Question About Thinning Hair And No Thyroid Problems

Hi,

I remember 5 years ago before I got on my supplements, my hair was "suddenly" short and thin. I might have wacked it with a scissors because it was in horrid condition. I didn't notice extra hairs dropping.

My question: Does anyone have the thinning hair without the thyroid issue? At the time my thyroid tested normal. I am considering having it rechecked.

But my hair is thick and lush and longer now.

I lose a lot of hair. My thyroid is in a very good place for me, so not thyroid.

My doc says my low-normal vitamin D needs to be higher still, could be that. My B vitamins are okay.

Could be an imbalance of hormones I am told.

I am frustrated by the hair loss but it is the least of the things that have bothered me, and the most elusive to solve.

I would recheck thyroid..many docs will say everything's fine if you're results are at the high end or low end of the range so definitly retest TSH, free T3 and free T4. I would also get your iron levels checked

I do have a thyroid problem but I noticed some great regrowth after I had been gluten-free for a couple of months. I was super excited but then I had a thyroid flare up and it thinned again.

My cousin, who is a celiac with no other issues, had thin hair for years and after a couple of years gluten-free, she has beautiful thick hair... it's quite a noticeable difference on her.... I'm jealous. LOL

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
