T'is no wonder you is having an identity crisis :o Psoozle, Soozle, Pseuss, DingoGirl, dern it, who the heck am I? Is I Suze, Susan, Psilllllee??? : Just call yerselph "All of the Above", especially Psilly

Reading this book called Colours: Travels through the Paintbox, tracing the origins of all the pigments used by the original artists, from the oxides used by the aborigines in Australia to the ultramarine in Afghanistan. Just moving on to indigo (I skipped the greens for now because blue is me favourite colour ) Fascinating stuff (pour moi, anyway). Takes you all over the world.

Shroomie :)

yes, identity crisis, indeed!!!

and.... :o so funny that you mention taht book......JUST YESTERDAY I was thinking about origins of colours....pigments......etc...........and then you say you are reading that!! I will look into it on half.com and.......maybe have some energy to read again

hi sillies

I'm just poping in

can't get my fingers to work

never been so tired in my life but after last nites and all day horrible constant rain..........I'm ready to get the Heck out of PA and into sunny CA

just skimed the posts as 6 pages behind and not time

packed from 9:30 and still going and of yes did eat the dinner I put in the crock pot

ohhhhhhhh I can imagine how exhausted you are, Judith - did you buy a house in California?? I don't even KNOW!

Yes, the future's so bright, ya gotta wear shades! B)

You must get yourself a good doc, hopefully the Armour one, and get your physical self straightened out and then the rest, I am sure, will take care of itself. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I am so sad about Sophie. I lost my bestest friend three years ago, and it leaves one so bereft, as bad as losing yer marital partner, yet ye get no condolences or support for it because it is such a private thing and no one knows the suffering. I still miss her every day...

Shroom, did your best friend DIE??? it sounds like it......that is sooooooooooo sad. :( Condolences if this is the case. but - Sophie did not die. Lives right here in Fresno. She didn't even do a formal "dumping" or "breakup" either. Just......what we call a "fadeout" and she is DONE. With me. :( It may be forever, I am sure I wore her out.

Sooooze, I was thinking about you all last night. Funny how we mentally latch onto one small info-byte - - I kept thinking, "Jeez, Sooooze hasn't walked the Weeze since Monday... . ..things must be grim". I think you said that your appointment with the new doc is this coming week. Good!

Thanks, Emmel :) Weez is NOT used to this sedentary lifestyle......she lets out big whiney sighs throughout the day :(

OMG running a 10K this morning? that just makes me soooooooo tired to think about

Good luck!

Suze . . . we're here for ya . . . . . . in sickness or in health . . . for richer or poorer . . . GAH!!!! we're married!!!!

we're MARRIED??? well, then you must all get over here and cook and clean, fer pete's sake

PADS!!!!!!!! congrats on the HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! we will need pics soon, luv.....good luck unpacking!!!

psillies- There is fear in the house as I accidentally took a sip of a pumpkin martini last night before realizing it was rimmed with GRAHAM CRACKER crust  It wasn't even tasty enough to make it worth the potential heinANUSness that is to come! Hold tight- could be a long, farty day!

oh no! :o

and - :gag: that drink sounds positively VOMITOUS, what wiv the graham cracker crumbs and all.....

WHERE IS SLEEZIO??????????? and RACHELLE??????????? and have we lost Mimmsy forever? :( Hate it when Sillies go missing.........

Just got up, going to the couch now :( Must go to Janey's later.....muster some strength.....

thanks for the kind words, me sills

Oh the wee baby smell

You know sumfin'? I MUCH, MUCH prefer the incredible, heady new-puppy smell......now, IT just does something to me. . . . .........:wub:

And actually, I have to admit that I think puppies are far, far cuter than human babies.

Really! I'm quite something, I suppose, to be thinkin' that.. . . ...

BEVEL'S BEEN GLUTENED! Oh, yuck... . . . . . sorry to hear this, Bev. Batten down the hatches... .. . . .

So far, all is quiet on the Farty Front. I'm very very very tired and achey, but waiting to see. Last time it happened, all I got was the big C. 5 years ago I would have been snockered and vomitous for days so I guess this amounts to progress!

If we're married, does that make King Pieter a SERIOUS polygamist? Or are we split into harems between him and Ptaum. Where's Tom? He's be happy to know he has a harem.

I think Pieter and Ptaum are very brave to be amongst this phairly phemale thread (although there IS much talk about thumbs and what not)..

Uh-oh- Canadian Karen, Altoids and the oral sex thread have made an appearance once again. NOW batten down the hatches   :lol:

I think they're trying to kill poor Skaught!

I would ask for a collective PRAYER or good thoughts or whatever you do for this:

PSEUzle sweetheart :( ... no need to even ask.... we psillies are the collective (like the Borg?) and feel your pain ♥

I am seeing a doctor next week who was listed as a doctor on the Armour thyroid site as one who prescribes same. He is supposed to be excellent, and just may do the correct thyroid/adrenal tests, but I don't know. We all know how frustrating it can be with doctors, and those grey-area issues. :(

Got me fingers double crossed for you lady!! ;)

Dear gaaaawd...did someone say the 'Altoids' thread reared it's head again?????:unsure:

How did the runners do Em?

Bevel drinking gluten cocktails?? ...... battening down the hatches AS we speak luv ;)

Hi all!!! Bye all!!! (t'is bed time ALREADY!!)

Later peeps ;)

Night Nik -_- . . . oh, and the altoids thread is apparently long deleted gone . . . they are referring to the oral sex thread . . . much more tasty tasteful acceptable topic :P

 I'm here to avoid laundry and scraping black tarlike adhesive off me bathroom wall. We took down a big (glued on) mirror and replacing it wif a loverly framed one . . . doin' that update thang that some people do wif there houses once in a while.

Whew!.....busy weekend!

Visit with Alexis on Saturday....got to hold her. She's already trying to hold her head up!

Then a Halloween party that night. Brian and I went as pirates. Brian, of course, going the peg-leg route. There was a magician, two psychics, and a charicature drawer--charicaturist?---and, of course, dancing :D

Sunday---more dancing!

Hopefully, Mom and baby will be coming home on Monday. Alexis has been in intensive care. She has jaundice, which is making her a lazy eater.

Back to work on Monday. <_<

Hang in there, Sooze.......I know you'll find the answers you need.....and we DO stick together thru everyone's worst moments in life.

So many psillies starting new chapters in their lives.......no jobs, new jobs, moving out, moving in..........mentalpause :P .......hang in there, everyone!

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.

It could be a fructan intolerance? How do you do with dates?  https://www.dietvsdisease.org/sorry-your-gluten-sensitivity-is-actually-a-fructan-intolerance/
    • Lkg5
Thank’s for addressing the issue of mushrooms.  I was under the impression that only wild mushrooms were gluten-free.  Have been avoiding cultivated mushrooms for years. Also, the issue of smoked food was informative.  In France last year, where there is hardly any prepared take-out food that is gluten-free, I tried smoked chicken.  Major mistake!
