Amanda, when Jacquie and I were in Orlando, we went to the space center. This was in 1996. There were two tours available, one of the civilian NASA-operated Kennedy Space Center, and one of the more historic Cape Canaveral Air Force Station where the earlier missions were launched. We did both. I would do it again. It was a much more enjoyable day than the one we spent at Disney World.

I read a lot of books, and am currently reading "The Mushroom Man" by Stuart Pawson. It is a murder mystery set in England in the south of Yorkshire. The protagonist is Detective Inspector Charlie Priest, and when the story is from his point of view, the narration is in the first person. I read this passage this afternoon. Charlie is speaking.

I grabbed my book of numbers an wrote out a few for Gilbert. After stuffing a few plastic bags in my pockets I was down the stairs faster than a lighthouse keeper with diarrhoea and an outside toilet.

That image was just so, well, celiac that I had to share it with my silly friends.

Obviously, this spammer must have nothing better to do today than to tell us about "pizzle enhancers????" Sounds like a personal problem to me!

Perhaps he should just go out and buy a sports car like every other guy who's trying to compensate for something. It's bad enough that we all get this garbage in our emails.

Okay...........here's what happened. :( and I am a compleeeeeeeeeeeet eejit.

We went to a restaurant where I have been at least a DOZEN times since dx, and eaten safely. There is a wonderful kitchen manager there, with whom I usually speak - no problems, EVER.

Well............Saturday night, after a coupla mojitos, this is where we went, and we had a new, young waiter. I told him about my issues, but quite briefly.............ordered shrimp w/ garlic/butter/white wine and asparagus. He assures us this is okay.

I ate my shrimp..........but noticed that there seemed to be a .........mealy? quality to the shrimp.......as if coated with something. I paid no heed and kept going. :(

Sunday, I was not well..........but attributed it to mojitos and - later - red wine. :ph34r: Yes, Kissey and I do like to get our drink on...........so I thought this, on Sunday, was the problem........more..... beverage than usual.

So - I ate the leftover shrimp/asparagus (which were so pithy and undercooked as to feel like eating a TREE TRUNK :blink: ) on Sunday..........and today.............. :( many, many trips to toilet and my BRAIN??????? As bad as it can be, my friends. Crying, emotional, dramatic, and thinking the darkest thoughts ever. I put it together..........our restaurant had failed us as there had been nothing else suspicious or not made from home.

Today's depression was quite dramatic.......horrible...very sad. :( Dark thoughts.

But - - I have gone to Save Mart and purchased ONLY safe, whole meats/fish/poultry/veggies/fruits - -have to be pure again and make myself right. HARRUMPH!!!!!!!!!!! Been living dangerously because I am trying to seem......normal..........going out and ordering things and eating other things that seemed....easy and right......but not being careful. BOLLOCKS!!!!!!!!!!

I now know that I have to be more strict. Kissey can do his own things away from me and even with me but........*I* have to be quite careful as cannot afford to be this messed up.

:( I had the same shrink in Monterey for five years, once to twice a week. Loved her. She knew, if I ever lost my sense of humoUr (which is somehow a detached portion of my brain, and works better in writing than in person) that things were very, VERY dire......she considered hospitalizing me a few times.....and in hindsight, I wish I'd gone. Would have given more credibility to my struggles............but I fought like hell to stay out, because I had a wonderful mom, and dingo whom I could not leave, and would recuperate at the Janie sanitarium. :huh:

night, sillies. Bad day, but half the carpet is shamPOOed, tomorrow, the rest. :weaksmile:

I'm all for ya being more reck than reckless, but it's not like you scarfed a bunch of tollhouses or tried a new place w/out talking about gluten-free.

Did I mention that Elsie has put on five pounds since we've had her? :) No more angular boniness to her frame, and her back legs do seem stronger. Such a happy girl.....

Elsie and Gus are currently sprawled out on the office floor behind me, chewing on each other's ears. When they are finished with each other they always approach me in a rush, completely covered in slobber (greenguy)......

I'm telling you, it becomes an addiction. It is the one show that I will make plans not to miss. Since you're a Gas Newbie, you're lucky to have six whole seasons' worth to enjoy. Ah Suzzle--the restaurant meal :angry: Well, you tried to get a safe meal--that's really all you could have done. The safe foods prepared at home should have you back in the pink before too long. My last glutening (the dates <_< ) lasted 10 days, so be patient :)

I have no warning percentages beside me. I would think that not being part of this Visible Percentage Warning Club (VPWC) matters not, but by the sounds of things, it's currently de rigueur... ... .

I had a dream last night about Jess :lol: Alls I remember was she lived in a cool loft and had lots of people around.

Question: I have not as yet had any dreams involving Sillies, so I am curious as to how it will transpire when it does happen - - since we don't really know what Jess looks like, what did she look like in your dream, Patti? How did you know it was her? Did she have to tell you who she was? "Hey - - it's me.....you know.. ..Sillyville Jess"....

