If I don't try some soon i'm going to feel like all talk, no action. i say we all make a secret plan to meet in Amsterdam annd drink absinthe.Please, not during the third week of the month- it's my regularly scheduled herx. God- it's like a menstraul cycle.

I shall call it my herxal cycle. Does that mean I get to have PHS- Preherxal Syndrome? God, now 2 weeks out of every month STINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyhoo, back to Amsterdam...Secret party at some bar called Sinners in Heaven. need devil emoticon!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few years ago I got California Closets to come do my dad's bedroom closet. I went over to his house the day the consultant was coming and the lady was in there measuring and planning for almost 2 hours! It was supper time and we didn't know what to do about her. So my dad ending up making supper for her and the three of us ate spaghetti (pre-Celiac days!) and drank wine on my dad's closet floor. It was pretty funny. She took her job very seriously!

My dad's closet looked about twice as big after they performed their closet magic. I'm very jealous it and I wish my closet looked like that. I'm sure you'll be in awe of the finished product. I think closet organizer would be a fun job to have.

I was thinking it would be a fun job too! She ended up being here for 4 and a half hours :o We had tea and chatted a little--she was very nice.

She's probably found some fabulous 'retro' jacket of your hubby's (aka -'packrat') and is wondering if she could sneak it out to sell on Ebay....... :lol:

I'm thinkin' we could use her in our parade organization...Y'know, placing all the paraphrenalia within the floats, organizing and loading the guns with appropriate treats in the proper order...the most economical use of space can haunt parade organizers. You should ask her if she's ever tackled a job like this, Patti. She may jump at it... :lol::lol:

Bev, I loved it, too. The timing is perfect, as it is my dad's 83rd birthday on Sunday, and I'll recite this poem to him. He is the epitomy of a nice ol' fart. Now, this is provided he isn't in costume. <_<

No idea what to get him...what do you get an eighty-three year old codger who changes identities faster than I change my mind?

      @trents You're right, thanks for pointing that out. On @somethinglikeolivia comment regarding potential ingesting or cross contamination; there is a product marketed in Australia as "GluteGuard" which is designed for just this scenario. It is not a defence for and is not recommended for use by full-blown celiac disease but, it helps those with GI. I'll be reading slower in future so I don't skim over the subject matter. Cheers.

      @N00dnutt, as OP explained earlier, she had a gastroscopy done earlier while she had been eating plenty of gluten for months. It was negative despite strong positive antibody scores.

      The best way to determine positively is to undergo a Gastroscope. Your Endocrinologist will assess the condition of your "Villi". These tenticles are what extract the nutrient from what we ingest. The Protein in Gluten is like acid to these tenticles.

      It occurs to me that this might be a good application for gluten test kits, since the test kits seem to require samples in power form and pills can easily be rendered in that form. According to this article, and it seems to be current, there are three choices when it comes to gluten test kits: https://www.verywellhealth.com/gluten-detectors-and-test-kits-comparing-the-options-4126736 While it is not an inexpensive solution, at least it shouldn't be necessary to use very often once you establish a med either is safe or not.
