hehe, I told a guy he was making me sick =P I thought it was funny, but I think he got a bit offended. Why get upset over it right? make a joke..

anyway, yes you will have to be careful with that. And like I said above, I was seeing a guy for awhile and he ate gluten, I kissed him then wondered why I was getting ill. Then it hit me, he needs to brush his teeth before he can kiss me. Was to much of a chore for him sooooo, thats that. It wasnt an immediate affect, but it will creep up on you. Best thing to do is to be honest and if she really does take an interest to you she will understand.

I suggest you come up with some sexy line about "wanting to touch the true you" so you can (also sexily) wipe her lips off.

May need practice.

hehehe I like that, very cool!

In my experience, most of my lipsticks/balms/glosses have not contained gluten, so you're probably not running a terrible risk. Depending on the situation, you might think it's worth chancing it. If you get sick the first time from NOT saying anything, then by the second time you should know her well enough to tell her about your need for gluten-free kisses. And hey, you can buy her some lip balm as a cute joke.

I've also had an issue with something like this - my guy is not gluten free and he still enjoys his beer and bread every day. Would beer on his lips be an issue? When we're out in groups it's not exactly easy to ask him to go brush his teeth to kiss me.

A lot of lipsticks and balms DO contain gluten, usually in the form of wheat germ oil. We have to check all labels. Daughter and I are also allergic to almonds and sweet almond oil is another ingredient in there. I'm not sure wiping off the lips would be enough. This is a very touchy thing. I guess you would have to stick to kissing her on the cheek until you know what is in her lipstick.

Personal expirience not only yeah but OH YEAH!!! My hubby kissed me after finishing his beer, and I was ill for a week, he now will not kiss me after he has eaten ANY gluten until he has brushed his teeth....

point being IF they care they wont put you at risk intenionally.... but you have to explain it to them!

Hmm, now I'm a little nervous. I don't get symptoms like that... all I get is canker sores and some sinus issues, and bone sensitivity that has yet to go away. So, how do I know if my husband is glutening me? I've never made him brush his teeth after eating gluten. Although, typically I don't kiss him immediately after eating. Occasionally we have shared a soda (with two straws). I'm not really sure how careful to be, only because I have no indication of when I've eaten gluten. Hmm...

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
