Hungry!

I can't get full. Constantly nibbling. I don't think it is boredom or depression it's more like cravings. Even after a big dinner a short while later I am in the fridge and pantry looking. I never liked cottage cheese (texture) but now I crave it a couple times a day-cottage cheese and mandarin oranges. I really think I could live on it for a while. I want gummie bears (I keep a stash) I found some legal lemon drops. Fruity stuff. I eat my fruits maybe not enough veggies. Where's the beef? Love my homemade tumeric jerky. I wont even start on the pizza, maybe 3 times a week (+ or -). I had lost 30 Jan-March (now 220) then was diagnosed with Celiac and stopped my diet. I have been playing with the same 5 lbs since then.

My last glutening was May 15, My birthday.

What kinds of things do you crave?

April 2008-Crohns

May 2008-Spondylitis

June 2008-Mesenteric Cyst (waiting for GI appointment)

I generally don't have cravings. If I do, there's usually a reason for it. For example, some weeks ago, I craved tomatoes and parsley. The nurse thought I was lacking in potassium and magnesium and told me to eat these very things. I can eat refried beans pretty much any time. Those always sound good. And lately I've been eating Ian's chicken nuggets for lunch pretty much every day. They are quick to heat and easy to digest.

the only cravings I get occasionally are for sugary foods. I will try to stick to fruit when this happens, or if I have them, a couple "enjoy life" cookies. I notice that if I keep my brain occupied with something else I dont think about food or really even get hungry. I think being diagnosed with celiacs makes us think about food all the time and it is always on our minds, so naturally it may make you want to eat and make you think you're hungry. I actually dont get truly hungry like I used to on gluten. Actually, when I'm ay work I can go for the whole 8 hours and not really feel like I have to eat because I'm focused on work, but I make myself eat something. When I was on gluten I would be starving if I didnt eat in 8 hours, and still not be satisfied after eating.

I was ubber hungry for the first month or so on the gluten-free diet and then it leveled off.

I dont crave food anymore. I crave health!

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
