Well thank goodness!! I've got you in surgery, Mark flying in and I'm all nervous

I trust all went as planned and the doc is happy? Do you think you'll really go into work tomorrow?

Hope it's a wonderful day for everyone! That the boxes are big enough for all your goods and plenty of em (for the movers), that Ms. Sarai Stress forgets what you look like, that the best job you ever had jumps up to grab all who are looking (and maybe some who don't know they are looking), That we ALL suddenly realize that, Hey, I PHEEL GRATE!!! And then to continue to pheel that way everyday!

 a lurvely Psillie Blessing

Reesee! Deer in yer yard? what I wouldn't give..... :( Of course, if they ATE everythign, I wouldn't be so happy, I guess......

and Jess - KNEE SURGERY? WIH? we never hoid anything about it, did we??

well, she's home, the goo is gone, and she's got drugs.......send the extra GOO to me boobs (I'll take it, articulating or no  ) and the extra drugs for me.....kitteh

I've decided he has schizo-affective issues and possible dual personality disorder.....did I tell you this already? I LOVE him

and - speaking of the Wee P - - well, we have collar issues. I bought him his first collar, a very cheap ($5) green - matched his eyes. Well, this kept falling off and was finally never seen again.......somewhere in my house but dunno where.

So - I bought him one yesterday, a $10 darling striped thing. Fell off of him about.......four times last night. Stupid buckle is SO meant for safety issues that it doesn't even stay closed. this is being returned to the store.

Well, on the way home from work, I passed by a POSH dog boutique, and went in there.

Peanut is now sporting a black leather very tiny dog collar with bling. Three tiny diamond skulls  and a blinged-out buckle. This set me back $23, <_< but should last forever and not fall off. I cannot BEAR the thought of Little P getting out and not having identification......will also have him micro-chipped later.

Because, alas, I can NOT find the little metal $6 name tag I had engraved at the pet store yesterday, which was put in my coin purse and now, is not there.

<um - I vaguely remember taking it out last night to adorn the malfunctioning collar and - if Kitteh ever saw it, God only knows where it is now. and I have to spend ANOTHER $6, at whcih point you KNOW I will promptly find it <_< >

dear God - I bet yer all riveted to yer screens from this topic..........

and Les Lye was in The Phamily Guy AND Phatal Attraction!!!!!!! now THAT is sumphin

Hey! Excellent....Should be all kinds of druggy postings from Jess over the next couple o' days. . . . ..

 certainly hope so

Leesargh! Praying for hubby's job.........such scary times. :(

Not too late. Heading out in about 15 minutes. A bunch of hospitals here are all within 5 blocks of each other, including the one where I work, so I'll be walking to my knee surgery

that don't make no sense........

I'm just poopin in to say hi, I been busy lately. I was reading about the 'whiz' conflict, thought I might just straighten all that out for everyone.

Whiz: Brainiac. Noun. As in, "Math Whiz."

Wizz: Pee. Noun/verb. As in, "Take a wizz.''

Whizz: Something flying past your head at high speed makes this noise. Adverb(I think). As in, "The Frisbee whizzed pasted my head."

There, hope that clears it up for ya!!!!

well thanks Bun-knee!!!!!!!!

I'm home! Cat's are thrilled.

They shot my knee up with pain killers, so, for the moment, life is grand

excellent  Maybe have a little wine to enhance things

In other news - -

SILLIES - I'd like to confess report a binge of pretty epic proportions.

Yesterday aft I went to Target and, among other things, purchased a FULL-SIZED bag of Baked Lays, and a bag of mini Snickers.

By early this morning, both bags - yes I said BOTH - were completely gone.

 x 100

Pretty wild binge, even for me, when usually only ONE of two bags would have been entirely consumed.

and, in saner days, only HALF of one bag would have been consumed in a binge.

what. is. happening. to. me.

So I'm on a cleansing diet now....... *yawn*

SUSIE!!!

Get a collar that is breakaway/stretchy/get-outable. Cats go places they shouldn't go, and WP needs a collar that won't strangle him if his neck gets stuck somewhere.

I'm not going in to work tomorrow. Planning on working from home, but that depends on the effects of the narcotics. Didn't see the bottle, but my brother was quite impressed with the dose.:unsure:

Lil' P is stylin'!!! B)

Years ago we bought Allo a collar and a name tag--we had a fenced in yard at the time and although it was highly unlikely he could escape, we did it just in case.

He hated the thing--and it wasn't long before he came in one day without it. We never found the collar or the tag. We phigure he probably scraped it against the cement supports under the deck er sumphin until he was rid of it.

