Santa is bringing a bundle of joy to my parents house this Christmas. She is arriving tomorrow. My parents are foster parents and they take in children from infant to 4 years. The past few months my parents have taken a break with my sister having her baby and the wedding. My parents have been taking in children since I was 3, so we love when they are getting a new kid.

The Baby is a girl, she is 6 months, her name is Sierra and she has a head of blonde hair. I cannot wait to see her. She will be coming to my house this weekend with my mom. So this is the baby's first Christmas and so we are going to get her special things for her. Kids make Christmas so much more fun at our house, we miss them when there are none.

I am just soo excited!!!!

Those little ones are so lucky to have you guys. There is nothing like looking at the Xmas tree holding a little one and watching their faces when the lights go on. It sounds like you and your family are going to give her the best present any child can have, a warm and loving home with lots of hugs and kisses.

What helps right now, is our niece is 8 months so there will be clothes on hand for the first few days until my mom gets a chance to get to the store and get her some things of her own after the holidays.

I am so happy not only for you and your parents but for Sierra, she is quite a luccky little girl. I think your parents are wonderful people for doing foster care.... most people aren't capable of taking in a small child caring for it, loving it then being able to let go when its time for the child to go back to their parents. I think thats the hardest thing of all... the letting go, never knowing if the child is healthy or happy.

Well my mom has brought her home. There was a mistake made, her name is Sabrina. My mom says she is very cute and she keeps smiling when you talk to her.

So I am here and boy is she a doll! She has reddish blonde hair and she is a smiler! She is currently squirming in my lap. I will get some pictures in the morning and load them once we get to my house.

Here she is!!!! She is such a good baby. Very pleasant and always smiling and laughing. She can crawl all over and is starting to pull herself up so she can stand when next to things. She was in and out of our car all day shopping and making the trek to my house, she never whimpered, just kept laughing. She always smiles when you talk to her :)

What a beautiful baby girl! and what nice people your parents are to share their homes, lives and blessings. It's times like this that I a reminded that there are still righteous people in this world.

She enjoyed the wrapping paper and boxes more than the toys when we did the gift exchange...my sisters and I spoiled her :P

Plus, my sister tammy's baby, Silvia is 1 month older so it is a nice playmate for her.

Symptoms that get worse if you don't supplement is a sign of malabsorption, possibly due to Celiac disease. Blood tests for nutritional deficiencies are not very accurate, and should be done when you have been off of supplements for eight to twelve weeks, otherwise the vitamin supplements you've taken will be measured.  The blood circulation system is a transportation system.  It transports the vitamins you've absorbed around the body, but blood tests don't give an accurate picture of the vitamin and mineral stores inside organs and tissues where they are actually used.  You can have "normal" blood levels but still have deficiencies.  This is because the brain demands stored nutrients be put into the blood stream to supply important organs, like the brain and heart, while other organs do without.   If you are taking Thiamine Mononitrate in your supplements, you are probably low in thiamine.  Thiamine Mononitrate is used in many supplements because it won't break down sitting on a shelf.  This also means Thiamine Mononitrate is difficult for the body to utilize.  Only thirty percent of Thiamine Mononitrate on the label is absorbed and even less is able to be utilized by the body.  A different form of Thiamine called Benfotiamine has been shown to promote intestinal healing.   Talk to your doctor about doing a genetic test to look for Celiac markers.   I'm concerned that if you do a gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum off two weeks) in your weakened state, the nutritional deficiencies will become worse and possibly life threatening.

Hello, good afternoon!   I apologize, I didn’t see a notification and I’m just reading this. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and the link. Yes you are absolutely right, even so trying to get a response from them has been extremely difficult. They don’t answer but I will your practice of “guilty until proven innocent.”   I like and have a sense of trust here in this website, everyone is honest and thoughts are raw. The mutual understanding is amazing!   thank you Scott!

That and my nutritionist also said that drinking cider is one of the worst drink choices for me, given that I have candida overgrowth.  She said the combination of the alcohol and sugar would be very likely to worsen my candida problem.  She suggested that if I drink, I go for clear vodka, either neat or with a splash of cranberry.   So in summary, I am giving ciders a rest.  Whether it's a gluten risk or sugars and yeast overgrowth, its just not worth it.
