Hamburger Helper Mix?

We often eat Kraft Dinner (we throw out the noodles in the box and substitute our own) and I was wondering whether anyone had ever determined whether the sauce mix in Hamburger Helper is also gluten-free?

The list of ingredients on the side of the box lumps the noodle ingredients with the mix ingredients.

Just wondering...

I think it would be best to call and find out, and to find out on all the different kinds that you eat. What i would do for an kraft dinner, im casein intolerant also so i cant have it,

mt,

I'm looking at a box of Cheesy Jambalya, and the noodle (pasta) ingredients are not with the mix ingredients. They are separated with parenthesis. I.e., when listing ingredients, it's common practice to use parenthesis when an item (in this case "pasta") contains more than one ingredient.

In this case:

INGREDIENTS:

Enriched Pasta (wheat flour, niacin, iron, thiamin momonitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), Corn Starch, .... continues with the rest of the ingredients.

So you see, the noodle ingredients are not lumped with the mix ingredients. The corn starch is the beginning of the "mix" ingredients. It's actually neccessary to list this way because ingredients are listed by weight. This lets you know (very approximately) how much of each ingredient (in relation to all the others) is in the product. In this product, pasta is the main ingredient, so it's listed first.

Makers of some products circumvent this requirement by using multiple similar ingredients. Sweet breakfast cereals are notorious for this. To give the appearance of less sugar, they use 4, 5, or even 6 sugar derivatives. Sugar, corn syrup, High fructose corn syrup, sorbital, polydextrose, honey, fruit juice extract, cane juice, theres others I can't recall at the moment.

best regards, lm

I don't know about hamburger helper, but Mrs. Leepers makes a great hamburger helper alternative. It's not expensive either. They're on sale today at shopbydiet.com.

We really like the chicken alfredo, cheeseburger macaroni, and the beef lasagna flavors. They're great when you have major time restraints, plus kid friendly too.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
