"Pickled" usually means a brine consisting of some combination of water, salt and vinegar. Unless the vinegar is malt vinegar, no worries. If malt vinegar is used in an FDA product it must be labeled as such. ANY grain derived ingredient in a USDA product must be disclosed. Read the label, but I would be very surprised if you found a corned beef that contained gluten.

There are still a lot of outdated lists in circulation from the days before the current labeling laws (in effect for more than five years), and before we understood (due to better scientific knowledge) that such ingredients as vinegar, maltodextrin, and others were safe.

You can also make your own corned beef. :D

I think Wegmans may be in your area. If they are their corned beef is safe. Even if they are a short drive away shopping there is worth it as they do label all their name brand products that are gluten free.

In 9 years I've never seen a corned beef with gluten.

I also wondered why there might be gluten in deli meat. I was buying some Dietz and Weston meats and they have little tags that indicate any allergens. Very surprised to see all the varieties that had soy and milk ingredients. My fave flavor - brown sugar ham has milk ingredients!

Virtually no deli meats that I know of have gluten.

Be sure to check Deli meats. Cheaper brands could have gluten as fillers. I buy Boars Head because they label all their meats and cheese gluten free.

Thank you. I must have misinterpreted a study or something. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated. Almost three years into my celiac diagnosis and I'm still learning new things.

I wasn’t clear, glucagon and gadolinium were intravenous. I drank about 5 cups of the prep during 45 minutes. I feel very tired now, probably partly because I was nervous, and partly because I had to fast for 6 hours beforehand and wasn’t very hungry when I got home.

That seems at lot of solution to have put threw you when you already have bowel issues , I will phone them tomorrow because it's sorbitol I have reactions too, thankyou for the input how do you feel now ? I'm not sure I can keep still for that long with my back issues either unfortunately I didn't know it could take that long 😕

The solution I had to drink contained sorbitol and mannitol. I was in the MRI, lying on my back, for about 40 minutes. I was given glucagon partway through, and a gadolinium contrast agent. After I got home there was some diarrhea from the prep solution.
