Lunch Ideas...pregnant!

Well, it took my husband and I a whole month of trying before we got pregnant (I am not kidding, thrilled, but very suprised). :D

So I have my first dr. appt tomorrow, she is familiar with Celiac, but I don't expect my OB to be an expert.

So I've been reading through pregnancy websites, and am waiting for a few books to come in. I typically would do lunch meat and cheese rolled up. But now, no lunch meat. So I've been eating fruit, string cheese or nuts every few hours, but I feel like I want a normal lunch, well, somewhat normal.

Any ideas for a pregnancy newby?

Thanks!

Brandy

Brandy,

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! Wow-a surprise, but SO exciting!

Let's see....for me....I do things like

yogurt

leftovers (that is a BIG one for me)

homemade soup (make a batch and then freeze them in individual containers...soup, chili, etc)

salad with chicken

I think you can do seafood in small amounts....shrimp

I am a "big" snacker...so I do things like dips/crackers/chips/veggies

do you have a whole foods near you. their pizza crusts, or kinnicnick's pizza crust are great....put on veggie cream cheese, and then chopped up veggies...tomatoes, bell peppers, gr onions, cukes (chop very small) and then cut into little squares...it makes like an "appetizer veggie pizza" and I do that a lot.

roasted chicken (i get the over stuffer roasters and then cut it up)

hope this helps some. i'm a big leftovers fan (esp stir frys, and rice, etc.) Or mexican! Most of my lunches are very similar to dinners, so I just eat whatever I want ;) I bring my lunch everyday to work....I figure I might as well enjoy it!

xoxo,

Laura

I just had a very yummy lunch yesterday. I made some french bread into "pizza" crusts, and toasted one, then topped it with tuna/egg salad stuff. It was very yummy. This would be good for any open faced sandwich.

Congratulations!

Just so you know, you can eat lunch meat provided you "reheat" it before eating. Unpasteurized cheeses are also a risk for listeria.

Other lunch options: salmon salad, chicken salad, egg salad, etc; Hummus with veggies and/or gluten free crackers, tortillas, etc; Soups; well, anything you'd make for supper really.

I eat lunch meat every day, and continue to do so (I am 17 weeks). Hillshire Farms has a new packaged lunchmeat w/out nitrates and nitrites. Just make sure to heat to steaming every time.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
