Truly Gluten And Soy- Free Tomato Sauce?

Hi everyone,

Could anyone tell me an absolutely certain choice of tomato sauce (spaghetti sauce) that has no gluten, soy or high fructose? And NO cc issues? And available on the East coast, let's say in the vicinity of, oh...Maine? I think Newman's is okay but they use soy. I've had trouble in the past with all Amy's products.

Thank you for any advice! I usually make my own but it would be nice to have one that's easy on occasion.

Take care,

lisa

Bertolli makes an organic spaghetti sauce - no soy, no corn (syrup or citric acid), no dairy

And, it's quite good - although I usually add more oregano.

Ingredients for the OliveOil,Basil & Garlic sauce: tomato, olive oil, onion, sugar, sea salt, garlic, basil, black pepper, oregano

I buy it at our local grocery store in the midwest - don't know if it's available where you live, though.

You could call Bertolli to find out if they sell it in your area 1-800-450-8699

Hi Lisa :)

I buy (and love) Enrico's Traditional Pasta Sauce. I get the "no salt added", which is even labeled "gluten free".

The ingredients are as follows: tomato puree, tomatoes, olive oil, sugar, garlic, onions, black pepper, lemon juice, basil, oregano, bay leaf, fennel, and parsley.

No preservatives, artificial flavors, additives, or fillers.

I get it at Wegman's, but I know that Shop Rite also carries it. Not sure if you have either one of those up there.

The company's phone # is--1-888-472-8237......and they have a website---www.enricos.com.

I can't remember specific brand names but if you have a health food store or Whole Foods nearby they should have plenty of options.

Thank you everyone! (Hi, Patti-hope you are well!)

I am going to look for those. And, yes, Portland has a nice Whole Foods, my problem is I don't always trust the "gluten-free" label (Amy's?) I need to hear from trusted sources that it's really okay. I know it's ridiculous, but I really am one of those people who reacts to a very small amount of gluten.

I'll look again for the Bertolli's; that sounds a little familiar. I wish good old Paul hadn't put soy in his recipe...

thank you again,

lisa

And the Enrico's! Gosh, thank you, too, everyone for web-sites and phone numbers.

(I do make a mean sauce myself but I think I'm TIRED right now and looking for some fast items. Good thing I'm not a pioneer woman, I guess.

Don't forget to vote. (Is that okay to say?- I don't even know!)

maybe look for Seeds of Change if you hit the health food store. I remember that one being pretty good and problem free.

Rao's Homemade. The one I have is Arrabbiate Fra Diavolo Sauce - Hot.

Ingredients:

Imported Italian Tomatoes

Imported Olive Oil

Fresh Onions

Salt

Fresh Garlic

Crushed red peper

Fresh basil

Black pepper

Oregano

Really good. I get it at Safeway. Don't know if they have Safeway back there.

a can of diced tomatoes and some italian herbs simmered for a few minutes is a lazy approximation of homemade. (I never buy premade, cause I just don't use it, but also don't always feel like making a production from can, let alone tomato.)

Thank you some more everyone. Tarnalberry- can you suggest a trusted line of canned tomato products? sorry, I just have really not been having many processed products for years!

Thank you all!

Lisa;

I am a chef that lives in Maine and was tired of trying to find quality Gluten Free/Dairy Free Pasta sauces....I too have tried Seeds of Change, Amy's and Vino demilo...needless to say, they left me searching. They were just horrid!.

The previous post did not come through right. I wonder if tingling burning feet are part of it.. I'm not sure if it's the med reaction that people with gluten intolerance get or the food we ate  It's frustrating because a person who did not want to admit to himself I had this condition wanted me to eat this chicken sandwich and now I'm stuck with a variety of symptoms plus now I'm hungry on top of it..  I'm new to this so I forget that "one bite" of the wrong thing can hurt us.😔. Do we stop eating if someone exposed us to gluten ??  My stomach is rumbling but my joints hurt ...  It's weird because I can feel the anxiety coming on.  I get joint problems ,  I don't know if anyone ever got hot flashes?? I suppose if it affects people head to toes you can get that too.   It's weird...hard to decipher what is what.   Also how long do I have to deal with this attack??  Makes me feel like not getting up out of bed.  I get too many symptoms which  horrible.  Thank you for your response..

as my last post stated, i was diagnosed via endoscopy on the 14th of june. i have been eating amazing home cooked meals, luckily, mainly cooked by my boyfriend who is extremely careful about contamination (and is an incredible cook at that). however, i find myself in a mental rut still. being 18, this is the time in my life where i should be exploring things, going out, having fun. yet every corner i turn i'm tortured by the amazing smell of something i can't have anymore. the wonderful sight of such yummy foods. it's near torture. if my boyfriend and his friend who lives with us buy something i can't have, they'll usually eat it outside of the house or the car or wherever we are - which is greatly appreciated - but even seeing a burger or chips or a sausage roll in their hands guts me almost beyond repair. i just wanna have it again too. i miss it. i feel left out and it makes me very sad all the time. it's not their fault. they are allowed to eat whatever they want to, whatever their intestines will allow. it just stings, bad. and i feel so ungrateful given i basically have a private chef who is doubly the love of my life. but it's just so hard. i know i'll adapt. i haven't given up hope.i just wanted to vent. thank you for reading

Thank you. I must have misinterpreted a study or something. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated. Almost three years into my celiac diagnosis and I'm still learning new things.

I wasn’t clear, glucagon and gadolinium were intravenous. I drank about 5 cups of the prep during 45 minutes. I feel very tired now, probably partly because I was nervous, and partly because I had to fast for 6 hours beforehand and wasn’t very hungry when I got home.
