I am just asking for positive vibes and energy for my father, he was slightly out of it this Sunday, Monday things got worse, he fell, so my mom took him to the ER, they say it was probably minor stokes. He isn't completely aware of what is going on, but they ran lots of tests. They are keeping him in the hospital, but i'm worried about him. Yesterday he couldn't find his car in the parking lot so I had to go pick him up at work. Just now talking with him he told me to make sure I did my homework... I've been out of school for 4 years. I'm very worried and scared.

When thinking about my celiac it seems so trivial when thinking about the stuff that going on in my dad's head.

I'm still down here, my mom told me there is nothing I can do if I were to come home. He is in CMC still, they keeping him until they know for sure what It was and if it was some new meds they but him on that caused it. I was home on monday when he couldn't find his car in the parking lot at work so i had to pick him up. I will probally be coming home again this weekend, unless my mom tells me not to. I have the 4-8th off so I will be home for a long time then.

My mom said that they were expecting more news from the nurologist this morning, but haven't heard yet.

Hope your Dad gets his strength back and doctors give him treatment/meds which will keep him from having another episode.

It's day 3 and they still have no answers on what happened. They arn't even sure that it was a stroke anymore. They ran lots and lots of tests, and the best they can say is they think that some drug he was taking interfered with another drug, and caused his blood pressure to drop and loose his balance. They arn't addressing the fact he has no memory of monday at all, or that he ever was confused. They can't even tell us what drugs interacted... he's on almost 10 prescriptions. My mom hasn't been able to talk to the nurologist, she gets there 7 in the morning, but the doc has allready come in and out.. they tell my dad stuff, and by the time she gets there, he can't remember it all. His other doctors have come by, but mostly just to check in. She dosen't think that any of them are talking to each other, so no one is really understanding all his problems. I am getting so frustrated, I keep telling my mom to go and ask to see his chart. She needs to find out what he is being tested for, make sure he is being tested for things like B12 deficency or celiac! (had to throw that in). I am about 2 hours away, I can't go see him and demand these things for him, I need to work. Just really frustrated.

On the plus side, my mom had her Dr appointment today and she has blood test script for the Celiac Panel. My mom is not too happy with it, but our doc told her "Dr Anna" (that's me) insisted that she get tested. She is having really bad leg cramps, and while she is avoiding wheat, she isn't gluten-free at all. Tuesday she ate a PBJ sandwich, and the next day she woke up with a migrane and vomiting. I told her it was the wheat, my mom said just stress over my dad.

Anyway thanks for letting me rant... I am really stressed over this!

Sunny,

Sorry to hear your having such a time of it :( We had problems with communications when my dad was in hospital with a head injury. Pin the doctors down by phone if you have too to get information or have your mom do it. She needs to get the info directly from them instead of through your dad under the circumstances. Give the nurses what for on the lack of communication and demand to be put into touch with someone that knows what's going on and what's been tested. Sometimes you have to be really witchy to get info out of hospitals.

Hey all, my dad came home yesterday. They say they don't actually think it is a stroke, they are just going on the assumption that his BP medication was too high and this new medication they put him on interacted with some other medication he was on, and he got disoriented and dizzy. I don't like how they are saying, we can't find anything else wrong, so this is what we assume happened. But he is home and my mom says he is getting back to normal (which wasn't too great to begin with actually). Thanks everyone for letting me vent and sending your prayers and support.

My daughter and I will still say our night night prayer for you and your family

Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have. It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.

@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.

Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!
