Mead Honey Wine?

I was wondering if wine is ok for Celiac's to drink? I noticed that one type of the mead honey wine has yeast in it. Is yeast ok? I think it is, but can't remember whether some kinds are not.

I drink wine without concern. Yeast is safe with the exception of brewer's yeast. Brewer's yeast is unsafe because it is the spent yeast used in making beer, and has been thoroughly contaminated in the malting process.

When I googled mead honey wine and gluten a number of brands came up that say they are gluten free. You may want to google your brand and gluten and see what comes up. Most will be but there may be the odd one that isn't because they have added some flavoring or something.

Some are. I just finished a mead from Redstone Meadery. "Nectar of the Hops" Got some as a gift from a friend who is a judge a the Great American Beer Festival. What is really cool, is this year they even had a category for gluten free beer.

It was pretty good. I'm still a fan of New Grist and Bards Tale. Both I can grab from the shop across the street. Though Redstone is only a few miles from my house(live near Boulder, CO)

      Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

      He is. Which makes everything even more difficult. I’m not a believer in “staying for the kids” but I have nowhere to go and it’s not just me, it’s me plus my babies. We live in a beautiful place, lots of land in the country and me and the kids love the place we’ve called home for their entire lives. But Im seeing that he’ll never change, that my kids deserve a happy healthy Momma, and that staying in this as is will be the early death of me. Then I look at the scars covering my entire body…this disease and the chronic stress I’ve been enduring for years that tell me I’m no longer beautiful and no one will ever look at me with interest again. I try self care, try to give myself grace so I can just start loving myself enough to gain strength but the slightest sparkle in my eye and skip in my step attracts his wrath and it all comes crashing ten fold. Life is just absolutely railing me from every single direction leaving me wanting to wave that white flag bc I don’t feel like there’s much hope no matter what happens.
