What To Do About Daughter's Skin

My daughter has KP (a skin condition that causes bumpy things on her arms and legs) Basically it looks much like goose bumps but they are there all the time. A lot of people have it and its nothing that needs to be treated so we normally just leave it alone.

Lately she's been picking at the bumps and I don't want her to scar. The only thing I have found that does not contain topical steroids in it has oat flour in it. So I'm wondering if that also means it has gluten in it!

Anyone here use the Lame Advertisement baby care products with success???

burt bee's baby lotions and such are gluten-free

I can not find my list of products but they are great, I e-mailed and asked which did not contain gluten and I got a full list e-mailed to me.

my daughter has this on her arms and legs, she uses the St. Ives Apricot Scrub in the bath and Kiss My Face Unscented Olive Oil and Aloe Lotion...

I use California Baby Calendula Cream--it's very soothing and mild. They have other creams, too.

Kibbie,

My son had the same thing, and it stopped as soon as I quit using fabric softener. None of the creams worked.

VANICREAM works really well. You can order online at dermadoctor.com

I wish that were the problem... I've never used fabri softener on her clothes! I'm trying the intelligence line from Lame Advertisement now.... since their produts have been so great for my skin! If that doesn't work I guess California baby is the next step!

I'm glad to hear it actually went away! :) That gives me hope :)

I second the St. Ives Apricot Scrub - it's the best thing I have found. Also, I use Dove for sensitive skin regularly. Also, check the laundry detergent - I thought that because it didn't have some fragrance listed on the front that it was fine. It wasn't. Now I use All Free (I think that's what it's called) or the kind for babies.

Wow. Is KP another un-classic symptom of GI? My Dd has had this for years. On her face! Mostly the cheeks. I've found that it helps to use something slightly abrasive--then a gentlr clenser like cetaphil. THEN a good moisterizer like eucerine. I kept thinking it was acne--but it is reated to dry skin issues, the bumps are plugged folicles. Sometimes they turn into "blackhead" type pimples from dirt and oil. I really feel for her.

I've not seen a link... KP is genetic and does get better with age. I have seen no change in her KP since being gluten free...its actually flaring up now because its winter and her skin is drying out :(

I don't want to use a "scrub" on her because she is only 1 and scrubs make my KP worse not better so I think they will do the same for her. So far lots of gooey lotion in the morning and after her bath seems to keep it under control. But the Lame Advertisement baby products got rid of it completely... it just wasn't there! Darn them for putting oats in everything!

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
