Okay so i am debating....I put together a mini kit on Em, and chose out everything I wanted plus added in the mini kabuki brush, since the brush i have now is kinda old, and everything with shipping came to like $28, and i am totally not complaining about the price, but should i talk to the boyfriend first, since he kinda takes care of my financial stuff(bills and what not) or should i just get it, and tell him at a later time..like when it shows up at the door and is too late to send back? I dont know if he will be okay with me blowing money on makeup...i guess i will ask him when i get home and see what he says.... :rolleyes: darn i hate not being as compulsive as i used to be

Well, do you usually buy make-up anyway, because if you do, this will actually save you a lot of money in the long run. A good foundation from a department store can cost almost $28, and you're getting six things (and even the mini sizes last forever). It's probably a worthwile $28 if you found make-up that makes you feel good and doesn't bother your skin. Maybe explain the purchase to your boyfriend first and see what he thinks? (I would probably just buy it though :ph34r:)

normally i buy make up on a regular basis, a foundation here, eye shadow there, and sometimes go all out and get 2 eyeshadows and a mascara and spend more than i will be on this purchase, I am going to go home and talk to him about it first, I dont want to have an argument over something that can be avoided...lol ;) however if he says no, then i will def. get it...is that bad?? lol but I am going to talk to him, and make the purchase tonight, besides he likes me to wear makeup, so i can spin it off, on if you want me to continue wearing it, then you gotta let me get it....lol

Jodi Mills Apprentice

Okay so i talked to him and he is so onboard for me buying it!!! going to purchase now!!!!!

Joni63 Collaborator

Glad your getting it Jodi. It will last you a long time. I doubt I will EVER need to buy the full sizes - they are B-I-G! I actually hope they come out with samples in everything because that is all I would probably need for 6 months.

My daughter came home from school today and said "I love your eye shadow". She is so loving this girly girl stuff. I took her to Old Navy and bought a ton of clothes for her for next year, couldn't believe the prices. I got 13 pieces of clothing for less than 30 bucks. I'm taking my son this weekend. It's so helpful to buy stuff on sale!

Today I'm wearing:

Medium Beige Neutral Foundation

Concealer: Sunkist

eyes: Bedtime Story (highlighter), Spin Cycle (lid), Diary (crease)

Blush: Chit Chat

Finishing: Tinted Silk Dust

Lips: Cherry Fizz

And I tried something different today. I put the Concealer on After the Foundation but thought it was a tad too yellow so I used Natural Reflections Pink on after it -- worked out great!

I just had the most horific thought........

What if the specials were only to clear end of the year inventory :o:o:o:o

and what if they don't run another one for a really really really long time??

Dang, it's been busy at work today so I haven't been able to hit "refresh" at the EM site at all today, lol. I can't believe there isn't a new special out yet, lol. It's one way to keep me from spending money, lol.

Hello all. :lol: I stumbled across this site the other day, and ordered the sample kit when I found this thread....I can't get over the prices, they're so affordable! Everyone here seems to love the stuff, so I'm anxious to try it out. Thank you all for sharing this information!

Sorry I'm late, but welcome to the cult!

Well, I was going to post this picture of myself, but I thought it would make you all feel bad about how beautiful I am. :lol: It's not really me in the pic - I don't think she's heard of Everyday Minerals yet...

Hahahahaha!!! OMGosh...it's really hard to make me guffaw, but that did it! :lol:

Well, the EM site is back up but I can't see anything different about it. I checked 'news', the special, brushes, and the eye and blush colors and it all looks the same to me. I wonder what's going on over there?

Yes, my spreadsheet tells me...there's nothing new. :lol:

Ha! LOL Colleen. Is big hair back? I need to know these things before I go to my hairdresser next Wednesday, lol! :lol:

Yeah, my appointment is Thursday! :P

So I think I figured out what's causing the little bumps I'm getting all over my cheeks (since I'm sure you are all on the edges of your seats, dying to know :rolleyes: ).

:o I hope that's it!

Okay so i talked to him and he is so onboard for me buying it!!! going to purchase now!!!!!

Yay!!!! I get almost as excited when someone else gets to order as when I do. Almost! :lol: Welcome to the group.

