Libbyk,

Click on the My Controls tab at the top of the page and then click on the tab on the right that says Edit Avatar Settings then follow the directions from there. You can download a picture of your own or you can choose from the list they have available.

kejohe Apprentice

How do you post a picture?

celiac3270 Collaborator

Go to "my controls". Then go to "change avatar" on the menu on the left. You have the option of using an avatar from the gallery (most people use those) or import a picture of your own as long as it's small enough and in the correct file format.....

Just testing to see if this works....

I hope so, because the picture is identical to my golden Buddy when he was a puppy!!!!!

Must've been a cute puppy :D .....I love dogs ^_^.....anyway, your avatar change worked!

Canadian Karen Community Regular

He was the cutest thing I have ever seen (and still is....) The breeder called him Lump because he was the biggest of the litter and now he is a 2 yr old "horse"!! This dog is huge!!

When our previous golden died when I was pregnant with the twins, my oldest daughter was devastated... I promised her when the twins turned two, we would get another golden.... Well, when the boys turned two, I was SOOOO not ready to get a dog, but a promise is a promise, and I couldn't go back on my word.... So I had 2 yr old twin boys and a puppy to "train" all at the same time!! lol.... The word "chaos" comes to mind.....

I love dogs also..... I have had one my whole life. They give such unconditional love....

I was able to change the aviator picture but still seem unable to see how to change my log in name. In error when I first signed up I entered my e-mail address and would like to actually use my name.

darlindeb25 Collaborator

i am thinking there is a spot where you click on signature--when it comes up you chose your font and the size and color and click on close all tags and tell it ok--it should work--i hope----deb

celiac3270 Collaborator

You can't change your name on the board......rather, you would need to register again, which would mean that on your new login, you wouldn't have access to the PMs, address book, personal information, etc. without logging into the other....not sure if what i'm saying makes sense...basically, you need to just register again with a new name, but u can't convert your name and retain all your data.

An alternative, as I just saw Deb mentioned, is to make a signature, where, at the bottom you can say your name or whatever else you'd like to. That way you could retain all your data, not need to re-register, and still let people know your name.

Actually I can change your name on the board, just send me your old name and the new one, and mention that it is a message board User ID change.

Take care,

Scott

Thank-you for your help Scott.

just checking to see if my pic worked!

celiac3270 Collaborator

It did :). You can also check by opening a topic in which you had already posted--when you add or change an avatar, it updates in every post you've made. You can also check by clicking your name, either on the side of your post or at the top where it says "Logged in as: ______"

Does anyone have any idea on where I could find a picture that would fit it the avatar spot? And, how once I found one I would be able to move it there?

Thanks

MySuicidalTurtle Enthusiast

Well, how does one post a picture, not changing ones avitar? I have tried the different ways I know how to (the codes) and have had no luck.

Use a photo editing program to make your own avitar. It says in your user cp the sizes allowed. Then where it says upload one of your own you browse your pc and select the one you want.

flagbabyds Collaborator

To make it the right size i use the thumbnails from my digital camera

celiac3270 Collaborator

You can use a program to change the size of your picture and I would recommend doing that...

Then, just make it so that it fits the required settings for the avatars:

Your Avatar Settings

Your avatar must be no bigger than 150 pixels by 150 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 50 KB.

The following file types are allowed: gif .webp .webp .png

I thougth I knew how to post a pic, but for some reason I cant get it right....when I post a pic, this is what it does:

BLshawn.webp

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!!

celiac3270 Collaborator

You're not doing anything wrong--we just can't post pictures here. You can only post pics in your avatar....I guess it's a...misleading option :)

Guest jbugsly

celiac3270, thanks for the info. It's good to know ;)

celiac3270 Collaborator

Yep--like you mentioned in the other thread (GAB ROOM--pets), though, if you post it as a link, we can go to the url

Hi guys,

I tried to put my photo on my profile like others do but it says administrator does not give you access to this or something like that.

Can you tell me how I can get my photo on my posts?

Thanks, Jennifer

He is not just a psychiatrist.  He is also a neuroscientist.  And yes, I have already read those studies.   I agree with benfotiamine.  This is short term while glutened/inflammation occurs.  As I had already mentioned, these symptoms no longer exist when this phase passes.  And yes, I know that celiac is a disease of malnutrition.  We are working with a naturopath.

Please do more research before you settle on nicotine. Dr. Paul New house is a psychiatrist.  His latest study involves the effect of nicotine patches on Late Life Depression which has reached no long term conclusions about the benefits.   Effects of open-label transdermal nicotine antidepressant augmentation on affective symptoms and executive function in late-life depression https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39009312/   I'm approaching the subject from the Microbiologist's point of view which shows nicotine blocks Thiamine B1 uptake and usage:   Chronic Nicotine Exposure In Vivo and In Vitro Inhibits Vitamin B1 (Thiamin) Uptake by Pancreatic Acinar Cells https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26633299/   While supplementation with thiamine in the form Benfotiamine can protect from damage done by  nicotine: Benfotiamine attenuates nicotine and uric acid-induced vascular endothelial dysfunction in the rat https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18951979/   I suggest you study the beneficial effects of Thiamine (Benfotiamine and TTFD) on the body and mental health done by Dr. Derrick Lonsdale and Dr. Chandler Marrs.  Dr. Lonsdale had studied thiamine over fifty years.   Hiding in Plain Sight: Modern Thiamine Deficiency https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8533683/ I suggest you read their book Thiamine Deficiency Disease, Dysautonomia, and High Calorie Malnutrition.     Celiac Disease is a disease of malabsorption causing malnutrition.  Thiamine and benfotiamine: Focus on their therapeutic potential https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10682628/

Thanks for your response.  Everything you mentioned he is and has been doing.  Tobacco is not the same as nicotine.  Nicotine, in the form of a patch, does not cause gastrointestinal irritation.  Smoking does. He is not smoking.  Please do your research before stating false information. Dr. Paul Newhouse has been doing research on nicotine the last 40 years at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have. It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.

@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.
