Heavy Metal Toxicity Forum

Anyone else dealing with/have dealt with heavy metal toxicity? The theory is that it's my main source of issues and I'm guessing it may be an issue for a lot of you too. I'm just wondering what everyone else's experiences are, and I was wondering if we can bounce ideas and advice off of one another. Chelation didn't work for me, my body couldn't handle it, so I started the methylation process with glutathione, B-12, TMG, DMG, Sam-e...all of those lovely suppliments...and that was working but was rough so I'm currently "taking a break" so I can be a student...but currently I've been feeling HORRIBLE. Can you start detoxing again without actually trying?

Well anyways...I'd just love to hear everyone's experience with this issue, and I'd love for us to be able to bounce info off of each other, or just plain sympathy and empathy!

Yes, I had heavy metal toxicity, but I'm finished with chelation.

You might try chlorella or zeolite. Both are binders that are good at binding with metals so you can excrete them. Chelators can be counter-productive if you don't excrete the metals as you pull them out of the tissue. The binders do not have to be taken with chelators .... you might have metals floating around that they will help you get rid of.

What metals are you toxic in?

Good luck, it's a long process.

All of my family has some problems with metals......mercury primarily. I have amalgams so the children got it from me to start with.

We are all on a binder/supplement program, but I don't think was are toxic. We all have varying food intolerances and some other things going on but our overall health seems good.

Taking the wrong amount of a binder (such as chlorella) can cause more problems so it's not just something to jump into. You have to take enough to handle what your body is getting rid of. I tried chlorella that I got from Whole Foods and reacted to the small dose. I'm on a different chlorella now which was muscle tested (ART-autonomic response testing), as well as that form of testing telling me how much I needed to take.

Chlorella was too strong for me too.

I switched to dried organic cilantro a bit on everything I eat... mainly salads and in my salsa.

I also use coriander that is very slow.

Getting plenty of fiber is important to move the metals out of the system.

Glutathione is important too and sulfer compounds that pull and bind.

Cheap detox baths, saunas, and sweating workouts help excrete the heavy metals.

Lugols Iodine taken in drops also will help detox heavy metals.

Juicing with greens is great too and for most does not cause a problem.

I've done all of the above for over 2 years now and it may take a while longer to get it all out. But I can see that I'm able to tolerate more and more and not have a problem.

Thanks everyone for the responses so far..

How is everyone feeling now that some/all of the metals are gone?

I was feeling okay for a while after getting the mercury out, but to answer your question CarlaB, I still have Aluminum (very high), arsenic, copper and a little bit of other metals here and there, and I'm going through a phase right now where even my safe foods (which are very view) are making me sick. I'm not even on a detox protocol so it's very strange.

I might bring up this chlollera that you've all mentioned with my doctor. I'm seeing him soon since all of a sudden I feel like I've been hit by a train!

Hope you all are doing well!

Lugols iodine is excellent for aluminium and mercury. Within 3 months one can have it all cleared out through the kidneys and intestines.

Testing the immune system and see how well you bounce back without symptoms returning is a good way to see how well you are getting rid of heavy metals.

When I was really heavy metal toxic I noticed a dark ring of dark blue around the iris of my brown eye. It is almost gone after 2 years.

I've noticed that brown eyed people taking chemo will start to have blue eyes after a while. Notice carefully the changes as high levels of mercury and aluminum are pumped into their bodies.

If you have blue eyes already, I do not know what the difference might be.... sorry.

Do you know what other issues you might have as a result of heavy metal toxicity?

If your immune system has been compromised and you're now ill you will likely have other things to contend with. Yeast, parasites, bacteria, etc...with heavy metals the body becomes a playground for these "bugs".

The metals also interfere with detoxification so if you're not detoxing well at the moment...it would be a good idea to work on supporting that before attempting chelation again.

It sounds like you were doing that with increasing methylation and it was helping??

I'm thinking that you'll need to get back on some type of program to keep things moving...otherwise you will backslide.

I'm another one who did not do well with chlorella.

I dont think you can detox without actually trying....its not an easy process and its definately not a short process. I'm not sure that postponing treatment is best in the long run....if you can at least get back on the program (maybe at a slower pace?) you might start to feel better now...rather than later.

I personally wouldnt make any attempts at continuing with detoxing metals without having it first ok'd with the Dr. Anything which mobilizes metals can cause problems and none of it should be taken lightly IMO.

I think you are also very sensitive to things?? That means any supplement can have a negative effect if your body is reacting to it. I have had this problem and theres no way I could have managed without the help of my Dr.'s.

I'm glad you'll be seeing the Dr. soon. I hope he has a good plan to get you back on track and feeling better asap. :)

We are going through detox now as well (2 children and I). We are going through a naturopathic doctor, and using a combination of chlorella and cilantro. The most important thing to remember when going through any detox, is that the chelation also pulls out minerals, trace good metals and other nutrients. So you MUST be on proper supplementation, other wise you are depleting the good stuff as well. Any form of detox is best done under a holistic, whole body approach for good results. You could be feeling bad because you are depleting yourself of vitamins and trace minerals your need for energy and proper health.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
