First of all, somebody recxently had said that they buy all their riceflour which is pretty expensive in the Healthshops in the Asian Stores ! THANKYOU for that tip, I paid instead of 5.99 per lbs for Riceflour in a healthastor, only 3.99$ for 5!!!!lbs~! I was so happy I litteraly walked on clouds out of the store!

Now to my questions! How is it with Teas, are they glutenfree?

Then I can't find potatoeflour like asked for in Bette Hagmans Baking book, where do I get that? I found potatoe-starch in the Asianstore, but that is not the same, isn't it?

All of The Republic of Tea teas are gluten-free.

This list tells you at least some of the teas that are gluten-free or not.

Rather than remembering, I just go with the Republic of Tea. They are a certified gluten-free facility, or some such, and so I know that everything they have is safe.

Potato flour and potato starch are not the same thing. The flour is much heavier, and they can't be used interchangeably. To add more confusion, potato starch is sometimes called "potato starch flour".

I use Stash Teas--the whole facility is gluten-free. Read the labels on any flavored ones, though, as there is soy in a couple of them ;)

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
