Who was having lunch wif somebody that had FB problems?? Em, was that you?? I'm looking for the details. What happened?

Friends down the street are getting a golden retriever pup in two weeks . . . so we will be able to partake in the joys of a new puppy (romping wif abandon and puppy kisses) without the misery of a new puppy (bedtime whining, 2 am potty breaks, wet spots on the carpet that you don't see until you've stepped in it) . . .:lol: . . . I can't wait.

Our lunch was postponed until next week, but in her email to reschedule she did tell me that hackers got into her profile and began sending "horrific" messages to all of her friends, her photos were sent everywhere and she began getting messages from people she did not know. Evidence of phishing appeared, as well. I'll get more details when I see her. She's a sensible person who did not put up much information on her profile, so it remains frightening.... . .

Hey, looks like we might try renting a house in Maine next year for our family vacation. We go with friends from Cincinnati. Any recommendations? . . . Places to stay, restaraunts, "must-sees" or "don't bother wifs". Bev, I was thinking you may have wondered up there a time or two.

We figure we'll be around Acadia National Park somewhere . . . I'm having a hard time navigating my atlas. There's a bazillion towns along the coast . . . all with populations under 1000 and everyone of them gets a dot. . . . I bought reading glasses . . .

No, this is Caramel. She's not a really big cat, but she looks huge in the picture. the Thinkpad is 12" wide by 10" deep. She weighs about nine pounds. :)

An unusual day here. I am at the store, but not really working. I'm just here as backup in case the newest hire needs support. <_<

Day 28 of the strike, and still no end in sight. The only thing is sight is more piles of garbage. :(

Gawd, yes! There's the best idea........I stay drunk all the time. Then everybody is so much easier to tolerate... . .. . ....!

Ummmm . . . . . . because now they're only hammered every so often???

. . . we're gonna spike the punch later after the "baby" goes home.

And if you stay drunk, you'll never get a hangover.

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING SILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

I see that everyone is in phine phettle

but this is all I've read - got catching up to do.......not now, however. Am recovering from an entirely insomniatic weekend (got back late last night and SLEPT 10 hours straight in me own bed - twas a dream!!!!!!) and staying in my cool, darkened bedroom (about 110 here today, I think?)

We had some trauma on the trip and.....Weezee got kicked out of Sophie's mom's/uncles'condo  there was screaming on the phone (from her mom) and a really psychotic attack - was very, very sad and traumatic (her mom is CRAZY) so.....we stayed at Reese's, five minutes away. He took us to dinner on Friday night.........we had such a wonderful time. Aptos.....he lives across the street from a golf course in a huge thicken of eucalyptus and redwoods, etc - coastal fog and COLD breezes, mixed with sun -

'TWAS PARADISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found my house over there - now all I need is 700K to buy it :(

<must buy lottery tickets>

will catch up later - going to "nap" now  and watch my cable - OH!!! they took away all me many channels - no more HBO movies - - I am sooooooooooooooo relieved

 later, sills

Dear gawd, POeter, this is hanus. It must absolutely smell hanus in many parts of the city. Windsor is at 100 days, are they not, of no garbage pick-up?

Unions! BAH!:angry:Excuse the foray into political waters. ..... .. ..

Speaking of which, got a good look at Barack last evening on Anderson Cooper's report on The President in Africa. Man, he's got such an athletic, smooth, refined carriage - - haven't found the right adjective ... .. . ..... .he moves like a big, lanky yet graceful lion......the king that he is, I suppose..... . . .

This did not strike me when Obama was here in Ottawa. Perhaps t'was because he was here in February and he had his shoulders up around his ears, pounding his feet on the snow, pulling his Armani scarf tighter around his neck.. .. . . ..

Ya just can't look sexy, it would seem, in Ottawa. <_<

Jyaghnutt! We camped in Maine and Vermont many years ago. An incredible part of New England.....you will love it!

Not to your part of Canada I'm afraid, and would love to do that too!! I could brush up on my French before I came. I once dated a guy from Toronto; does that count? No, haven't been east of the Rockies in Canada; the western part is much more accessible from CA.

All right, I must recount to you all what transpired a couple of nights ago, the evening before MIL flew home. We were at the B and SIL's place for dinner, with in-laws literally everywhere I looked.

MIL was discussing how challenging it can be driving any great distances during the long winters up in Whitehorse where she lives. The Trans-Canada Highway is a main thoroughfare, and actually stretches right across the prairies into Ontario.

Listening along, I suddenly piped up, "Well, you must spend a lot of time on the Trans-Vaginal Highway".

:o

AND.... . . . ...I did NOT even realize what I had said. Everyone was staring silently at me (which they do very frequently anyway), and I then began to frantically replay the conversation in my head. I gasped, and started larfing hysterically.

Alone. Larfing hysterically alone.

I wonder what the speed limit is on that roadway? Long and winding, or direct? Any detours?

I would hope it is well-groomed and maintained.

Testing can't alone be trusted.  Else why would it take so many years of testing and retesting and misdiagnosis to finally be told, yes you have Celiac Disease. As to what to eat, I like pre 1950 style food.  Before the advent of TV dinners.  Fresh food is better for you, and cooking from scratch is cheaper.  Watch Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals for how to cook.  Keep in mind that she is not gluten free, but her techniques are awesome.  Just use something else instead of wheat, barley, rye. Dr Fuhrman is a ex cardiologist.  His book Eat to Live and Dr Davis' book Wheatbelly were instrumental in my survival.

If you have DH you will likely also want to avoid iodine, which is common in seafoods and dairy products, as it can exacerbate symptoms in some people. This article may also be helpful as it offers various ways to relieve the itch--thanks for the tip about Dupixent, and I've added it to the article:

I just want to clarify that what I posted is a category of research summaries we've done over the years, and nearly each one shows that there is definitely a connection to celiac disease and migraine headaches. The latest study said: "the study did indicate some potential causal associations between celiac disease and migraine with or without aura, as well as between migraine without aura and ulcerative colitis...this study did not find evidence of a shared genetic basis..." Anyway, there is definitely a connection, and you can go through more of the articles here if you're interested: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/migraine-headaches-and-celiac-disease/

Two months ago, I started taking Dupixent for dermatitis herpetiformis and it has completely cleared it up. I can't believe it! I have had a terrible painful, intensely itchy rash for over a year despite going fully gluten-free. See if your doctor will prescribe Dupixent. It can be expensive but I am getting it free. When the dermatitis herpetiformis was bad I could not do anything. I just lay in bed covered in ice packs to ease the pain/itching and using way too Clobetasol. Dapsone is also very good for dermatitis herpetiformis (and it is generic). It helped me and the results were immediate but it gave me severe anemia so the Dupixent is better for me. Not sure if it works for everyone. I cannot help with the cause of your stress but from experience I am sure the severe stress is making the celiac and dermatitis herpetiformis worse. Very difficult for you with having children to care for and you being so sick. Would this man be willing to see a family therapist with you? He may be angry at you or imagine that your illness is a psychosomatic excuse not to take care of him. A therapist might help even if he won't go with you. Also do you have any family that you could move in with (with the kids) for a short time to get away? A break may be good for you both.

@tiffanygosci, Thiamine deficiency is a thing in pregnancy for "normal" people, so it's exponentially more important for those with celiac disease and malabsorption issues. I studied nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology because I was curious what the vitamins were doing inside the body.  See my blog.  Click on my name to go to my page, scroll to drop down menu "activities" and select blog.   So glad you're motivated to see the dietician!  We're always happy to help with questions.  Keep us posted on your progress!
