You know . . . come to think of it . . .

The cat that I had passed away over 9 years ago . . .the mention of toroiseshell made me go look at the difference between tabbies and torties . . . I have come to the conclusion that she was a torbie (I did not make that up) . . . she was tabbie about the front legs and face and torti about the back and toes . . . :D . . . and apparently, her personality was a little from both.

Is this split personalities or multiples :lol:

I just got home form work and am busy catching up. I LUV working outside....as long as it's warm out. Just can't deal with the cold at all anymore.

Em...glad for you sister (uhn..ouch on the stent), and am sorry bout your dad. You're all in my thoughts and prayers.

Holy crap....what a ridiculous day. . . . ... . !

My dad has had kidney stone episodes a couple of times in his life, as has my sister and her eldest son. So, my sister comes home from kidney-stone surgery this morning, and MY DAD GOES INTO THE SAME ER this afternoon. .. . . . .with kidney stones....!!

Gads.....good thing I wasn't working today. . . ..

So, he's in observation right now, in likely the exact same cubicle, hooked up to the exact same lines, that my sister was yesterday. ..! Incredible....and a li'l spooky, er sumfin'. . . . . ...

Man, I've heard about family support and loyalty, but c'mon, Dad. . . . ...

People here mob the grocery stores and buy up all the milk and bread any time there's a prediction of more than a dusting of snow :P

Ooooh!!!!....I went to Kohl's today.....all their clearance racks were 60, 70, 80, and 90% off!!!!!!!!! I got a sweater for $10 and a pair of shorts for $3! :D I would've gotten more but had to watch my money.......didn't get a paycheck this week because of Christmas break. <_<

The Oracle is puzzled (soozzled?) by this. When I look at the top of page 1800, this post by Curly Lisa is what I see. If there were some posts marked invisible, then my view as a moderator would include them, while non-moderators would not see them. But my summary view says that there are no such posts in this topic, so we should all be seeing the same thing. The third post on 1800 is by Janet. :unsure:

      Welcome to the celiac.com community, @SamAlvi! Were there any other antibody tests ordered? Particularly, was there a "total IGA" test ordered to check for IGA deficiency. When people are IGA deficient, celiac panel IGA test scores, such as the TTG-IGA, are likely not valid. If a total IGA test was not ordered, I would request such to be done. Note:...

      Thank you— yes, valid and essential— The issue either doctors is that every one I have tried to talk to about this has essentially rolled their eyes and dismissed me as a hypochondriac, which gets discouraging. I believe a diagnosis would help me to be taken seriously by doctors as well as being validating, but can carry on without it. There are...

Note: "Total IGA" goes by other names as well. I will include a primer on celiac disease antibody testing which does a good job in covering the nomenclature variations connected with the various tests. Elevated IGG scores can certainly indicate celiac disease but they are more likely than elevated IGA tests to be caused by something else.

I believe a diagnosis would help me to be taken seriously by doctors as well as being validating, but can carry on without it.    There are many, probably most people in my area of my age and gender, who avoid gluten, but many just avoid it casually— eating the occasional plate of wheat pasta or a delicious-looking dessert, or baking cookies with wheat flour for gatherings.  That is not an option for me. I don’t eat other people’s cooking or go to restaurants that do not have strict cross- contamination procedures. It can be boring and lonely, and people do look at me as if I am being a bit dramatic but weeks of symptoms after a single small exposure has taught me to respect my experience.    Thank you very much for your response— sometimes I just need to hear that I am not crazy—

      You might consider asking for a referral to a RD (Registered Dietician) to help with food choices and planning a diet. Even apart from any gluten issues, you will likely find there are some foods you need to avoid because of the shorter bowel but you may also find that your system may make adjustments over time and that symptoms may improve.
