Well.......if ya want them to just....you know.....disappear... . . .. lemme know.....

:lol::lol: I think people might notice . . . :unsure: . . . :lol::lol:

But I got great knees...... <_<

Ahhhhh . . . perhaps Josie's in the right home . . . I can totally relate to her knee problems. <_<

Poor wittle Josie! keep an eye on her, Janet...I've heard that veterenairy knee/hip surgery that is done before things get bad is considerably less involved (read: cheaper)....

Doc said "sooner than later" when we start noticing issues will result in an "Overall better long-term outcome" . . . I read "Don't let it get so bad that she ends up screwing up other things to compensate."

Watch for my "tat" on ebay to pay my vet bills!! :P

 I first discovered them at Petsmart in Monterey, years ago......pizzle dog treats...........it was Tika's FAVORITE thing of all time (saucy gal) but......I'm not sure Annie has ever had the pleasure of a pizzle.

<although, she came to the pound pregnant and all her pups were adopted out, so she did have at least ONE encounter w/ a pizzle  )

B. Sir Winston Churchill

B) 'Twas the one I picked, and, he is my favorite world leader in all of history......marvelous painter also, and fought the "black dog" of depression........hence, the whiskey, I guess

OHHHHHH . . . I HEAR ya in that one!!! I've got a couple of favoUrite posters that usually annoy me and what do I do? . . . I almost always go read what they say so that I can tell my self "I knew they were going to say that!!!" and be all annoyed again.

 who? who are they? I wanna know so *I* can be annoyed also!!!!!!!!! Because, I don't stray too far outside of the 'Ville any more......but come on, I want to be annoyed also!!!!!!!

I was thawing some pork chops in the microwave, planning to top with veggies and some salt-free stewed tomatoes. I was chopping the veggies, and re-read the can....I missed this in the store--natural flavors :o:o

 OMG Patti - and all youse guys - a confession - I eat things w/ natural flavoUrs regularly..... I know......careless..........sloppy...........and maybe this is why I'm not my best any more? :( Good thing you saw that and averted the disaster!

But - -but - - OMG - guess I need a lecture on the avoidance of these ersatz flavors.....

They are also dog treats. We sell them. The treats are also known as bullwrinkles, and as steer sticks. Full size they are almost 30 inches, but are popular when cut into 12- 8- or 5-inch pieces.

Yes, who doesn't love a good pizzle.... :P

y. Now does anybody else here feel like this is somehow Emily's fault???!!!???

*snort*

I'm w/ ya too Alex. I wasn't sure if I was gonna say so, but I see I'm not alone.

A couple weeks ago I felt like I could create a reply w/ all (well .. . .5-7?) ppl's replies in one.

And more recently there are times I've wondered if newbies are being helped or harmed by seeing some of these STRONGLY presented, and in my mind only marginally correct, at best, in only the most narrowly defined circumstance.

Yet these opinions are spewed as being applicable to ALL situations.

Particularly bothersome in some cases where the opinion is formed over just a few weeks. <shakes head>

OK . ....back to Sillyville ... .

That dang RIPPER!!!!!!!!!

Never expected THAT!!

<give him a firm but harmless back-of-the-head slap for me will ya?>

Hitler was a gifted artist - - some of his landscapes were literally beautiful....and he also loved dogs, with his entire being. These facts about the the most infamous madman of our time are somehow not just unsettling, but terrifying.. ..I'm not certain why.

Nope--no lecture, but not checking and making sure what's in them could be part of the problem ;) Actually a major part if it's in something you eat regularly....this is the point in a conversation where I say "That's all I'm going to say" and then Mark says "No, it's not".

Well, time for "Lost"--the season finale.....I better get some answers tonight!:D

Well, I sure as hell ain't gonna put it in writing . . . especially since we can't go back and edit anymore. There is more than one on my list, and they don't always annoy me. All I'll say is that I've never seen them on this thread . . . but . . . . . . maybe they read along anonomously (and before you think it, it's not Peter) or logout and then just visit as a guest.

beef jerky - heap o' pizzle........hmmm..........must ponder (BTW the pizzle treats are shredded - so - it's really shredded pizzle - not whole - I don't think they're sold whole to pets  or are they? Dang that would be a big' un )

Had a lovely conversation today with two other women in other labs about how socially inept we all are and how much we enjoy being that way.

  This is interesting - I do not enjoy my social ineptness (David calls me Kissey T - - T for Tourettes because I say the most spastic things sometimes  )

I'm sorry I brought this on Janet. But it is comforting to know that I'm not the only one who gets aggravated by some posts. I guess its normal. But I must resolve to be more patient and understanding of people who do/act/say things that drive me around the bend. It's just so difficult!!! I'm sooooo easily annoyed by some types of people. I worked with someone once who bothered me so much that I had to fake sick a couple times a month to go home early because she was so irritating that I feared I might tell her what I really though about her . . . which would include some horribly hurtful words.

