Are Nestle Chocolate Chips Gluten Free?

Does anyone know if the milk chocolate chips made by Nestle are gluten free? Also the white chocolate chips?

My work was looking into buying nestle chocolate so I tried doing research on any allergens. I tried calling them and never got a response back. I'd love to know too!

Nestle chocolate chips are gluten free. They will clearly list gluten, so always check the labels. :)

Thanks Jenny, :) I did check the label, however in the ingrediants it states there are artificial colors. According to the unsafe food list on this website, artificial colors may or may not contain gluten. So how do you know for sure without contacting the manufacturer? This isn't always so easy since it always seems you need to know after they are closed... :rolleyes:

Since I am so new to this maybe I am going about this all wrong....

new too and have a hard time getting a straight answer from manufacturers too, when i do get a hold of someone. is it that they legally can't say "gluten-free" on some items? i have gotten - we can't say it's gluten-free but the ingredients do not specifically contain gluten - or something like that. but there are those questionable ingredients like natural flavors where i don't know what to do.

Some companies will not hide gluten at all--even under natural or artificial flavors. Nestle is one of those companies, as is Kraft. So, if there is gluten in the natural flavors, it will read something like Natural flavors (barley). If it's Nestle or Kraft, and you don't see wheat, oats, barley, or rye at all, then it's gluten-free.

There is a list somewhere on this board of all the companies that plainly list gluten and won't hide it under anything (food starch, natural flavors, artificial flavors, etc.). It's a useful list to have, as it saves some time from calling companies and such.

It can be so difficult in the beginning, so please let us know if you have any other questions!

Here's the list. I bookmarked it. Thanks to who ever posted it! I called all the companies and I suggest that you do the same. One of the companies (Blue Bunny???) just did not have products that contain gluten, but they did not have a gluten policy. Everything on the list was fine, but it's always a good policy to call yourself. :)

      Hello everyone. I am Elena and am 38 years old. I suspect I have a gluten intolerance even if my celiac panel is ok. I have the following symptoms : facial flushing, Red dots not bumps în face, bloating abdominal distension, hair loss, depression anxiety even with meds and even bipolar. Fatigue extreme to the point of not being able to work. All of these after I eat gluten. Could I have non celiac gluten sensitivity? Thanks anyone else with these symptoms?

      Hi Everyone,  I do appreciate your replies to my original post.   Here is where I am now in this journey.  I am currently seeing a Naturopath.  One thing I did not post before is that I take Esomeprazole for GERD.  My Naturopath believes that the decrease in the gastric acid has allowed the yeast to grow.    She has put me on some digestive enzymes.  She also put me on Zinc, Selenium, B 12, as she felt that I was not absorbing my vitamins. I am about 5 weeks into this treatment, and I am feeling better. I did not have any trouble taking the Fluconazole.

      I'm sure it's chemically perfect. Most of them taste lousy!

      Hi @JulieRe.  I just found your post.  It seems that I am also experiencing thrush, and my doctor believes that I have fungal overgrowth in my gut, which is most likely candida.  I'm seeing my GI doctor next week, so I'm hoping she can diagnose and confirm this and then give me an antifungal treatment.  In the meantime, I have been working with a functional medicine doctor, doing a candida cleanse and taking vitamins. It's already helping to make me feel better (with some ups and downs, of course), so I do think the yeast is definitely a problem for me on top of my celiac disease and I'm hoping my GI doctor can look into this a bit further.  So, how about you?  Did the candida come back, or is it still gone following your fluconazole treatment?  Also, was it awful to take fluconazole?  I understand that taking an antifungal can cause a reaction that sometimes makes people feel sick while they're taking it.  I hope you're doing better still !
