Anyhoo - was rudely reminded by lunchtime, with a call from his tutor, telling me they were sending him home 'cos of bad attitude

This is destined to be my son. He just turned 4 and has become a very good liar. Dd, very bad liar, ds-totally believe what he says. Convinced my stepdad to come up to his room to see his new flatscreen... ...#1-like I'd buy the kid a flatscreen, #2-I can see it now, he's a teenager, luring girls into his room to see his "big-screen".....can you say JUVIE!!!??? Told my sister (on the same day) that his new favorite thing to do is steal toys from his friends' houses so he can play with them at home :o:o

What am I gonna do???!!!

Welcome back all whov been gone. I haven't been gone and still don't get it (slo on the uptake).

Mon, I tend to stare at the wall, kinda like shell-shock. If Mon is Tues, It's even worser. That's cuz I've spent 3 days with my DH, who is a hard man. And not in the good way. Evan massive amounts of wodka would not help the total obliteration of my sole!

Oh, well. So, DC is 4. My lil sis was 5 the first time the cops came to the house. She had climbed up a phone pole, broke the glas and set off the fire alarm. The next year we were at a big lake and she decided to "hide" under a diving-bored. They emptied the lake. peeps were running around, yeling and screemin and panicking. They dragged the entire lake. She didn't make a peep till they were done and everyone thaght she was dead. Fast forward. At 15, she was declared an emancipated minor and let home. She's 60 now and quite successful. So there's hope!

Juday, Juday, Juday, you've got to sell that house before you go stark-raving mad, if you haven't already.

Got nuttin. Just starin at the walls.

Where's Jyaghnutt? She's got in-lars descending.... . . .she needs to be checking in.....

And Joooooles.... . . ..... .. :( Just catch a glimpse of her now and again on Da Book.....

.. ..Rayechull, too!

God No! He is an obssesive bastard who has prayed on little kids for years. His sweaters are actually made from the hair of our small childs. I actually had one that claimed to maerry him at 2- She was 49, but they got married at 2:00 Pm. Never mind! I live too near a scool for him to be my nabor.

A madman, I know, I know.. . . ......that look in his eyes. . . ..... ..and that mailman of his.. . . .......they were heavily into organized crime together, I am sure. Arms deals, laundering........they hid the guns and drugs in those puppets -- Lady Elaine and the King. They sent off all of their heinous, dirty contraband on that innocent-looking little train that chugged through the set. It all makes shocking sense, now. . . . .. .

OMG youse two

Is my body clock ok?? ....up at 6.00am for the school run (*shudder*)..... have a pheeling I may keel over and need a pm nap WITH Tiger Pig )

Oh! how cozy!!!!! I'll be over at 6 ;)

Maybe once kiddo gets off to school in the morning, I shall start drinking myself into oblivion, or shop, me needs some good alone shopping time. Hubby would probly rather I empty the vodka from the freezer.

I could join ya, but gots no wodka........but yeah, give hubby the choice......vodka, or shopping!

You might consider asking for a referral to a RD (Registered Dietician) to help with food choices and planning a diet. Even apart from any gluten issues, you will likely find there are some foods you need to avoid because of the shorter bowel but you may also find that your system may make adjustments over time and that symptoms may improve.
    • Ello
I wish Dr’s would have these discussions with their patients. So frustrating but will continue to do research. Absolutely love this website. I will post any updates on my testing and results.  Thank you

Losing 12" of your small bowel is going to present challenges for you in nutritional uptake because you are losing a significant amount of nutritional absorption surface area. You will need to focus on consuming foods that are nutritionally dense and also probably look at some good supplements. If indeed you are having issues with gluten you will need to educate yourself as to how gluten is hidden in the food supply. There's more to it than just avoiding the major sources of gluten like bread and pasta. It is hidden in so many things you would never expect to find it in like canned tomato soup and soy sauce just to name a few. It can be in pills and medications.  Also, your "yellow diarrhea, constipation and bloating" though these are classic signs of a gluten disorder, could also be related to the post surgical shorter length of your small bowel causing incomplete processing/digestion of food.
    • Ello
Yes this information helps. I will continue to be pro active with this issues I am having. More testing to be done. Thank you so much for your response.
    • trents
There are two gluten-related disorders that share many of the same symptoms but differ in nature from each other. One is known as celiac disease or "gluten intolerance". By nature, it is an autoimmune disorder, meaning the ingestion of gluten triggers the body to attack it's own tissues, specifically the lining of the small bowel. This attack causes inflammation and produces antibodies that can be detected in the blood by specific tests like the TTG-IGA test you had. Over time, if gluten is not withheld, this inflammation can cause severe damage to the lining of the small bowel and even result in nutrient deficiency related health issues since the small bowel lining is organ where all the nutrition found in our food is absorbed.  The other is NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity or just "gluten sensitivity") which we know less about and are unsure of the exact mechanism of action. It is not an autoimmune disorder and unlike celiac disease it does not damage the lining of the small bowel, though, like celiac disease, it can cause GI distress and it can also do other kinds of damage to the body. It is thought to be more common than celiac disease. Currently, we cannot test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out to arrive at a diagnosis of NCGS. Both disorders require elimination of gluten from the diet.  Either of these disorders can find their onset at any stage of life. We know that celiac disease has a genetic component but the genes are inactive until awakened by some stress event. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% develop active celiac disease. The incidence of NCGS is thought to be considerably higher. I hope this helps.