Thanks, everyone, for the support and prayers..........keepin me chin up :)

Many of the school systems around here are cutting back on teachers and assistants. So far ours has not, and word is, will not need to. Even if they did, my job should be secure as long as Jo doesn't move out of the district. We are just so thankful to be working :)

:o OMG - okay........I'm going to trade this one in then, at that stupid posh pet store. There was a green breakaway one, it did look a little girly to me, and he is NOT a girly kitteh, peanuts or no

:o:o

Thank Gawd for me sills.......without reading this, I'd have kept his macho skull collar....and you just never know......tomorrow we go get teh sparkly green one (not too sparkly) for a mere FOUR DOLLARS less <_<

I found his striped reject collar underneath my desk just now, and it had been put in a safe place for return. There is no tellign where his little name tag is and what sort of kitty gymnastics went on in its projectile displacement. <_<

Morning Psillies!!!!

Spring's coming!!...I can SMELL it!!! :D

Souzhee!!!.....I've got to admit I'm NOT a fan of cat collars ........I once had to rescue a neighboUrs kitt-eh who nearly strangled himself getting his back leg caught in his own collar (and gave himself a horrific 'collar cut' on his neck :( )

Loved your binge BTW!! :P:lol: <snickers =>

Spring cleaning today - stripping ALL the beds AND washing pillows  (too poor to buy new ones!)

Patti - is Mark home??...I know you said he was due to land??

Good Morning, Early Psillies!

Oh, Psills.....not a good evening last night........

Got a call from me BEST, oldest friend ...... . .she was diagnosed yesterday with cervical cancer. :(:( They have told her that it looks to be in the early stages, and she's been booked in for a complete ovio-hysterectomy April 1st. So, I sat and drank wif 'er. .. . .. ....she seems okay, just shellshocked.

At least it's cervical, not uterine or ovarian. .. . .....high cure rates, etc.

Poor, poor thing, as she has other health issues. . . . . ...

Okay, on with psilly drivel . . . .....!

If there appears to be no room for silliness in a situation, avoid it altogether.

Yep! 'Tis SO true, and worth repeating! :D

Breakaway cat collars. .. . . .. ..I, too, feel much more comfortable knowing my cats' collars would snap off if they were hanging from a tree, however I went through FOUR of these things with Bryce and TWO with Tess.....they are outdoor cats, and I'd put a new breakaway collar on them adorned with their new $8.00 ID tags, and within a couple of days they'd come into the house with the collar gone.

It was getting just too expensive.

None of them were found <_< .....have no idea where they came off, as these cats travel very little. Quite bizarre. So, I'm afraid I have little regular collars on them, and have not had any trouble. Sometimes I think about keeping them collarless, as they are microchipped. . . . ....

So there you are.

Pahteigh! is your Mark a' home?

Em . . . sorry 'bout yer phrend . . . will keep her in my thoughts and I hope all works out well.

Cat callers??? . . . I just go with the "Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty" . . . Oh, you said collars . . . well, that's different!

Em, please ask Jack this . . . Have you ever wondered why we say 'Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty' but not Here Doggy, Doggy, Doggy'? . . . annnnnnnnd . . . Why do most cats respond when that's not their name??

Mornin pholkses! Glad to hear that everybody is hanging in there! Successful Knee surgery and a drug-induced euphoria. Perhaps you phlew home instead of walking? Em...so sad to hear about your friend and the big, bad scary issues. How lucky she is to have you close by to offer support! Glad they found it early!!!

Psuessly....your binges :P . The ONE drawback for me in healing is that I can no longer eat everything and anything. When I first started this lovely diet I craved, absolutely could not live without, high fat items. Chocolate had an almost nonexistant survival rate in this house. I even groused at Telehubby for cutting fats off from meats before cooking!!!! I mowed through any bags of chips that made it's way into the house. I've never had cravings like that....not even when I was pregnant! Pretty much over that finally (thank God), because now I'm absorbing all that crap.

We all luuuuv li'l P....so de-bone-air in tophat and collar! But yes, collars may not be a good idea if he's and outside cat. I like the microchip idea. Do they make those for 2 legged kids, too?

The deer are beautiful! I've tried many things to keep them away from my gardens. The latest is coffee grounds! They have discovered my pond some time ago...and now I have multiple holes in the lining. I plan on re-doing all off the edges....sloping and cover with soil to protect the plastic. From what I hear is that they are having trouble finding enough to eat (low acorn production, mostly) and so they are resorting to anyting else they can find...even stuff they wouldn't eat otherwise.

