HAPPY THANKSGIVING fellow cills! Had one turkey dinner at MIL, now at second one at daughters! And I'm stuffed! Didn't have to drive far, though. How the heck is everyone. Miss chatting with yall. Miss everything but nuttins changed - just getting poorer and poorer, but in good spirits. Hope all of you eat till yer sick, like I am. And to my non- American sillies - You have permission to eat like pigs, to.

Later

Sleezen :D

Tis quite quiet here this morning. Methinks all our American phriends must be sleeping off yesterday's turkey, or making forays into the world of shopping.

Here in Canada, it is just another Friday.

We took Oliver to the vet this morning because his sugars were running high again. Poor guy has another infection, this time in his right ear. So we are starting another two-week course of antibiotics. :(

We're off to the store in a while. We will take tomorrow off, giving us our last weekend off until after Christmas.

Poor Ollie, POeter! :(

Our first crappy day weather-wise in a loooooonnnnng time.......mild, but rain, rain rain.

Oh, well. One does not have to shovel rain. <_<

I wanna go hang out wif Jyesss!!

Were you wearing classic two-piece flannels, with big wooden buttons down the front and cuffed pants? Trap door? SUCH fantastic drinking attire... . . . .. . . ..!! Actually, fantastic fer doing just about anything. Getting groceries, doing weights, trip to the theatre, job interview...... . ...... ..a do-all ensemble.

Jestgar Rising Star

My friend who arranged it said the point was to be comfortable. I had flannel bottoms and satiny/sleezy top wif a sweatshirt over all. Jammies are the way to go if yer drinkin', and if you over-indulge you're prepared to pass out anywhere...

Hi peeps :D Just a quick poop-in. Having the greatest time up here. Met some friends for coffee this afternoon. Saw a former neighbor at the grocery store this morning......love it here

Drinking in jim jams--sounds poiphect B) Hee--speaking of drinking, moi had copious amounts of wine yesterday. Made up fer the phact that me Thanksgiving dinner started to thaw on the way up (long stupid story) so we ate it Tuesday night at the hotel and I ended up eating potroast that I brought.

Tis phreezing up here! Very windy and damp. Don't care :D

Be back....

Hi ebbreebubby . ...uhhh

Hope all the Thxgivings were appropriately worthy of much thankfuliciousness.

Been so long . ...too long . . ..wish I still had some psilly sometimes . .. ..

Almost 2yrs now since I felt (mentally) good every day. <sigh> :(

Does Amanda still visit? I read sometimes & don't recall any from her.

Hope she & Joolz & Sarah are doing ok.

Is Judy in CA yet?

Had a doc ask me if I wanted to be tested for Lyme the other day. She mentioned she knows the one around here who's well-known. Forgot why I'd ruled that out in the past.

Bah . .I dunno wtf I'm doin'. .. . . .

Dammit, can't even think of anything good to say, which is a big BIG part of why I don't bother posting.

<crap . ..should I erase that? . ....>

There you are!!!!!!!! :D

Methinks you should get tested for Lyme...... got nowt to lose eh?? ;)

T'is nice to see your post :D

Methinks you should get tested for Lyme...... got nowt to lose eh?? ;)

Ahhhh I bet that's true in every other g*****mn mo*****uck** industrialized country in the world .. ...

Not here.

Not when there's PROFIT to be made!!!!

And we can't change it cuz some a$$holes would rather make political hay. "It'll be his Waterloo", one o' those jacka$$es said. (Jim DeMint R-South Carolina)

Too insane that it's really this way.

For-profit Health Insurance is by definition not on the side of the citizenry. The more care denied, the more profit "made".

Anyway .. .."nowt to lose" becomes probably $600-1000 once I do the referral appt, the pre-test appt w/ the specialist, the test itself, & the post-test appt.

Besides whatever made me rule out Lyme long ago, could it at all possibly fit to have 6 of the greatest months anyone ever had in the middle of being a Lymie?

Have I ever mentioned how I became uninsured?

[Didn't think so]

Once I quit my job due to celiac (but years before knowing it WAS celiac), and COBRA ran out, I tried to get Health Insurance. Like 8 or 10 or 12 pages of forms (horrendous btw - I was nearly infukncapable of filling out even simple forms, for whatever reason) only to be told that I'm denied for the pre-existing condition of having SEEN a doctor years before about back problems.

Not for having actual current back problems - there were none worth mentioning - just for appts YEARS before.

I should stop before I get too worked up to sleep . .. . .

GOOD MORNING, PTAOUGHMGHMNUSS!! :)

Often when I've seen a number of guests reading along, I've wondered if one of them could be you..... .. ...HOPING, I guess.....

Really great to read you again! Just wish the news was better. Incredible that with all of the extensive testing you've had done that nuttin' has shown. . . . ...... ....crazy, really... .. ....:(

But the one thing you have not been tested for is lyme. I'm actually surprised that you haven't had the blood work done for it, as the symptoms are quite similar to gluten problems.

