I miss the Office! this is the first season I was getting into it....saw 4-5 episodes and now all repeats!

Unfortunately, this is what the writers had to wait around for . . . no more new shows so finally the public will start getting upset, quit watching, advertisors get mad and pull commercials, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah!!!

Even if they start writing right away, then they've got to get to filming and editting . . . I think it's going to be awhile!!!

No, I am right there with you on this

Most all of my favorite shows have aired, or will be airing, the very last episode they had in the can before the strike started <_<

All I have left to look forward to is a few eps of Lost when it starts at the end of Jan.

I heard this might drag on, they were saying there might not be any new TV for the fall 2008 season :o

Yep Julie--me too :) It will only be 8 episodes, they originally planned to air 16 straight--I was really looking forward to that--but will take what I can get at this point. :P

I do miss a couple shows like Grey's and Two and a Half Men, but really, not as much as I thought I would.

I'm getting addicted to "House Hunters" on HGTV

One of my friends uncle works in the industry and he said that all the writers HAVE the scripts but they won't sell them because the strike, obviously. But, he said they think it's going to go until September!!!! :o AHHH!!!! I miss all my shows too!

I'm kind of on the side of the writers...they get the really really bad end of the deal in Hollywood (really, really bad), but I do miss some shows.

I found myself watching Dance Wars: Bruno vs. Carrie Anne the other night

I think Grey's was new last week, but it was sooooo bad! <_<

There are some great shows on the Travel Channel though. Anybody else watch Anthony Bourdain?

Ahhh I envy you folks who have cable. We live out in the country where there is no possible way of even getting cable!!! We have an antenna.

My dad loves 2 & 1/2 men!! It's a pretty funny show.

I too have to confess...I watched part of the biggest looser the other night  ....I was just happy to have something that I hadn't seen before!!! ha

I miss :

Grey's Anatomy

Men in Trees

Desperate Housewives

Brothers and Sisters

Two and a half men

Friday Night Lights

I don't get to watch them all regularly, but I guess regularly enough that I am missing them!!

I feel the worst for the other people, like the folks who work on the set who aren't going to benifit at all from the strike (make-up artists, KRAFT Service workers, janitors etc). Those are the folks who I worry about. Most probably live paycheck to paycheck to begin with, and now they have NO work!!

GAH!!!!!!! heinous!!!!!!

Well, Grey's SUCKS these days..... <_<

But I REALLY miss Friday Night Lights!

I'm getting addicted to "House Hunters" on HGTV

I'm not allowed to have expanded cable. Self- imposed rule......I would do NOTHING but watch HGTV, any kind of ridiculous "reality show," the Food Channel, History Channel.....and then how would I have time to waste time chat with my friends here?

debmidge Rising Star

This is not a criticism of the shows you like to watch as they are probably on after I go to sleep anyways and I don't watch them & don't know what they are all about..but I have basically stopped watching TV years ago as nothing interested me. So I am not missing much I feel. I don't watch the reality or dancing or Idol shows anyway. Oh, there is one show I do watch so I guess the strike will affect me.... I like to watch Monk on USA cable. Oh well.

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

Honestly, I don't do too much of the reality TV either, I watch the American Idol, but this will only be the 2nd year, we do watch wife swap and sometimes Super Nanny.

We perfer shows which are on A&E and TLC like Ice Road Truckers and Little People Big World....our new favorite is Parking Wars....boy that is funny. Those are reality shows but I think they are a different type of reality show.

Maybe we are seperated at birth.......FNL is one of my favorite shows too!!

Oh and Brothers and Sisters was just getting GOOD! They just dropped a bunch of stuff in our lap, like that new guy is he really Rebecca's father, what's gong to happen in the election, the affair is out in the open....

CLIFF HANGERS of epic porportions!!!!

angel-jd1 Community Regular

Yes, the writers strike is creating the ULTIMATE cliff hanger!!

I am wondering also what is the deal with Rebecca's father....was it William or is it this new writer/drifter type guy....hummmm. Also, why is she so embarassed of him and not want him near her. Did something ugly happen there or is it just because he is Rebecca's dad??

I also can't believe that now Robert doesn't want to have a baby......is he scared because of the miscarriage or what is his deal??

On to Friday Night Lights............geesh the whole kicking the sister out deal was pretty harsh!!!

Maybe we are seperated at birth.......FNL is one of my favorite shows too!!

I miss my shows too! :( I don't understand how the strike can continue when George Clooney offered to lock himself in a room with the writers and executives until a resolution is reached. I would not turn down that offer!

:lol::lol: I know! What's wrong with them? LOL

Did anybody watch Grey's last night? I know it was a re-run, but I fell asleep the first time I tried watching that episode, and I kind of wanted to know if the woodpecker guy was going to live  ...so....I made a second attempt at watching it. Um...I fell asleep again!

Is there something wrong with me or was that just a really boring episode?:lol: Did the guy live? What did the gentlemen's evening turn out to be? LOL. Anybody know?

Sorry Mango--I turned it off after the last new "Ugly Betty" for a while. I know last week, they repeated Thursday's episode of Grey's on Friday night....

Ok--I just checked ahead on TiVo--it's on again tonight at 8 Eastern. I never saw that one, so I think I'll watch it :D

I like Ugly Betty but sometimes I get tired of it. My sister loves Desperate Housewives.

Ok guys, this is really bad. I am left watching Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann tonight...........

