Keep hearing about these bloody aftershocks, Shrooomie, and wondering how all are faring way down and over there. . . .. .

Will you be ditching the shaking winter ground soon and heading for your summer home?

Sshh, I'm afraid to say it, but they do seem to be moving out to sea a bit and you don't feel them so much out there as when they are under the volcanic rock :blink: But they say we can expect to have them for the next year or two :huh::o although they ARE down from four or five a day. :D

But YESSS!!!! we is leaving them behind shortly, like in about three weeks, whether the roof is finished or not (housesitter says she will see to it :D ) - what a REDTAPE HASSLE that has been :rolleyes: And whether my leg is all better or not, come hell or high water in fact.... whoops, don't tempt fate... and I hear there has been seismic activity in Nevada lately also :unsure:

So sorry it had to come to this Gnik, but I know it has been a source of terrible frustration for you for a long time. Have been worried about your absence and knew something must be afoot :( But yes, you have to do what you have to do and it may well turn out the best for him too. Have you been able to get some supervision for him?? Sorry, don't mean to be nosy :o

Heyy Psills - how 're we doing??

Sadly, our (Tel & me) relationship with our youngest son (Devil Child) has completely broken down and he has HAD to move out.

This saddens & troubles me as he is only 16yrs old but simply CANNOT have him threatening me. - the stress was enormous living with his behaviour dry.gif

LOts & lots of stuph has gone on - mostly hideously embarassing for me to admit as I gave birth to him rolleyes.gif but we've finally reached the end of the line.

Our eldest son (22yrs) is also moving out (but under normal circumstance...will be flat sharing with a pal. Bachelor pad!! tongue.gif)

Soooo with just Alzey at home I'm feeling a slight 'empty nest' syndrome.

The upside is with the 2012 Olympics coming I've got 2 empty beds for any psills who wanna come wink.gif!!!!

What else....OH, and Tel's got shingles dry.gif Think stress had a part to play in that tho'

How old is he? Tony and I have had a horrible relationship over the past few years and it seems to have turned a corner. I imagine it will get even better when he learns about the cancer.

Sometimes parents have to do the right, not easy, thing. I'm proud of you and am here for you whenever you need to vent.

Simon has shredded my right hand. Looks like I stuck my hand in that blender instead of holding the lid on wif all my body weight :rolleyes: And I was trying to cut the little shee-ite's nails! <_<

We're supposed to hit 70 today. 75 tomorrow and I'm off work!!!

Hi Psilles,

This will be quick as I don't feel very psilly right now. I got turned down by Disability! Now I have to start the appeal process. I started it online and it's endless. But, I didn't get on here to complain. I just miss you all and wanted to let you know I'll be offline a few days because I can finally have my lumbar and (hopefully) shoulder injections tomorrow. So it will be more rest and pampering for me. Tony comes home on Friday so I'll tell him about the CLL in a few days.

I have heard everyone is turned down the first time, too. Its automatic. They probably don't evven read the info.

:P I came from there this morning. I've taken today and tomorrow off, so I went over last night to cheer him up for NOT having the next two days off.(Although I did try to convince him to go in late this morning. :ph34r:;) )

Its just been pouring rain all day! :(

J is finished with high school, we hope! Don't really know until you open the envelope they give him Sunday at Graduation. ;)

I seem to have made my coffee a little strong this morning.

Made quiche, salmon curry, stem chili, did the dishes, mowed 3/4 of the lawn, cleaned the stove top, did the grocery shopping. What should I do now?

      The genetic testing results you provided indicate that your child carries two copies of the HLA-DQ2.5 beta chain (DQ Beta 1 *02:01, *02:01), which is a high-risk genetic marker for celiac disease. However, the alpha chain (DQ Alpha 1 *05:01, *05) is only partially present, as HLA-DQ2.5 typically requires the alpha chain *05:01 paired with the beta chain 02:01. Since your child has two copies of the beta chain (02:01) but only one full *05:01 alpha allele (the other appears truncated as *05), this suggests they are heterozygous for HLA-DQ2.5 rather than homozygous. The term "permissive for celiac disease" means your child has genetic susceptibility but not necessarily the highest-risk genotype (homozygous DQ2.5). Since celiac disease development also depends on environmental triggers and other factors, further testing (such as antibody screening or biopsy) may be needed to confirm a diagnosis. Consulting a genetic counselor or gastroenterologist can help clarify these results and next steps.

      As my doctor said, you don't have to eat breakfast food for breakfast.  I may have a leftover piece of chicken and left over squash or eggs or I am actually more likely to skip breakfast as I do intermittent fasting.  In that case I eat lunch around 11:30 and have some guacamole and a salad with chicken or tuna.  For dinner I have pork, shrimp, chicken, lamb, or turkey with half a baked sweet potato and some broccoli, green beans, beets, carrots or cauliflower.  I do not eat any grains on the advice of my doctor.  I do not eat commercially processed products, even if they say they are gluten-free.  I make Warrior Bread every few weeks.  It has no yeast and contains almond flour and dried sweet potato.  Very tasty too.  A good book to help in this regard is No Grain, No Pain by Peter Osborne.  Thankfully, I can eat coconut and nuts and use those flours in baking and also use nut milks in cooking.  Since I am allergic to chocolate and vanilla, lemon is my go to flavor for something sweet.  My migraines totally disappeared once I went gluten and casein free.  I can occasionally eat certain high fat cheeses that are low in casein, as well as grass fed butter.  I use lots of Organic Olive and Avocado oil. The problems I thought I had with nightshades went away when I went fully organic.  And, the rest of my issues went away by avoiding the foods I tested positive to as well as avoiding all grains. I will be the first one to say that it is a very expensive way of eating, but thankfully we can afford to eat that way.  The good news is that I take no prescription meds at age 72.  At 54 before diagnosis, I was a mess and on a boatload of pharmaceuticals.

      With that many foods removed from your diet, what do you eat?  I also have histamine issues and migraines so that takes out certain trigger foods and high histamine vegetables.  Have allergies to coconut and issues with nuts so those are out.  I'm beginning to think I may have to remove dairy and some of the grains beyond wheat to get allergies under control.  Just having so many issues figuring out what to make at meal times.  What's a typical breakfast look like for you?  Thanks.