:wacko: Nooooooooooo.....

~~~~
Oh, did I mention that I mized Cherry Fizz and Nick Nack as a blush... VERY NICE!!!!
Green12 Enthusiast
Welcome to Jodi and Shannon, glad you guys are liking the EM :)
You have to tell us your favorites and what's in your cart, like all good cult members do :lol::lol:
Colleen,
That picture is hilarious, takes me back to the 80s :lol:
Mango,
I might try the deeper pigmented bronzers, I'm also thinking those might be the closest to the BE Warmth.
Glad you pinpointed the cause of those bumps on your cheeks, I hope a new mascara will remedy the situation.
Jodi,
I just love Old Navy. I shop there all the time, things are so reasonable as it is and then forget it when they put stuff on sale, you can really clean out the store :lol:
Jodi Mills Apprentice
i got the mini kabuki, the eye shadows were:
bundled up Matte
Pink Pajamas
Baby sitter(blue)
i believe the concealor was the intensive medium, the foundation was the multi tasking natural(original glow) and the finishing powder was the natural reflections golden tan..
i will let you know how they all work out when i get them, i soooo cannot wait to get them!!
Mango04 Enthusiast
:o:o:o
I would be equally excited if they came out with a new site that featured tons of new shades and products though! :D
Oooooh, that's what I'm hoping for especially new brushes!!! I'm soooooo tempted to wait a while to order anyway, because I want to see the new color guide and wait for a better selection of brushes. :D If I can last that long, hmmmmm... :rolleyes:
I may have asked this before, but did anyone get the flat top brush? I read a little about it on the EM website today and it seems to be a really nice foundation brush.
Joni63 Collaborator
Sorry, double post!
I LOVE my flat top brush. It's really great for applying foundation. It's really really super soft, and it applies nice even layers of the minerals.
Does anyone else notice that BE brushes feel really scratchy and horrible compared to the EM ones?
Jodi Mills Apprentice
okay i am trying to figure out how long until i get my goodies!! i believe i ordered the samples on a tuesday and got them friday, so does that mean since today is monday that by thursday i will have my stuff??? lol
Joni63 Collaborator
First your order will show 'packed', then after it shows 'shipped' you can track it at the DHL or USPS website. It sometimes helps to know where the package it, but it can also stress you out if it sits in one place too long. I think that has happened to all of us at least once. It's usually only a few days, though.
Thanks Mango. I'm debating if I want to order that one next time.
i think i got sean as excited about it as i am lol....He knows i get so excited about little things, this being one...but its HUGE for me...I think he is happy that I am finding stuff that i can use again!
Rrrreally?
I don't have any EM brushes, only BE brushes, but this is very interesting to hear.
:lol:
Yeah, I never thought anything was wrong with the BE brushes until I tried the EM ones. But now, the EM brushes are like velvety, luxurious, soft, wondrousness and the BE ones feel like scratchy, prickly straw in comparison.
I think I might bid adieu to my BE brushes when my next EM order comes in (I did get about four years of use out of them, which is pretty good I guess).
Mango04 Enthusiast
Hey Julie, How are you doing, btw? Did I read on another thread somewhere that you aren't feeling very well? :(
dlp252 Apprentice
Okay, so I mixed New Car Smell with Corner Office and so far so good--looks pretty good. Hoping the New Car Smell won't make it too orange, although I've had it on for about two hours and so far not too orange.
Sheesh, if they don't have a new special soon, will we run out of things to talk about. :lol:
I actually put ANOTHER kit in my cart yesterday. :ph34r: I have FOUR kits in my cart. :lol: Hum, like a three dog night, I have a four kit cart. :lol:
I don't have the flat top YET, but I feel the same way about the long handled kabuki. So very soft! Love that thing, lol.
I just wanted to say i cant change over to raw minerals, they have soybean oil in them, so i guess i have to wait for a new special or spend an fortune on BE lolpaula
dlp252 Apprentice
So one of the books I bought was "Making Faces" by Kevin Aucoin. He has a website and on the website are some makeup application tips along with a lot of other stuff (he doesn't use just minerals though):
      This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.
      Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/
      Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.
      I agree that KAN-101 looks promising, and hope the fast track is approved. From our article below: "KAN-101 shows promise as an immune tolerance therapy aiming to retrain the immune system, potentially allowing safe gluten exposure in the future, but more clinical data is needed to confirm long-term effects."
    • Scott Adams
      Thank you so much for having the courage to share this incredibly vivid and personal experience; it's a powerful reminder of how physical ailments can disrupt our fundamental sense of self. What you're describing sounds less like a purely psychological body dysmorphia and more like a distinct neurological event, likely triggered by the immense physical stress and inflammation that uncontrolled celiac disease can inflict on the entire body, including the nervous system. It makes complete sense that the specific sensory input—the pressure points of your elbows on your knees—created a temporary, distorted body map in your brain, and the fact that it ceased once you adopted a gluten-free diet is a crucial detail. Your intuition to document this is absolutely right; it's not "crazy" but rather a significant anecdotal data point that underscores the mysterious and far-reaching ways gluten can affect individuals. Your theory about sensory triggers from the feet for others is also a thoughtful insight, and sharing this story could indeed be validating for others who have had similar, unexplainable sensory disturbances, helping them feel less alone in their journey.
