Does anyone own a breadmaker with gluten free programs and/or presets? I am *just about* to purchase one (a Cuisinart) but was wondering if anyone had one and had recommendations on a brand. I've found a TON for sale in the UK that have the gluten-free presets... but not so much in the US (unless I'm not looking correctly).

Anyway - thanks for any recommendations/comments before I plunk down my $$

Unfortunately, the only one I know of with a gluten-free setting is the Welbilt ABM-150R and they don't make it anymore. It has a program on the front face called "multilogic program", but it has to be that model. (Welbilt also private labeled some for Sears called "The Kenmore Choice" and its the same thing if it has the 'multilogic program' on the front face of it. It was such a god send to me when my husband was first diagnosed because the program eliminates the second rising; and also it has a cool down cycle at the end so you don't have to even be home to take it out when its done. I used to go home on my lunch hour and throw all the ingredients in and turn it on; and when we got home from work, there was a lovely loaf of bread waiting for us.

I own three of them now, my original one and two more I picked up second hand. We have 5 children and 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and I figure the odds of them getting used somewhere down the line are pretty great. I just wrapped them in plastic and have them stored in the basement. The breadpans and paddles are very quality non-stick finish so after scrubbing really good I wasn't too concerned about cross-contamination. If you every see one, I'd snap it up because they are a jewel.

I have just used a "normal" bread machine. Neither of those I have used had any special settings yet my bread comes out quite nicely. My favorite is my older Regal that is no longer mfrd...and the kids have accidentally thrown the paddle in the trash. How frustrating.

I found one with a gluten free setting.

It is a cuisinart...

I purchased mine from manna from anna-it's a zor. no gluten free settings but I love it.I use it to make her bread mix weekly. Her mix id wonderful

      Hi @Atl222 As @trents points out, there could be many reasons for this biopsy result.  I am interested to know, is your gastroenterologist concerned?  Also, are your blood tests showing steady improvement over the years? I remember when I had my last biopsy, several years after diagnosis, mine came back with with raised lymphocytes but no villous damage, too! In my own case, my consultant wasn't remotely concerned - in fact, he said I might still get this result even if all I ever did was eat nothing but rice and water.   My coeliac blood tests were still steadily improving, albeit slowly, which was reassuring.

      Welcome to the celiac.com community, @Atl222! Yes, your increased lymphocytes could be in response to oats or it could possibly be cross contamination from gluten that is getting into your diet from some unexpected source but not enough to damage the villi. And I'm certain that increased lymphocytes can be caused by other things besides celiac disease or gluten/oats exposure. See attachment. But you might try eliminating oats to start with and possibly dairy for a few months and then seek another endoscopy/biopsy to see if there was a reduction in lymphocyte counts.

      This is a solid, well-reasoned approach. You’re right that “koji” by itself doesn’t indicate gluten status, and the risk really does come down to which grain is used to culture it. The fact that you directly contacted Eden Foods and received a clear statement that their koji is made from rice only, with no wheat or barley, is meaningful due diligence—especially since Eden has a long-standing reputation for transparency. While the lack of gluten labeling can understandably give pause, manufacturer confirmation like this is often what people rely on for traditionally fermented products. As always, trusting your body after trying it is reasonable, but based on the information you gathered, your conclusion makes sense.
