Please Tell Me This Is "normal"

I don't know why I'm freaking out today, because it's happened so many times in my life....

I got glutened Friday night. I ate chocolate this weekend, which I don't tolerate well(It was PMS and couldn't resist!) So today I finally go to the bathroom(I'm usually C, not D) And there was some blood on the toilet paper, as well as mixed into the stool. Is that a "classic sign" of being glutened? I didn't notice it when I didn't have any gluten.

I'm freaking. Please help!

Blood in your stool is one of those things you should call a doctor for. It's not a "classic" gluten symptom, but I've read of it happening to a few people here. My understanding is that bright red blood is less worrisome because it's usually hemorrhoids or a little rectal damage from a hard stool but do call your doctor to be sure.

I don't know how 'normal' it is but I get that after being glutened also. I do agree that you may want to run it by your doctor especially if it continues.

Blood in the stool in my family means calling the doc's office and going in. It's a classic sign of many bad things and many benign things, but since it CAN be the first sign of bad things, I think it's worth a doc visit every time.

Makes me PETRIFIED, being I'm an over reactor, and I tend to freak and have constant anxiety. This is not the first time I've had it. Many, many years of it. I don't know why it's all of a sudden bothering me NOW. I have a lot of bulk, and sometimes they are hard to pass. I assumed they were hemroids, etc. I'm thinking my intestines are irritated? I don't know anymore. I can't find a good Dr. either.

You may be freaking out because you were glutened. Gluten tends to spike anxiety and depression issues in those of us prone to them. That said if this happens frequently you should bring it up with your doctor at your next visit. Hopefully the C will resolve on the diet. Make sure you are getting enough fiber with some cooked fruits and veggies. Sweet potatos are great for balancing the gut if you like them.

Blood on the toilet paper or ON the stool isn't generally a big problem (likely hemmorhoids), but IN the stool, espeically if it's darker, is something to call the doc's office about.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
