fashion constabulary WILL hear about this! <even if you are king  >

Yeah  ....he'd LOVE to do that

He'd also like all doors and windows to be left open so he could sit half-in half-out

Made some tactical moves today....

Placed litter tray on back step .....he DID use it there......tomorrow the litter tray goes further out into the garden......

DETERMINED to get RID OF THE TRAY!!!!!!!!!

Lottery and gambling winnings are tax free in Canada (pretty much the only thing the US taxes but we don't!) so we might be able to make it into a tax free million. Depends, I guess on whether Jack sees it as something being won or just a choice that one is making.

No, I'd wager he'd consider this a deal of sorts, and therefore the money wouldn't be winnings, but more like a salary for doing a job--wearing complete green every minute of every day. I had been explaining income tax to him a while ago, and he was sharp enough to say at the very beginning, "It would actually be, like, one million, five hundred thousand, and you would have to pay tax. So, you'd end up with a million". I did ask him about underwear and jammies...yep, he said, EVERYTHING...and no blue-greens or yellowy greens, unless the green part is strongest.

He said if that was the case, he would--and I think I would, too.

Me, too, upon reflection. And Jack has said that the clothes would be supplied. This saves us shopping big-time.....

(the King's a tad uncomfortable w/ blanket usage of the W-word ......isn't there a negative connotation in the Real World?)

Absolutely. But we're SO freakin' far from any Real World here, I think you can go ahead with this word.....

Let's see .. . ..small, green & free of financial worries? La Fee Verte?

That Maignan absinthe-related painting WAS titled The Green Muse!

Is Em raising the green phaerie??

<not that there's anything wrong w/ that>

:lol: I did not make the coincidental connection between Jack's Green Question and our simultaneous discourse on absinthe/Green Phaerie. Why did Jack choose green in his question? Why did he ask me this bizzare question AT ALL?

....Life with The Ripper....

LOVED all the music talk yesterday but phew! that was a LOTta pages!!!

And it all began w/ Larry King's guestlist!! :o

I know! Frenetic posting!! We need a new, equally explosive topic.....

argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! emoticonally busted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAH!!!!!!!!!

Kingy say Dingy go download that "By Your Side" (augh! you better NOT have some inexplicable gluten-brain disdain for Sade!!) for a dingoland snuggled singalong.

Such a sweet song of unconditional love.

Well. The sad news is, Mr. JR (secret agent freak man) used to play that Sade C D all the time in Big Sur, so it's ruined for me forever...... <_<

********************************

(I feel an overquoting coming & I pre-emptively blame Sue )

Plays too????? Thought it was just musicals.

Even some Tennessee Williams' et al classic w/ great actors??

(Or just Clooney as Brick?)

HATE plays. HATE HATE HATE musical plays. Whilst in London over 20 years ago, had to see Cats (nearly slit my wrists - and my parents went back to see it two more times - I thought I would surely go mad, counting the SECONDS to my freedom), Evita (better but still a challenge for me) and Amadeus, the year it won the - - Obi? The English equiv. of the Tony? It was OUTSTANDING..........and the only play I've ever loved.

Had to see DOZENS of plays as my oldest niece (now 24) was quite a little singer/actress, so I was constantly driving home from Monterey........excruciating plays, many of them, but pure joy and always made me cry to see her......she did win performer of the year in her large school district - played Evita and also Sandy in Grease - I was bawling........

 Ptaum called me Sue.

p.s. I could watch George Clooney fold laundry. ha ha

im not twisting her arm to go to this musical! so she is either a closet musical lover or... she really does  me !!!! im hoping its me !

Susie HATES musicals, so you know that that means. especially at the place we're seeing it...gads......I will surely go mad........Kissy will find this very funny..........watching me try to sit still and behave, while I watch everyone else eat and take wee, discreet tipples from me flask. (winky face)

right .. ..I neglected to count the wait-for-evil-aunts-to-DIE strategy (or Lotto)

ha ha - My cousin and I decided (one of the aunts is her mother) that they aren't evil at all, just very selfish. I hope to God that they leave it to the five grandchildren of the wonderful old Southern gent who bought it......then I would be part-owner. (huge smiley face)

Now that we are surfacing, I'll admit it: cannot stand Neil Diamond...

 thank you. I surely don't get it........the looks, the hair, the voice, everything....just don't get it at all.......can't stand to look at him, sorry pholks (I hold him on the same level as Barry Manilow - wait - he's WORSE) Pre-emptive apologies to those I've offended. ha ha

Emily said Slattern.