We sat and finally watched "Sicko" last week.... . ..boy, would Michael Moore ever have loved to run into YOU whilst gathering on-the-street arsenal for this documentary. . . . . .... . ... :(

Thinkin' about ya, dear Ptaoughmghmnnhusss (man, I haven't missed spellin' that name....... .).. . ......

Ptaum was here!!!!

Sorry to hear you still don't have the answers to yer problems.

It is quite apparent that what you need is to be back in the bosom of yer psillies! :P

I often think about Sarah and wonder if she's reading along.......miss her greatly. :(

.....and speaking of insurance.......

Hubby got a call from the prosthetist, saying we still owe another $1200 for his new leg. I guess insurance paid for the leg, but not the foot

Our EOB says we owe nothin..........so there!!!

OMG.... .. . . . .:lol: .. . .... . ...well, yes, it makes perfect sense, and I am certain that we can all see how the insurance company's stance is logical and reasonable. After all, it was Brian's LEG that sustained the irreparable damage, correct? So, why in hell should they pay for anything more than that? His foot was okay, so hey.. . . ......not payin' fer THAT part of the prosthetic.<_<

Leeeesargh, did they offer Brian an option to keep his foot, and continue using it? I'm bettin' not.. .. . . ........

SO macabre. And you are incredible, Leeeesargh, as you can laugh about it all.

Eeeewwwwwww!!!!!! Really gross visual images in my head

Maybe I already told you all, maybe not.......

When we went to the Halloween party as pirates, some people there didn't know us or our story. This one lady started feeling around the back of Brian's thigh and asked, "Where is your leg?"

His reply........

"In Houston!"

Hello Psillies! happy Psunday!

Jess- Go get that kitty NOW!!!! Jazzpurr looks awesome! I want to drink margaritas in a bar in me jammies! Sounds like Heaven.

Ptaum- I'm bummed I missed you but am glad you stopped in. If you are reading this- yes, you should get tested for Lyme. I know the whole darn thing is ridiculously expensive but if it's the last part of the puzzle it's worth it!

Lisa- That insurance company needs an arsewhooping!

Em- Did you watch the Senators/Bruins game last night? Did you see me :P ? Your Ottawa Senators are most excellent! We did beat you but only in an overtime shoot out...didn't think it was going to happen as they whooped our arses in the first period! I kept thinking you should have been there! Twas looking for Sophie in the goal (not a job I'd ever want with a hockey puck flying at yer head at 100 mph).

There could be Romans feeding Christians to the lions in that arena, for all we would notice, Bev and I sittin' together... . ... . . ......

If you have DH you will likely also want to avoid iodine, which is common in seafoods and dairy products, as it can exacerbate symptoms in some people. This article may also be helpful as it offers various ways to relieve the itch--thanks for the tip about Dupixent, and I've added it to the article:

I just want to clarify that what I posted is a category of research summaries we've done over the years, and nearly each one shows that there is definitely a connection to celiac disease and migraine headaches. The latest study said: "the study did indicate some potential causal associations between celiac disease and migraine with or without aura, as well as between migraine without aura and ulcerative colitis...this study did not find evidence of a shared genetic basis..." Anyway, there is definitely a connection, and you can go through more of the articles here if you're interested: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/migraine-headaches-and-celiac-disease/

Two months ago, I started taking Dupixent for dermatitis herpetiformis and it has completely cleared it up. I can't believe it! I have had a terrible painful, intensely itchy rash for over a year despite going fully gluten-free. See if your doctor will prescribe Dupixent. It can be expensive but I am getting it free. When the dermatitis herpetiformis was bad I could not do anything. I just lay in bed covered in ice packs to ease the pain/itching and using way too Clobetasol. Dapsone is also very good for dermatitis herpetiformis (and it is generic). It helped me and the results were immediate but it gave me severe anemia so the Dupixent is better for me. Not sure if it works for everyone. I cannot help with the cause of your stress but from experience I am sure the severe stress is making the celiac and dermatitis herpetiformis worse. Very difficult for you with having children to care for and you being so sick. Would this man be willing to see a family therapist with you? He may be angry at you or imagine that your illness is a psychosomatic excuse not to take care of him. A therapist might help even if he won't go with you. Also do you have any family that you could move in with (with the kids) for a short time to get away? A break may be good for you both.

@tiffanygosci, Thiamine deficiency is a thing in pregnancy for "normal" people, so it's exponentially more important for those with celiac disease and malabsorption issues. I studied nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology because I was curious what the vitamins were doing inside the body.  See my blog.  Click on my name to go to my page, scroll to drop down menu "activities" and select blog.   So glad you're motivated to see the dietician!  We're always happy to help with questions.  Keep us posted on your progress!
    • tiffanygosci
Thank you for sharing all of this, Knitty Kitty! I did just want someone to share some commonality with. I did not know This one Deficiency was a thing and that it's common for Celiac Disease. It makes sense since this is a disorder that causes malabsorption. I will have to keep this in mind for my next appointments. You also just spurred me on to make that Dietician appointment. There's a lot of information online but I do need to see a professional. There is too much to juggle on my own with this condition.<3
