Grrrrrrr  another slow brain day & w/out a cause . . ...I barely breathed in ANY of the paint fumes from the closest hallway at work which was being painted yesterday.

Bah

I was remembering that the Thurs at Mayo I was feeling decent but then got perfumed bad in the slow-moving airport security line and a bit on the plane.

Is it possible to convey what a *&^%$ pain this sh!t is???

Speaking of Mayo, I got the big report today. Unbelievable how many things they have wrong in the history sections of 3 diff docs there. I swear there may not even be 2 consecutive sentences which are true - out of a cumulative couple pages!!

And to think I thought they were really listening.

Ptaoughmghmn!:angry: Not only is this infuriating, it honestly should be reason to get some money back. You should not have paid for this shoddy service...... ...

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

Ptaum- sorry to hear of your troubles with the health papers....I wish I could say something positive but that is a huge problem at every place....one that should be policed more.....It has happened to me and to Jen in regards to Landen...

Sillies-- no DSL!!!! and ready for the rant. I am totally going Comcast- going to go call them when I am finished here. John calls Verizon and (please pardon the next few sentences....I have nothing against people from outside the US....) and he gets INdia where we could not even understand the girl. He asks for a supervisor and that guy had no clue what DSL was....yet he is in the DSL tech service place. John very frustrated says he wants someone in the US...so they say fine and they "transfer him"...to Tiwan...or however you spell it. The man at first says he is from the US and later it comes out he is actually outside the country....so between the lies and the language issues, they tell us it will not be turned on till the 12th! :o:angry::o:angry: something about shooting a signal our way....made no sense whatsoever! So John is supposedly getting a phone call from an American DSL person today- I am not holding my breath!

I have nothing against people outside America but when I am paying money for something here I should get support here....That is a big peeve of mine. So anyway Comcast even though I am not as in love with them since I think they dominate the cable market and they are $$$ at least when I call them I call a local Harrisburg number and talk to someone local!

So I am at work now and I am still pretty steamed! what would you all do?

Jewels is Riccochet Rabbitt....bouncing off from walls. Bing, bing bing!

Manda.....sorry you are gettting such a runaround. 'Tis the American way...to farm out jobs to countries so we can pay them much less money and the hell with decent customer service! It's a great bug-bear of mine, too. How can you possibly resolve a problem when you can't even understand who you're talking to? I'm hoping that part of the "changes" to be made for our economy is to bring the jobs/businesses back here, and to keep our money here!

Joooody! No garden club today.........um, no big surprise.......what in hell ya gonna plant right now?

Good thing Edna kept her distance today. Those brownies sound s-o-o-o-o good

 OMgosh, I must share what I did.....and just beware, the following could potentially add ten pounds.

I made a batch of Pamela's Brownies Mix (Lisa B ;)) and let it cool completely (this is a must)

Let one pkg cream cheese sit out at room temp to soften and then beat in a little powdered sugar (I'd say I used maybe 1/3- 1/2 cup cuz I didn't want it too sweet, use less or more to sweeten to your tastes), beat til fluffy, smooth and creamy.

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top of the brownies.

Then pop the top off a large can of cherry pie filling (make sure no gluten ingredients used as thickeners of course ;) ) and spread that evenly over the top of the cream cheese mixture

And WAH LA!!!!!! You have yerself some Black Forrest Brownies :D

Make and eat at your own risk!!

GAWD!!! I love it when Jools has been on the chocolate!!!

She is me psychic sister AND me hair twin!!

You must have been feeling the chocolate high last night Nik, that's why you couldn't sleep!!!

4 am?!?!?! OMgosh are you just exhausted today? How are you holding up?? Quick, grab some chocolate!! If eating it doesn't help, try Bev's method and smear it all over ya

Spare a thought for me phlapping aboot in me own CONTINENT!!!

A-boot  I thought you was Em there for a sec!!

Well yes, I shouldn't complain now should I...you are over there cross the ocean all by your lonesome :(

BUT, last night during my chocolate high I had a thought, a revelation if you will. I was cracking myself up, and only myself :lol: .....it has to do with Lost, so I know Patti will get it, and maybe Tom? Maybe Judy, Susie, and you too Nik if you guys are still watching....

