Hip Pain?

I am not sure where to post this but anyway. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem or they know what is wrong? Starteing back a little over 5 years ago when I was pregnent with my first daughter my hip would pop out of place when I laid down on my back but would go back in as soon as someone helped me up. I was told it was just due to my hips widening for the baby. So I ovoided laying on my back and didn't think much of it. This continied but was't as frequent for untill my second preganancy about a year ago when it became frequent again. The problem now is for about the last month it keeps going out and is now exrtreamly painful when it does.....it has a dull ache when it is not. It goes out usually for a few hours at a time. I can kinda feel that it is going to happen before it does....kinda wierd. When it happens I can hardly walk but still can with allot of pain. I can't turn around when standing up because I can't move my leg. It is extreamly hard to move my leg forward on the affected side. If I lay down on my back I can not get up by myself or move my leg without help. I donno if this is related to celiac at all or not. I don't know if my hip is actually popping out of place. I am just hoping someone might have an idea what the problem is. Thanks

I don't know if it is popping out or not, but I have a major problem with my right hip. It seizes up on me frequently, and is extremely painful. For me it is one of my many ongoing issues......

My hip dosen't pop out, but I had a lot of pain in my right hip prior to diagnosis. It was much worse when I'd wake up in the morning--it was difficult to turn over, even.

It went away the longer I was gluten-free, but recently the left hip has begun to do the same thing. I don't know what's causing it, or if it's at all related to the Celiac. I thought it was, but now I'm not sure.

You need to talk to your doctor. The ligaments and muscles holding your hip joint in place may be stretched and/or stressed, so they are not working properly. There could also be a problem with the joint that needs to be fixed. I'm sure it must be frustrating to not be able to move!

that sounds familiar to me!!! i first had hip problems with my second pregnancy----i would sometimes limp because of the pain. during my 5th pregnancy both hips hurt when i walked for about 2 months. it carried on for some time (years) after my pregnancies.

i think it is probably not celiac related (i don't have celiac). it is probably just your hip joint loosening up (not spreading). there is a chemical that is released in your body when you are pregnant that makes your ligaments and such loosen up in preparation for delivering a baby. if you wear braces when you are pregnant your teeth will move faster because of this same chemical.

Hi. I have been experiencing a similar problem since late in my pregnancy and I am now 10 months pp. I agree with chrissy's post above where she states that the cause is probably due to widening of the pelvic are a and the role of chemicals in taht process (relaxin, I think). I am 2 days into a gluten-free diet and I have terrible body apin, not just in my hip, so I am wondering if the diet will improve things. I had a tough time finding info on the hip pain, but I have included a link that I found very helpful. Hope that you feel better!

(I couldn't find the other link that I had; this information does not apply to plus size women only as the title implies.)

Hello, just popped in my head to ask this question about medications and celiac? I have always had refurse reaction to meds since I can remember  of what little meds my body is able to tolerate. I was taking gabapentin 300mg for a week,  in past I believe 150? Any ways it amps me up not able to sleep, though very tired. However I did notice it helped with my bloating sibo belly.I hate that my body is that sensitive and medical doesn't seem to take seriously. Im STILL healing with my skin, eye, and now ms or meningioma ( will know in April  which)and dealing with this limbo nightmare. I did write my name, address ect on the reclamation but im not tech savvy and not sure if went through properly. I called my city representative in Stanislaus County and asked if theres a physical paper i can sign for proclamation for celiac and she had no clue about what I was saying, so I just said I'll go back on website.

I'm not saying that some celiacs won't need it, but it should be done under a doctor's supervision because it can cause lots of problems in some people.

I also noticed I get debilitating migraines when I smell gluten, wheat and its not taken seriously when it affects one in every way.Im still begging to properly be heard.I also noticed tolerance level is down the drain with age and life changes. I have been told by incompetent medical that im not celiac or that sensitive. Diagnosed in 1994 by gi biopsy gluten-free ever since along with other lovely food allergies. Prayers

trents:  Why some can tolerate european bread but not american bread.     I take 600 mcg a day.  Right in the middle of the safe range.   Groups at Risk of Iodine Inadequacy Though though the NIH does not specifically list Celiac Disease in this group, they state: "Iodide is quickly and almost completely absorbed in the stomach and duodenum. Iodate is reduced in the gastrointestinal tract and absorbed as iodide [2,5]."  That would certainly include malabsorption of Iodine due to Celiac Disease with resultant Iodine Deficiency. Vegans and people who eat few or no dairy products, seafood, and eggs People who do not use iodized salt Pregnant women People with marginal iodine status who eat foods containing goitrogens Deficiencies of iron and/or vitamin A may also be goitrogenic [51] https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Iodine-HealthProfessiona   1
