Just got back from a lovely lunch at my girlfriend's....four of us get together every couple of months. This time we met at her big place, and for the hell of it, brought our dogs. OMG...Gus and Elsie were hilarious with two puppies and a little cairn terrier. :lol:

And we had a fair amount of champagne.....it's now, what....almost 3 pm? :ph34r::rolleyes:

And we climbed into her hot tub. Incredible! The temp outside is about 75 F, and the water was nice and cool, but still bubbly. A neat experience.

However, I believe the rest of the day may be shot. Oh, hell...........

Julie! Lord, it's great to hear you are okay after all of that terrifying swelling. What a horrid thing to have to be thinking about.........(((((HUGS)))))))!!!!!

Patti AND Carla! You both are far too young to have kids in their twenties......quite remarkable. You both look fantastic, and you must surprise a lot of people if and when your age ever comes up!

Evening all!!

Son of Silly just back from his trip to France.....fab time :D .....watch this space for his next intrepid oversea adventure!! :lol:

So we have a few rather chesty Sillies, here...Sarah, too! It's not that mine are that small, they're now just....considerably lower, I guess.... :(<_<

Well we made it, and fun was had by all. Whew! And my friend's baby only wanted ME to hold her the whole time-- which I loved. :lol: She's about 14 months, and has been doing the mommy-clingy thing a lot lately. I think she figured out, "Hey, that one only has boys. She'll coo and spoil me the whole time if I allow her to have me." :rolleyes:

Emily, that sounds like so much fun!!! I wanna come next time. :D

I don't think I told you guys....I got my hair cut--short :o:o:o

Remember how it was uneven, and driving me nuts? I tried a salon that came well recommended right on the little Main Street of our town.

Anyway, this really nice stylist took me right away (I only stopped in to make an appointment) and did a very nice job--it's short, but it's an excellent cut.

Get this--her daughter tested weakly positive for Celiac when she was 19--3 years ago. The doctor said it was a low positive, so she didn't have to go on the gluten-free diet. :huh: This girl gets outbreaks when she is under stress.....among other things. (This came up because I told the shampoo girl I just wanted my hair rinsed......yada, yada, yada)

I gave the mom as much info as I could and invited her to come on the board, just to read if she wanted to. She asked a lot of questions and said she looked forward to talking to me about this some more the next time I come in. Which I plan to do cause I really liked her and the whole salon. B)

I have to say I'm loving not blow-drying :D

I know!!! :lol:

The chemical straightening really took it's toll after a while--the girl who did it for me was excellent, but that stuff is potent. My hair was breaking and shedding and to tell you the truth, I kinda wanted to go more natural and stop using so much stuff on it.

I will probably grow it out a bit now that all the processed parts are gone--so yeah, I'm starting from scratch again! :P

EXACTEMENT. I imagined this, also. However, I was quite impressed with myself and my ability to drag myself, struggling mightily, into my sage, helpful persona and, well......offer a post that was responsible, mature and serious.

Helpful? Bah!!

I so very rarely partake in this kind of mid-day decadence....what kind of timing does this mother think she has, anyways?? :huh::lol:

I know what you mean. Lyme did a number on my hair. Much of it fell out and what was left broke. When I began treatment, it started growing back, so it's taken this long to replace all of it. I have about two inches of bad hair left, but it's not worth getting cut off right now as it's not that bad anymore. It's thickened up to where it used to be. Thankfully it was thick to begin with .....

      This may be the problem. Every time you eat gluten it is like giving a booster shot to your immune system, telling it to react and produce antibodies again.

      Scott, I am mostly asymptomatic. I was diagnosed based on high antibodies, low ferritin (3) and low vitamin D (10). I wasn't able to get in for the biopsy until 3 months after the blood test came back. I was supposed to keep eating gluten during this time. Well why would I continue doing something that I know to be harmful for 3 more months to just get...

      I have had a long year of testing unfortunately still not diagnosed , although one thing they definitely agree I'm gluten intolerant, the thing for me I have severe back troubles they wouldnt perform the tests and I couldn't have a full MRI because I'm allergic to the solution , we tryed believe me I tryed lol , another was to have another blood test after...

      Scott, I am mostly asymptomatic. I was diagnosed based on high antibodies, low ferritin (3) and low vitamin D (10). Well why would I continue doing something that I know to be harmful for 3 more months to just get this test? So I did quit gluten and had the biopsy. It was negative for celiacs. I continued gluten free with iron supps and my ferritin came back up to a reasonable, but not great level of around 30-35.  Could there be something else going on? Is there any reason why my antibodies would be high (>80) with a negative biopsy? could me intestines have healed that quickly (3 months)?  I'm having a hard time staying gluten free because I am asymptomatic and i'm wondering about that biopsy. I do have the celiacs gene, and all of the antibody tests have always come back high. I recently had them tested again. Still very high. I am gluten free mostly, but not totally. I will occasionally eat something with gluten, but try to keep to a minimum. It's really hard when the immediate consequences are nil.  with high antibodies, the gene, but a negative biopsy (after 3 months strict gluten-free), do i really have celiacs? please say no. lol. i think i know the answer.  Asa

      I have had a long year of testing unfortunately still not diagnosed , although one thing they definitely agree I'm gluten intolerant, the thing for me I have severe back troubles they wouldnt perform the tests and I couldn't have a full MRI because I'm allergic to the solution , we tryed believe me  I tryed lol , another was to have another blood test after consuming gluten but it makes me so bad I tryed it for only a week, and because I have a trapped sciatic nerve when I get bad bowels it sets that off terribly so I just take it on myself now , I eat a gluten free diet , I'm the best I've ever been , and if I slip I know it so for me i have my own diagnosis  and I act accordingly, sometimes it's not so straight forward for some of us , for the first time in years I can plan to go out , and I have been absorbing my food better , running to the toilet has become occasionally now instead of all the time , i hope you find a solution 🤗