I am watching Life after People on the history channel, very interesting. They were just talking about Chernobyl the place in the USSR which had the Nuclear Accident. This part sent chills down my spine. TMI is in our backyard, I can see it on my way to work...and I live in the 10 mile radius. Yikes!

I couldn't watch past the first 15 minutes of that show. Didn't do a thing for me.

I prefer the comedies on CBS on Monday nights (although they're all repeats now <_< ). My guilty pleasure at the moment is "Big Bang Theory".....it cracks me up  I actully know a few people like that

I'm actually a huge fan of Dancing With the Stars, but this I just haven't been able to get in to.

What is Big Bang Theory?? I don't even recognize that......

DWTS is starting up again in March! :D Can't wait!!!

Big Bang is on right before Two and a Half Men--it's about geeks who live ascoss the hall from a cute, perky, but kinda dumb blonde. The geeks are so OC that it just makes me laugh.

I can't wait either :D:D:D

It's always exciting to find out who the Star dancers will be. I would think they will be announcing them soon, they start training 6 weeks before the first show I think.

Exciting!

OH, ok. I know the show you are talking about, with the actress who played the daughter on 8 Simple Rules and that guy that was on Roseanne. I just didn't know the name of the show, looks cute :)

@Colleen H   I am just curious,  when you were tested for coeliac disease, did the doctors find out if you had any deficiencies? Sometimes muscle pain can be caused by certain deficiencies, for example, magnesium, vitamin D, calcium, and potassium.   Might be worth looking into having some more tests.  Pins and needles can be neuropathy, again caused by deficiencies, such as iron and B12,  which can be reversed if these deficiencies are addressed. In the UK where I live we are usually only tested for iron, B12 and vitamin D deficiencies at diagnosis.   I was very iron anemic and supplementation made a big difference.  B12 was low normal, but in other countries the UK's low normal would be considered a deficiency.  My vitamin D was low normal, and I've been supplementing ever since (when I remember to take it!) My pins and needles definitely started to improve when my known deficiencies were addressed.  My nutritionist also gave me a broad spectrum supplement which really helped, because I suspect I wasn't just deficient in what I mention above but in many other vitamins and minerals.  But a word of warning, don't take iron unless blood tests reveal you actually need it, and if you are taking it your levels must be regularly monitored because too much can make you ill.  (And if you are currently taking iron, that might actually be making your stomach sore - it did mine, so my GP changed my iron supplementation to a gentler form, ferrous gluconate). Lastly, have you been trying to take anything to lessen the pain in your gut?  I get a sore stomach periodically, usually when I've had too much rich food, or when I have had to take an aspirin or certain antibiotics, or after glutening.  When this happens, I take for just a few days a small daily dose of OTC omeprazole.  I also follow a reflux or gastritis diet. There are lots online but the common denominators to these diets is you need to cut out caffeine, alcohol, rich, spicy, acidic food etc and eat small regularly spaced meals.   When I get a sore stomach, I also find it helpful to drink lots of water.  I also find hot water with a few slices of ginger very soothing to sip, or camomile tea.  A wedge pillow at night is good for reflux. Also,  best not to eat a meal 2-3 hours before going to bed. If the stomach pain is getting worse, though, it would be wise to see the doctor again. I hope some of this helps. Cristiana

I was diagnosed with coeliac disease a couple of years ago [ish]. I love my food and a variety of food, so it's been hard, as it is with everyone. I try and ensure everything I eat doesn't contain gluten, but occasionally I think something must have got through that has gluten in. Mainly I know because I have to dash to the loo, but recently I have noticed that I feel nauseous after possibly being glutened. I think the thing that I have got better at is knowing what to do when I feel wiped out after a gluten 'episode'. I drink loads of water, and have just started drinking peppermint tea. I also have rehydration powders to drink. I don't feel like eating much, but eventually feel like I need to eat. Gluten free flapjacks, or gluten free cereal, or a small gluten free kids meal are my go to. I am retired, so luckily I can rest, sometimes even going to bed when nothing else works. So I feel that I am getting better at knowing how to try and get back on track. I am also trying to stick to a simpler menu and eat mostly at home so that I can be more confident about what I am eating. THANKS TO THOSE WHO REPLIED ABOUT THE NAUSEA .

Thanks. Since the back and forth and promises of review and general stalling went on for more than six months, the credit company will no longer investigate. They have a cutoff of maybe six months.

Is this the same restaurant? https://www.facebook.com/TheHappyTartFallsChurch/ Is it too late to take this up with your credit card company? Normally you have a few months to do a chargeback with them. It seems very odd that they are taking this approach with someone who is likely to be a regular customer--not a good business-minded way of handling things!

Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The good news is that after your gut heals (for most people who are 100% gluten-free this will take several months to two years) you may be able to slowly add some these items back into your diet after the damaged villi heal. This article may be helpful: The most common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease that may lead to testing for the condition include iron, vitamin D, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, calcium, zinc, and magnesium.  Unfortunately many doctors, including my own doctor at the time, don't do extensive follow up testing for a broad range of nutrient deficiencies, nor recommend that those just diagnosed with celiac disease take a broad spectrum vitamin/mineral supplement, which would greatly benefit most, if not all, newly diagnosed celiacs. Because of this it took me decades to overcome a few long-standing issues I had that were associated with gluten ataxia, for example numbness and tingling in my feet, and muscle knots--especially in my shoulders an neck. Only long term extensive supplementation has helped me to resolve these issues.
