When I get nausea, I eat peppermint, which helps. You can also drink peppermint tea.

Some people swear by ginger, too--eating ginger, drinking ginger tea, or flat ginger ale. I've never tried these things, but it helps some people.

Pepto Bismal (liquid) also helps some people, too--I was just never one of those people.

I hope the nausea goes away soon--I hate being nauseous!

Thanks! I'll have to try that....it's the worst feeling! Then again maybe anything could be the worst thing if it's happening to you at that moment :D The ginger thing doesn't work for me and don't even get me started on Pepto! haha.

Oh! Also...

I have been getting a VERY distended stomach after I eat lately....sound familiar to anyone???

Just wanted to say that my fiancee found some relief from nausea by sucking on something cold. We usually froze Pedialyte into ice cubes and then crushed them up a bit. Not sure why it worked but it really helped to keep her from throwing up sometimes.

If you're really nauseated, you could always try prescription anti-nausea meds. When my fiancee was really sick her doctor prescribed a combo of Zofran and Reglan that was VERY effective. They had some weird side effects (nightmares, agitation, etc.) but honestly it was worth it.

I hope you can find something that helps,

Ryan

Sounds a lot like gas pressure with the distended stomach and you said the nausea feeling in throat. I know my husband and one of my daughters have problems with gas causing nausea too. If it is gas, something mild to relieve it might help like Gas X. I'd find out what is causing the problem for sure and/or see a doc about it if it keeps up. I use de-fizzed lemon lime soda or ginger ale when I'm feeling sick to my stomach.

Zofran works really well! I just took some myself and I'm waiting for it to kick in. It can be really expensive if insurance doesn't cover. Mine did, but the copay was $56-which for me...well I was just happy it wasn't $500!

Try a health food store preparation of DGL (a form of licorice). I get mine in powder form from Beyond a Century. Really has helped with nausea and is very soothing and healing to the stomach lining.

Have you ever been tested for elevated Lipase, I have that issue sometimes and everytime now (have it now Actually) I get checked and its my lipase, which is from the pancreas or leaking in the gut, it causes nausea, distension, tired also and gas. FOr some reason with celiac disease you can get elevated lipase, no one really knows why, but thats what i get.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