Can I learn to be more patient and understanding?

Oh!!!! . . . and duh . . . it rules out . . . ME!!!!

Actually . . . confession time . . . my daughter's GI wanted everyone in the family to get screened. I was pretty darn sure that it came through my husband's side of the family (looking at all the digestive issues). Well, hubby's blood test was negative (last fall). So it's only been a yearf since my daughter's diagnosis and I'm going to go get my blood test tomorrow :P .

Alex!!!! No Worries, Mate!!! I can handle it!!! I was debating doing the PM thing . . . it's just those things usually end up bitin' me in the arse later down the road and then I totally regret spillin' out too much info. I'll go and PM everybody with the names and then I'll end up offending one of youse guys because someone on me list is a best buddy. . . well, maybe not . . . but you know what I mean.

Thank’s for addressing the issue of mushrooms.  I was under the impression that only wild mushrooms were gluten-free.  Have been avoiding cultivated mushrooms for years. Also, the issue of smoked food was informative.  In France last year, where there is hardly any prepared take-out food that is gluten-free, I tried smoked chicken.  Major mistake!

my IGG is 815 IGA 203  but tTG-Iga is   <0.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!   oh my god- 13 days of agony and the test is negative?  I don't even know what to do next. There zero doubt in my mind that I have an issue with wheat and probably more so with gluten as symptoms are dramatically worse the more gluten a product has   I am going to write up the history of my issues for the past few years and start a food/symptom diary to bring with me to the GI doctor in March.   I googled like crazy to try to find out what other things might cause these symptoms and the only thing that truly fits besides celiac is NCGS   but I guess there are some other things I maybe should be tested for ...? like SIBO?   I will continue to eliminate any foods that cause me distress (as I have been doing for the past couple of years) and try to keep a record. Can anyone recommend an app or some form or something that would simplify this? I have a very full and busy life and taking the time to write out each symptom name in full would be tedious and time consuming- some sort of page with columns to check off would be ideal. I am not at all tech savvy so that's not something I can make myself ... I'm hoping there's some thing out there that I can just download and print out   do I give up on testing for celiac with such a low number? I am 70 yrs old I have been almost completely off gluten for the most part for about 2 yrs. I had a meal of vital wheat gluten vegan roast,  rolls and stuffing made from home baked bread and an apple pie- and had the worst pain and gas and bloating and odd rumblings in my gut etc - almost went to the ER it was so bad. I was thinking, since I'm spilling a lot of calcium in my urine, that perhaps this was a kidney stone (never had one before but there's always that first time, right?)    Saw my endo on Jan 20th and after hearing the story about the symptoms from eating that holiday meal, she suggested doing a gluten challenge. She said 2 weeks was fine- she said stopping it in the middle if symptoms got bad was fine- In the meantime I'd read that 2 weeks was not enough- called and argued with the nurse about this, but ultimately decided to stop the gluten on the 13th day and get the test done because I was in too much pain and almost suicidal and knew I could not continue.   so.............. that's where I am now I have had no bread since Sunday. I did have some rolled oats today and had some gas and bloating afterwards I did have some wheat germ in a smoothie on Tuesday and had a stomach ache later that night.   but overall I feel so much better! all the joint pain is gone! the nausea is gone. The stomach pain and gas and bloating are going away. Still a bit gassy but no more of that horrible odor. wow, that would clear a room if I was out in public!  I see a GI nurse March 4th  I hope she'll be able to help sort this out! can you think of what my next steps might be?

      Thanks for the reply.

What you’re describing is actually very common, and unfortunately the timing of the biopsy likely explains the confusion. Yes, it is absolutely possible for the small intestine to heal enough in three months on a strict gluten-free diet to produce a normal or near-normal biopsy, especially when damage was mild to begin with. In contrast, celiac antibodies can stay elevated for many months or even years after gluten removal, so persistently high antibody levels alongside the celiac genes and clear nutrient deficiencies strongly point to celiac disease, even if you don’t feel symptoms. Many people with celiac are asymptomatic but still develop iron and vitamin deficiencies and silent intestinal damage. The lack of immediate symptoms makes it harder emotionally, but it doesn’t mean gluten isn’t harming you. Most specialists would consider this a case of celiac disease with a false-negative biopsy due to early healing rather than “something else,” and staying consistently gluten-free is what protects you long-term—even when your body doesn’t protest right away.
    • Scott Adams
Yes, I meant if you had celiac disease but went gluten-free before screening, your results would end up false-negative. As @trents mentioned, this can also happen when a total IGA test isn't done.
