Does anyone know where I can get this spice gluten free ?This is mainly Asian Indian spice but is finding alot of medicinal use in the world.

you should be able to get it from Indian grocery stories or maybe a restaurant would sell you some or tell you where to get it locally. I order it from Jodhpur with other spices we use. Have never had a problem with it and unless its powdered and mixed with something should be gluten-free

I guess you mean Asafoetida. The one place I know of that has it is Open Original Shared Link.

I've mailed them to ask the ingredients.

I found another place online calles spicesetc but am waiting for a response from them to tell me if it is truly gluten free. This spice is EXPENSIVE!!

This spice is EXPENSIVE!!

Not nearly as expensive as saffron, or even vanilla.

Given the descriptions of the taste and aroma, I wonder is garlic, onion and maybe some turmeric would make a suitable substitute.
