Does the company process flavors that are not gluten-free (first see if you can find that out - maybe on the company website)? If they do, your best bet is to call the company. Ask them if they process the flavor you want on dedicated gluten-free lines. If not, ask them about their policies regarding cleaning shared equipment in between batches.

Walkers are quite good...

A while ago they had a CC problem with the 'old' cheese and onion line (at that time non gluten-free) contaminating the salt and vinegar and they came clean so I tend to trust more than most.

However, I really can't be bothered saying more when the poster cannot even be bothered to type 'someone'.

I find this extremely offensive, someone whom expects me to answer a question they cannot be bothered to formulate so i guess it will be the last post of mak07 I bother to answer until they learn English.

Walkers plain are ok - but I'm not so confident on other flavours (they may say 'suitable for coeliacs' but they often contain flavourings derived from Wheat - -codex levels <_< )

Steve, mak07 is probably young and familiar with using 'text' speak ;)

so i presume that they would be ok as they say on back of packet suitable for coelics?

Funny thing...

I worked onsite for a week and the only food I could find was crisps and the new walkers corn tortilla things.

I got accused (in a light hearted way) of being sponsored by Walkers.

Nikki ... I agree on the codex stuff.. however I do think walkers make more effort than most. In a bizarre chance I was in England the weekend they made the error and actually got one of the suspect packets before I found out and reacted accordingly.

I might be getting some low grade gluten from the S&V and corn tortillas, its hard to say because I got so essed up a week or so ago and I'm still paying the price of risking going to an Italian resto with my Italian class .. (I'm learning Italian now I'm stuck in London)

Comments that lack proper punctuation and spelling and use lots of abbreviations are difficult to read. I tend to not answer questions if they are written in "text-speak" because it takes so much extra concentration and time for me to read and understand the question. Maybe I'm just old and brain fogged, but a well-formulated post indicates that the poster put a certain amount of effort into the post which means I am willing to put effort into replying to it.

Anyway, I have eaten Walkers plain crisps with no problem, but I have no idea if they are manufactured on shared equipment.

Many of us with celiac find that the fillers in medications can cause a reaction, and sometimes our bodies just process things weirdly. That "rebound muscle pain" and "burning feet" you described sounds awful and is a huge red flag. It's frustrating enough managing the diet without medication causing setbacks. So sorry you're dealing with this, but you're definitely on the right track by connecting the dots. You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/

It's so tough when you're doing everything right and still get hit with it. I'm glad you're figuring out a system that works for you—the peppermint tea and rehydration powders are smart moves. It sounds like you've really learned to listen to your body, and that's half the battle. Sticking to simple, safe food at home is the best way to build yourself back up. It's great you can take the time to rest properly. Thanks for sharing what works; it's a big help to others figuring this out too. This article, and the comments below it, may be helpful:

I am so sorry you're going through this. It's bad enough to fight for a diagnosis and manage this disease, but to have your partner use it as a weapon against you is truly devastating. What you're describing isn't just a lack of support; it's abuse, full stop. Controlling your food and money is cruel, and his pleasure in your misery is chilling. Please hear this: the kindness from that woman at the food pantry is what you deserve. It's a glimpse of the real world, where people care. You deserve to eat, to heal, and to have peace. His actions are the biggest barrier to your health right now, and you are not broken—you are surviving in an impossible situation. Don't give up on that lifeline you've found.

Thank you.. Christina My anxiety is through the roof.  I think it was from eggs.  I really don't know because my eyes feel sore. Like I'm allergic to them.  I was defient in B12.   My heart is pounding and it won't stop.  Not sure what to do.   I don't have much support other than this forum.    Colleen

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌
