I just wondered if anyone knows if Marie's dressings are gluten free? Had the ranch for dinner. I can tell I got gluten somewhere from dinner. Unless it was the lemon pepper seasoning we used on the chicken. I'll have to check that too.

I read that the Roquefort cheese used to make a lot of blue cheese dressings isn't gluten free, somewhere in the Gluten Free Gourmet books. She suggested making your own with Feta cheese at the base. I haven't tried it, but it sounds like a good idea.

The longer I'm gluten free, the most the little things get to me--I can tell I had exposure sometime today, I just haven't pin-pointed it down yet.

I use the Creamy Italian Garlic and don't have any problems. Not sure about the Ranch.

For some reason, I think that Marie's contains gluten.

I buy the Litehouse brand, they are right next to the Marie's but their blue cheese is gluten free.

Wheat is required by law to be clearly listed, so we are just down to any sort of rye, barley/malt, and oats.

I contacted Marie's and this is the response I got:

Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in Marie's Dressings and Dips.

We have reformulated the Marie's Salad Dressings, Dips, and Fruit Glazes to remove wheat gluten from all of our flavors.

As with anyone with a health concern, we strongly recommend you consult with your personal physician and/or registered dietitian to determine if this product fits your special health needs.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

It's nice to hear that a company like Marie's is thinking about gluten free. Thanks so much for checking. I'm still new at this and trying to keep what is safe and what isn't.

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
