In-laws are all gone . . . loads of food left . . . I'm trying desparately to eat it all before it goes bad. I don't think I'm gonna make it.

Any phluid mishaps?

J and I were at a trade show for dogs this afternoon. Several of the phour-legged guests deposited bodily phluids in various places around the hall, including the booth we were staffing. A big success overall, though.

I'm sure the cleaners at the exhibition centRE would rather work the hall where the craft show was, instead of the ones where Woofstock was held. ;)

I'm glad y'all had a good holiday! I'm also VERY VERY glad to be home! Missed y'all! Thanks for keeping me company on da book, since that was my only lifeline for a week!!

I did make the BEST gluten-free, vegetarian stuffing in the crockpot...so I guess it was dressing then, wasn't it... Anyway, I ate a TON of it. Was pretty good with my eating thru the week and I came off the holiday down a POUND!!!!! SOOOOO excited! My holiday dress is looking good and comfortable right now! I might be able to take real breaths! :lol: :lol:

All righty dighty.

Woke up at 1, stayed in bed for an hour in case I was going to go back to sleep. Got up at two and made split peas soup using the squash soup base I had in the frig. Made turkey soup using the stock in the frig that I made yesterday. Finished my homework. Put some laundry in the washer, loaded the dishwasher, had a bowl of each of my soups :ph34r: :ph34r: (I had to test them....) and now gonna run out and feed the chickens before walking the mile or so (as far as I get) until the bus comes. Hell week for the theater starts tonight so it's gonna be a frickin' long day...

Yes, he is holding a pot of gold. The previous Santa ( with beady eyes) is one of the more expensive china doll type.

Eww, a little anyway. Muffin the cat-head sometimes barfs up her food, and always seems to prefer to do that within a few feet of me. At least I know where it is to clean it up.

Man, running a marathon. . . . . 'tis excatly what it feels like, at times. Grade twelve is exhausting and fraught with hurdles... .. . . . Logarithms, King Lear and macroeconomic markets... ....:blink: Whot in hell?

Think I'd manage twenty-six miles long before I could pull off what she is sloggin' through.... . . . .

Soooo Beautiful! This is phabulous! Bittersweet for sure ;)

I had to tell Jesse at dinner last night how much I spent online the night before :rolleyes: I had the packages sent to his work cuz it's in Oregon so I don't have to pay for sales tax. Told him he'd be getting a package from Victoria's Secret to sedate him a bit (didn't tell him there was no lingerie.... And I bought another pair of boots :unsure: I am in so much trouble!!! :ph34r: )

      Since medical insurance is not affected directly by celiac disease on an ongoing basis (i.e. medication, medical devices, daily monitoring, home care nursing, etc), I rather doubt anyone would be denied a policy for having it as a pre-existing condition. I’ve certainly never been and I have two pre-existing conditions that are managed with diet alone and both are long-well-known by my doctors and via medical testing and procedures. Insurance is all about risk management, not health.

      I got beaten so bad playing dominoes that made me realize that I was probably eating something with gluten, the culprit (Simms premium cracked pepper STEAKSTRIP). Now I can look back and see all other symptoms: irregular stools, bad sleep, desire to eat uncontrollably, bad mood, etc. Gluten really does a job on my short-term memory.

      I can confirm this. I no longer have any issues with Iodine since being strictly gluten and dairy free.

      I should point out that iodine is known to exasperate dermatitis herpetiformis blistering. It can take several months or even years of a strict gluten-free diet for the IgA-TG3 deposits to clear from the skin. After the skin completely heals, iodine may no longer trigger symptoms. "The circulating antibodies disappear and skin symptoms resolve as a result of gluten-free diet but the cutaneous anti-TG3 IgA deposits may persist for several years.
