Soooo tired! Bro & wife are coming in from Bend, OR for the week. The only time we can see them is tomorrow at lunch. So everyoneis coming here! Making taco type stuff. Also, trying to get stuff started for hub's office party Wed. Went to grocery ( busy place), made 2 kinds of truffles, cookies for tomorrow, taco hamburger meat, hub grilled chicken for tacos, made peanut brittle, twice. The first time, poured the hot brittle on wax paper thinking it would be easy to pull off. Wrong! Paper stuck to it! Cooling the second batch on the porch so I can break it up tonight. ZZZZZ....

M woke up this early this am with barfage. Probably stomach virus. Wish I could blame gluten but I can't. So no one is coming over. I have 3 lbs of cooked taco hamburger meat and 5 of grilled chicken, 48 corn tortillas, 54 hard tao shells, 3 doz pumpkin spice cookies, 3 doz pb choc chip cookies, batch of peanut brittle, 2 large bags of chips, 3 red peppers, 2 heads of lettuce, 3 jars of salsa.

Fortunately, most will keep or freeze. Just running out of freezer space.

J has been Chloraxing.

I'm thinking " freezer" & " Xmas dinner"

Poor kid. Can't stop with the dry vomiting. He hasn't had anything in his stomach all day except the tiny bit of water from rinsing his mouth.

Crossing fingers. Spillage seems to have stopped. Gave him Enterol and it seems to be soothing. He feels like doing homework. Maybe he is seriously ill?

Low-eee! Well, at least your GI spent some time with you, and has been listening. :) Hope the meds help! So often, IBS is a symptom of celiac. Now, those fibRE meds are all gluten-free, right??

Yay, Jyessss! Must have missed this, though - - what part are you playing?

This is going viral...so thrilled. The best flash mob I have yet seen - - happened in Welland, Ontario, a couple of weeks ago:

Opening night went fabulously. Full house. Excited audience. Great breakfast afterwards. Only eight more shows to go.

What play is it and what is your role? Hope BE is attending and presenting you with bouquets of roses. rolleyes.gif

So sorry to hear about M. If Tony ever barfs up something he'll never eat that food again. Even at 19. Sending healing hugs and a big bottle of Clorox your way.

P.S. glad you can freeze most of it!

Well, the tale of spillage continues. This may not be news at your house, but no one gets sick, almost never, at our house. He was feeling better, starting having a couple of sips of Gatorade and water. I went to J's football banquet. Got a pitiful text that he barfed. Said he didn't need me, he was going to sleep. He is dehydrated so he has a headache but a few sips of water make him feel like vomiting. He is trying to sleep with a water bottle for whenever he can sip. Poor kid. Hope he is drinking in the am. He's bigger than me so I can't carry him to the car.

Hope no one else gets sick as Hub's office party at our house is Wed. <_<

I hope he feels better soon, Karreighn. That is miserable, poor kid :(

Yep--our phamily too. With me it was rice (of all things), Mark--german chocolate cake, and our son swears he will never again eat apple pie.

I eat rice now, but from 5th grade till I was probably in my early 20's I wouldn't go near it.

Jestgar Rising Star

Poor guy. I hope he's over it soon.

Opening weekend went well. I'm running the light board for sound of music, so not in the play. Screwed up the wedding spotlight today :( but managed to not put everyone in the dark in my panic. :P

BE and his daughter are coming to the show next weekend although he took me out to dinner Friday before the show and I showed him the little light booth where I have to climb up the bunk bed ladder onto the platform and sit and do my homework while listening for cues. He climbed up inside and was greatly entertained by the graffiti on the walls.

Last full week of school. Just have to manage to get through the last homework.

O, Kareng I'm SO sorry he's not feeling better. I think I hate barfing more than D (although they do run neck and neck). Does ginger ale help?

I just finished washing the sheets and towels from my brother and SIL's visit. We did an early Christmas exchange and put up the (fake) tree. We didn't decorate it. Klark and I are going to do that tonight. We also lit the Chanukah candles and my brother and I couldn't remember the prayer to save our lives. Went to see Due Date. I highly recommend it (especially if you feel the way I do about Robert Downey Jr. - he's my Russell Brand).

I had to take real pain killers to be able to participate in any activities but it was worth it. Now I'm back to letting the pain rule. Don't want to get hooked on prescription meds (the oxy's). Had some left from my old GI.

The girl I'm tutoring is due in about a half hour. I don't think her mother is doing her a service by home schooling. All I can do is try to do my best and undo some of the things her mom taught her out of order. Still in the testing phase. I have to get her to the point where she knows the sight words (kindergarten and up). I had thought about taking an online course for a certificate program in dyslexia but it costs $440 and i just don't know that I can afford it. The program would guide me but my bank account is screaming "don't do it!!!"

Hope M is feeling better when I check back online.

Sick kid report: won't drink much cause it makes his stomach upset. If he doesn't start drinking soon, it's off to the ER for an IV.

That scared him! He has been sucking on ice and just peed to prove he is Ok.

Thanks for your sympathy.

Good idea. Right now he has graduated to 6 Rice Chex and some apple juice (in a dark cup with a lid and a straw so he doesn't know how much is in it). I'm tricky! ;)

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
    • nanny marley
I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