PATTI is going to my constant here in the middle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Em has Peter, and Peter Em.......Susie, Jess, and Tom are grounding each other on the west coast. Let's see.... Curly Lisa and Janet........Amanda and Judy (and Patti until she is in Texas).......Laura and Bunnie and Theresa I believe are up in that part??? correct me if I am wrong........Lisa B and Sarah (and is Susan harplady in GA??)

Technically Mango could be your constant Nik (but all of us really could be as well cuz it's a mind thing and miles and oceans and other bodies of water make nawt a difference....)

So you see my glee!!!

Patti has saved my constant-less state here in the middle

Thanks Patti, I really wasn't looking forward to all those bloody noses

Tried to make a diagram of Jools bouncing off the walls ..........not even close

<snackle>

OK Question?..........

Doesn't anyone think that there is something a bit odd with naming a sweet little kitty.........

peanut....................

Second game: Loss: 4-0.

....Can you believe she has a practice tonight with the Wildcats?? Gawd, I cannot. . . . . ...

I hate to say it, but I think you'll be better off wif Comcast. They do own everything around here and all, but compared to Verizon you'll have less headaches. Verizon almost had me in tears one time when all I wanted to do was cancel my service to move here. I was passed off over and over, billed in error several times--it was awful for such a simple request. Glad you're back on-line :D

Oh, and guess what? We will have Comcast in Houston, too :o They're EVERYWHERE!!

This morning, there were about 20-plus other cats waiting and tons of dogs (it's a wonderful non-profit that decided to become an inexpensive spay/neuter place instead of a shelter), Peanut was the calmest one in there, and just played and played and was adorable in his little mesh carrier on my lap. Everyone commented that he was the most mellow and psilliest kitteh in there - he woz :)

It doesn't really show well on such a small scale...We have a stained glass heart hanging in the window. That is a mandevilla vine floweringbehind the heart. I love that picture! This year the mandevilla has gotten so big, it's in front of a glass french door and takes up half of it.

My house in NY had woods on three sides...was wonderful! Here there are woods behind us, my immediate neighbor loves trees, so that side is all trees of various kinds. I've planted a dozen trees here.....but they are tiny. I started more from seed....which I hope take...but it'll be years before they become anything. (peach trees and pawpaw trees, and a kentucky coffee bean tree). It's fun anyway.

I have an acre to play with. I'm sure it's going to be years before I get it the way I want it :)

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.

I agree that KAN-101 looks promising, and hope the fast track is approved. From our article below: "KAN-101 shows promise as an immune tolerance therapy aiming to retrain the immune system, potentially allowing safe gluten exposure in the future, but more clinical data is needed to confirm long-term effects."
    • Scott Adams
Thank you so much for having the courage to share this incredibly vivid and personal experience; it's a powerful reminder of how physical ailments can disrupt our fundamental sense of self. What you're describing sounds less like a purely psychological body dysmorphia and more like a distinct neurological event, likely triggered by the immense physical stress and inflammation that uncontrolled celiac disease can inflict on the entire body, including the nervous system. It makes complete sense that the specific sensory input—the pressure points of your elbows on your knees—created a temporary, distorted body map in your brain, and the fact that it ceased once you adopted a gluten-free diet is a crucial detail. Your intuition to document this is absolutely right; it's not "crazy" but rather a significant anecdotal data point that underscores the mysterious and far-reaching ways gluten can affect individuals. Your theory about sensory triggers from the feet for others is also a thoughtful insight, and sharing this story could indeed be validating for others who have had similar, unexplainable sensory disturbances, helping them feel less alone in their journey.
    • Scott Adams
The most common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease that may lead to testing for the condition include iron, vitamin D, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, calcium, zinc, and magnesium.  Unfortunately many doctors, including my own doctor at the time, don't do extensive follow up testing for a broad range of nutrient deficiencies, nor recommend that those just diagnosed with celiac disease take a broad spectrum vitamin/mineral supplement, which would greatly benefit most, if not all, newly diagnosed celiacs. Because of this it took me decades to overcome a few long-standing issues I had that were associated with gluten ataxia, for example numbness and tingling in my feet, and muscle knots--especially in my shoulders an neck. Only long term extensive supplementation has helped me to resolve these issues.