Others have had Citizens of Sillyville dreams....how do we know that we're dreaming of one another?! :huh::lol:

Sillie Em...I've seen Jess, she had an av up a while back taken while on a trip. Also in that dream was the man who bought our house last summer.....I wish to heck I could remember more cuz' it was probably a good 'un :lol:

I don't dream all that often, or at least remember them, but when I do it seems that everything is all there at once :o

Weird.....and quite exhausting :huh:

On to more important news.....I fit into my size 10 crop pants as of this morning!!! :D:D:D And not lay-on-the-bed-and-hold-my-breath-so-I-can-zip- them, either :D Stood there and zipped 'em right up! :) I kept them hanging in my closet for 2 years, never giving up hope :lol:

Well, Em, dingos don't slobber!!!!!!! Annie does, however, foam at the mouth and have shoestring spit ONLY and I mean ONLY at the dog park. :blink: 'tis most curious.........

      Hello @Midwesteaglesfan and welcome. A result greater than 10 U/mL is considered positive. Some labs use 15 as the cutoff, but 34 is in the positive. The endoscopy and biopsy is looking for damage to your small intestine. I don't don't think 5 days is enough to repair the damage. This comment is effectly your answer, regardless of your biopsy...

This comment is effectly your answer, regardless of your biopsy results.  The endoscopy has been the Gold Standard diagnostic, and most healthcare providers won't diagnose celiac disease until your intestinal lining Marsh Score reaches stage 3. You don't really want to wait for the damage to get worse, especially since only five days mostly gluten free gave you relief.  Yes, migranes is one of the 200 symptoms that may be caused by Celiac Disease. Malabsorption Syndrome is often comorbid with celiac disease.  The western diet is deficient in many vitamins and minerals.  That's why gluten processed foods are fortified.  Gluten free processed foods are not; Vitamin D deficiency is a virtual given.  40 to 60% of the industrial population is deficient in vitamin D, Damage to the intestinal lining from celiac disease can decrease the number of vitamin D receptors.  So now you get no vitamin D from the sun (skin cancer scare) the major source of vitamin D, plus absorbtion from food is poor because of intestinal damage.   Low iodine intake is getting more of a concern because the major source of iodine used to be bread (dough conditioner with iodine was stopped in the US in the 1970s), dairy (lactose intolerance from eating quick pickles with vinegar instead of fermented pickles which supply lactase excreting lactobacillus to improve Lactose intolerance. Commercial Dairies have wheat, barley and rye added to the cow feed. Some say they are sensitive to milk protein, but it is the gluten added to supplement the cow feed to increase milk production that becomes part of the milk protein causing the problem.  And people use less iodized salt.  In the US intake of iodine dropped 50% from 1970 to 1984. Switch to Grass fed only milk and consider supplementing Liquid Iodine drops to your diet.  The omega 6 to omega 3 ratio of commercial milk is 5:1; Organic milk is 3:1 and grass fed milk is 1:1. The typical western diet is around 14:1, optimum for humans is 1:1.  Wheat flour is 22:1 omega 6:3.  Choose vegetables lower in omega 6, it is inflammatory. Eat fermented foods and switch to Grass fed only milk.  Some say they are sensitive to milk protein, but it is the gluten added to supplement the cow feed to increase milk production that becomes part of the milk protein.

He ordered X-rays of all my joints and more bloodwork.  He suspected some sort of reactive inflammatory arthritis.  My TTG (Tissue Transglutaminase) came back at 34. he told me to try going gluten free and out me on Salfasalzin to help the join inflammation.  Over the next couple days going gluten free and doing a lot of research and talking to people with celiacs,  we found that I should have an upper endoscopy for insurance purposes in the future.  I reached back out to my rheumatologist and expressed this concern and he got back to me stating I was correct and resume regular gluten diet and stop the medication until after that scope.     They were able to schedule me in for 2 days later.  I had been gluten free, or as close to it as I could be for about 5 days.  I know I ate some brats with it but wanted to use them up.  My symptoms had gotten slightly better in those 5 days.  I felt less fatigue and joint pain was slightly better(it had gotten really bad) so for these last 2 days I’ve gone crazy with wheat bread, pasta and such.  I’m hoping those 5 days didn’t screw this endoscopy up.  I can’t imagine after a life of gluten, my intestines healed in 5 days and after eating gluten again for these couple days,  my stomach hurts, joint pain is coming back up so I know the inflammation is there.   Hinesight after this diagnosis, I have had chronic migraines since my late teens.  Has that been a lingering symptom of celiacs all these years?  I’ve never really had the stomach issues, for me it came in heavy these last couple months as the fatigue, just always feeling tired and exhausted.  And the joint pain.     So getting in the car for the 2 hour drive to the hospital for this scope now.     Wish me luck!