OMG - I WOULD wear green every day for the million.......celadon, teal, loden.... good coloUrs.

Janet - how are the kids? any better today?

And I'm not sure Kissey would be considered a metal head per se, at least that's not the category I would file the concerts he attended into....Foreigner, Loverboy, Journey, Triumph, Eddie Money, Bryan Adams, Night Ranger, The Police, The Fixx, Madness, Oingo Boingo, and The Thompson Twins..........these bands are a little on the fluffy side and much too tame for HELL

*snort* this cracked me up........I fink she's right.........

UHM- hallo...I'm tired and trying REALLY hard here :P Did NO ONE notice that my intro to Squatty (aka Kissy) was a parody of Sympathy for the devil and I posted a VERY FUNNY video! HARUMPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Love the spanish nanny video. Believe 'twas I who sent it to you, in fact. ;) Um......sympathy for the devil post? missed that one......does this mean, you feel sorry for Squats?

An official hi (and belated!) to SWD.

(PSSSTT-------We love Susie!!!!!!!!!!!)

:) Hi Laura. We love you, too.

Bev!! I missed you video post, somehow. Must go back....

Tom!! Missed your First Official Proclamation, as well. Um.....do all subjects need to be partaking in the Magic Phairie to partake in the ceremony? As token alehouse slattern, I suppose I should be pressing for this...this is kind of what we do. Like, all day....

Perhaps I'll wear green.......

Do you realize that was like 5 pages ago? We've had a really busy day here on this thread and we've already used up 5 pages of tom's reign.

I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stop it! Tom's posts are getting too long and confusing again. He is tippling that phaerie every day, I can feel it.

pOeter - OMG - wishing you the best in the delivery today........

[Edit: ok maybe partly the alcohol, but more the picture painted of laughing sillies spilling & sharing a keybd]

You two!!!!!

'twas quite funny. Alas, when I logged on this morning, I looked at the bottom of the page, and saw that Squats wif Dingos was on.......very curious as I knew he could not be. and then - oops - realized that 'twas I, and I had not PROPERLY signed in. ha ha ha

Thou doth clothe thy naked villany in....DUNGAREES???????? :o

The fashion constabulary WILL hear about this! <even if you are king  >

 she said FASHION CONSTABULARY. we don't use the word constabulary in the US, and that is why I snort every time I hear it.........

the tray!!!!!!!!! Good work, Will will be weeing in the bushes in no time.........

Quit your braggin', mister!!!!

OK . . . update on kids. . . somebody asked, don't remember who . . .

Well, I sent him to school!!! Yes!! That's right!! I ignored the 24hr fever-free policy and sent him to school. I gave him motrin last night and he perked right up. Fever never came back. I told him to sleep-in in the morning and then we would decide at lunch if he should go to school. So he actually got up 30 minutes earlier this morning. Then he was playing his ds lite before breakfast (since he was up so early) and started singin' and dancin' around because he got past some gremlin or other. A little bit later I asked if he thought he should go to school this morning and he kept looking away and then said "I don't know" which here means that he feels fine but he doesn't want to tell me because he's trying to salvage his morning off. Every so often, when he has a cold (which he does now) he will run a fever (100-101) for about a 4 to 8 hour period and then it's done. I made the executive decision that that is what was going on. He's home from school now and is still runnin' strong.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.

It could be a fructan intolerance? How do you do with dates?  https://www.dietvsdisease.org/sorry-your-gluten-sensitivity-is-actually-a-fructan-intolerance/

Thank’s for addressing the issue of mushrooms.  I was under the impression that only wild mushrooms were gluten-free.  Have been avoiding cultivated mushrooms for years. Also, the issue of smoked food was informative.  In France last year, where there is hardly any prepared take-out food that is gluten-free, I tried smoked chicken.  Major mistake!
