Angel Food ministries has been around for a while. They offer boxes of food at a very low cost. It started as a way to help low income people make ends meet. Now the boxes can be purchased by anyone. It actually helps the program because it increases their buying power. They are offering a box with five pounds of breaded chicken products for $25. You can go to their website and find a site near to you and place an order online.

This is a faith-based group but they don't preach at you before they sell you the food. I think it could help lots of us stretch our gluten-free dollars!

Hope it's okay to post this! I'm only a customer!

I've been following them for some time and love their concept. I haven't quite figured out their definition of regular unit/box though. Does this mean you have order a regular box to get the allergen free box?

Per their Open Original Shared Link:

Can we receive more than one unit or special?

Yes, you can order as many regular units as you would like. To receive a special box you must first order a regular unit.

The allergen box counts as a "regular" box. You can get just one of those or you can get one of those and one or more of the "special" boxes. I ordered the allergen box and the fruit and veggie box.

Awesome! There are quite a few people in my community that benefit from their program. I have one more question. Everything on the allergen free menu is described as coated. Do you know what the coating is? I saw that on the menu and wondered.

If you contact angel food they will send you the list of the coating, also the products are coming form allergyfreefoods.com. This is a wonderful ministry, I help out at my church almost every month and the products are wonderful! :)

This is my second month ordering.

I didn't want to go through any special fuss, so I asked a friend to join. She orders the basic box and I order ameat box and the fruit and veggie box. I didn't see anything list about "allergen box". Is it new for the next month's menu?

Thanks so much for posting this. I never expected to find one within my limited travelling distance but there is one just a few miles from my home. :) Once the weather breaks and I know I can get there (no chance of snow), I will be a regular customer. I think it will help a lot and I am thrilled they have fresh produce.

I believe this is new for this program. I pick up my order on March 16 so I will let everyone know how things taste. I looked online and this price is almost half of what they charge on QVC for this stuff. Maybe more than half if you consider shipping? My kids are pretty jazzed about this and so am I!

I just got next months order sheet. It's on there and it can be purchased as a basic box - for $25!

What you’re describing is actually very common, and unfortunately the timing of the biopsy likely explains the confusion. Yes, it is absolutely possible for the small intestine to heal enough in three months on a strict gluten-free diet to produce a normal or near-normal biopsy, especially when damage was mild to begin with. In contrast, celiac antibodies can stay elevated for many months or even years after gluten removal, so persistently high antibody levels alongside the celiac genes and clear nutrient deficiencies strongly point to celiac disease, even if you don’t feel symptoms. Many people with celiac are asymptomatic but still develop iron and vitamin deficiencies and silent intestinal damage. The lack of immediate symptoms makes it harder emotionally, but it doesn’t mean gluten isn’t harming you. Most specialists would consider this a case of celiac disease with a false-negative biopsy due to early healing rather than “something else,” and staying consistently gluten-free is what protects you long-term—even when your body doesn’t protest right away.

Yes, I meant if you had celiac disease but went gluten-free before screening, your results would end up false-negative. As @trents mentioned, this can also happen when a total IGA test isn't done.

I found at Disney springs and Disney they have specialist that when told about dietary restrictions they come and talk to you ,explain cross contamination measures tsken and work with you on choices. Its the one place I dont worry once I've explained I have celiac disease.  Thier gluten free options are awesome.

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.