Phergot everything else. Will probbly think of it all while in the grocery store. Have I mentioned that I hate shopping?

Morning All Sillies-

Oh Em very sorry to hear about your friend- but cervical cancer has the highest cure rate and it is very known unlike lung and liver cancers where there is not a lot of tx's.

Morning Paddeigh- did Mark arrive home?

Today is the last day at the apartment- our walk-out is @ 3. I can't wait to give the keys back and then never return there. On the housing front- John and I just learned we qualified for the 1st time home owners tax credit of 8,000. We are allowed to claim it on our 2008 taxes as well. We have decided to pay off our one big credit card with it. They hiked my interest to 32%...I have never even been late.....I am so upset with them! I think something needs to be done with the credit card companies...

Early this morning there was a water pipe bust in the hospital on our end--and so now the whole 1st floor is soaked in this one hall. Plus since it started 1 floor above in my hall ours is a disaster- luckily we dont have any water in the office! But now we dont have fire alarms or sprinklers till this all gets fixed--and the heat is all off--so it is hotter in here than a jungle...crazy!!!!!

I guess I best I need to get some work started- its 9 already and I am leaving after 1.

Bye sillies!

As I was walking a million miles to the bathroom just now since there has been a new flood since I wrote the first time--who is high on their post count that could have caused this Phluid Phrenzy! To take down a portion of a hospital is pretty high ya think?

In response to your questions regarding probiotics.  I have had Celiac for 40 years.  Stomach issues: digestion, IBS to chronic constipation, bloat after eating anything.  I was unable to eat a healthy variety of foods, tried probiotics supplements - some made me worse, others made no difference.  After reading about people with Crones, IBS, etc, who made their own probiotics I started making Milk Kefir: not water Kefir. There are 10 probiotics in milk KEFIR. After 3 weeks I was able to eat more, no gas, no IBS.  If you have a computer just ask for videos on making milk Kefir. I branched out and make my own Kombucha for even more probiotics. I do not make my yogurt because there are only about four probiotics in that. I started this when I was 82 and I still make my own Kefir and Kombucha. My stomach issues were fixed with the Milk Kefir alone. If you decide to try making it, make certain you order MILK GRAINS. The finished product tastes a bit like Buttermilk. I hope this helps in your journey to good health.

Help me out here. Lauren Dam gluten-free beer from Spain is listed as gluten free. Yet its made from Barley Malt. I thought barley and any form had gluten. Anybody have any more information about it?

Ferritin levels.  And see what your hemoglobin looks like too, that will tell you if you are anemic?  You can have 'low normal' levels that will not be flagged by blood tests.  I had 'low normal' levels, my lab reading was. c12, just over what was considered normal, but I had small benign lesion on my tongue, and sometimes a sore mouth, and a consultant maxillofacial ordered an iron infusion for me as he felt my levels were too low and if he  raised them to 40, it would help.   Because you are not feeling 100% it might be worth looking at your levels, then discussing with your doctor if they are low normal.  But I stress, don't supplement iron without your levels being monitored, too much is dangerous.

Hi Katht -  I sympathize with your struggles in following a gluten-free diet and lifestyle. I found out that I had Celiac Disease a few months before I turned 70. I just turned 89 and it has taken me almost 20 years to attain a fairly normal intestinal  function. I also lost a lot of weight, down to 100 lb. down from about 140 lb. What Trents wrote you was very true for me. I am still elimination foods from my diet. One person suggested you keep a food diary and that is a good idea but it is probably best just to do an elimination diet. There are several ne and maybe one for celiacs. I used one for a while and started with plain rice and zucchini and then added back other foods to see if I reacted or not. That helped a great deal but what I did not realise that it would only very small amounts of some foods to cause inflammation in my intestine. Within the last few years I have stopped eating any trace amounts of hot peppers, corn and soy(mostly in supplements) and nuts, (the corn in Tylenol was giving me stomach aches and the nuts were causing foot pains). Starting an elimination diet with white rice is better than brown rice that has some natural toxins. In addition it is very important to drink sufficient plain water. You can find out how much to drink for your height and weight online. I do have difficulty drinking 48 ounces of water but just recently have found an electrolyte supplement that helps me stay well hydrated, Adding the water and electrolytes may reduce muscle cramps and gag spams you wrote about. . Also buy some anti-gluten enzyme capsules to take with meals. I use GliadinX advertised here. These are a lot of things to do at one time as they reflect my 20 years of experience. I hope you do what you can manage to do over time. Good luck and take care.
