What Are Your Favorite Rice Cakes?

Since going gluten free, I'm finding that I am falling back on rice cakes daily! I really like the Suzie's brand but they are manufactured in a facility with wheat products although it says gluten free on the package. This seems to be the case with a lot of rice cakes. Are there any that you like that are definitely 100 percent gluten free? I'm not a fan of taking chances on CC!

Lundberg is good and made on dedicated equipment the last I checked.

As far as I know, Lundberg doesn't process any gluten ingredients in their facility. Their products are all rice-based. I love their rice cakes, especially the apple-cinnamon and wild rice flavors. Very yummy with peanut butter.

Quaker is now marked gluten free also. Just the full sized ones.

I didn't know anyone actually ate those things :o I tried some in my gluten eating days and thought they were awful :lol: Maybe I could tolerate a flavored one though; I dunno :unsure:

not bad at all with some peanut butter!

put a little PB, strawberries/bluberries and chocolate syrup and you've got a desert.

pretty good!

I refer to them as sanity savers. They are safe for both me and the dogs with allergies. Even my husband eats them. :lol:

Broken up in little pieces, they make crackers to go with cheese. Whole, with peanut butter or guacamole, refried beans, even tomato sauce and cheese.

Crumbled, they make gluten free RICE CRISPED CEREAL, to go with nut milks. You can also use them for a home made granola cereal type base by adding nuts and coconut and dried fruits. They can also be mixed with popped corn.

Moistened, they can be used for stuffing or meatloaf filling.

Really, I don't work for them, but they are the handiest little things to have around, and they keep for a long time.

True. And the Lundberg ones are much better than the ones I remember from my mom's 80s fad diet days. Those ones were just like styrofoam packing material. The Lundberg ones seem crunchier and more substantial.

Neroli, I am with you. No matter which brand (I think Ive tried them all) they're all like styrofoam. My family and I eat them every day, but we put stuff on them. It fills the need for crunchy that you miss gluten free. We spread them with peanut butter and jelly/banana/honey, cream cheese/honey/coconut.

I have actually enjoyed the caramel flavor with nothing on them. And the chocolate. Just be careful, because the mini's are not gluten free.

I love them, I eat the plain ones every day with whatever on them (most of it was already mentioned)

And they are my go-to food after being glutened (or when slightly hungover...)water and rice cakes. I ate them before I was gluten free too.

Y'know, I like rice cakes, and different flavors of them and everything. But I CANNOT eat them without making an unholy mess. I have to eat them over the sink, am I the only one with this problem?!?!

I like the Lundberg rice cakes also. Corn Thins are another alternative, similar to rice cakes but much thinner. The Corn Thins are made in a dedicated facility.

i've been enjoying the quaker brand carmel corn with pb and sliced banana! :) its been a good snack or quick meal. also, the regular flavor with a homemade avacado spread for another quick lunch or appetizer.

      Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

      I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

      Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
