Menstrual Cycle Becoming Irregular After Being Gluten Free?
Yenni replied to Sarah8793's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My period has been a bit off before gluten free (bad cramps, long period, horrible PMS) but it is worse now after I quit with all the stuff that bothers me (gluten, dairy and Legumes). I have sterted to spot almost the whole month the last two months. I went to the doctor again and she gave me birth control pills to set it back on track. Hormones are affected... -
ARCHIVED How Long Until Feeling Better?
Yenni replied to AllysonBrightMeyer's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It's been a slow thing for me. I noticed small changes at first but nothing bigger. I am sure the fact that it took a couple of months for me to figure out I can't have any Legumes at all and no dairy. Once I stopped with these things I started to get more energy, but I still have a long way to go. According to EnteroLab and Dr Fine it is normal that it... -
ARCHIVED Gluten And Legume/soy Free Licorice?
Yenni replied to Yenni's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have tried a Key Lime candy and a Raspberry one from this brand and they are a bit weird in the texture. Fall apart in the mouth kinda. I am pretty desperate so I'll probably end up trying some but I'll keep on looking for other stuff too because it doesn't sound like a winner. Thanks for the reply. -
ARCHIVED Gluten And Legume/soy Free Licorice?
Yenni replied to Yenni's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have read that soy is used to keep things from sticking to things. I know it is commonly used with cough drops for example. It is a cheap product I guess so very popular. So maybe they are using it for that... I'll post the answer I get from Gimbals about the soy when I get it. Nothing so far. I can't get the first link to work. I tried to remove... -
ARCHIVED Gluten And Legume/soy Free Licorice?
Yenni replied to Yenni's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found these; Open Original Shared Link Anyone tried their licorice? Does it taste "normal" (now I don't think Red Wines or any of that red stuff is licorice)? -
I had to go see my regular doctors office for a sinus infection the other day and I brought my EnteroLab results. The doctor accepted it with no problems. The fact that my heart burn is sooo much better helped too I am sure. Such a relief, I was a little worried about it when I ended up with a negative blood work result there last spring. I saw a different...

ARCHIVED Gluten And Legume/soy Free Licorice?
Yenni posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I LOVE licorice and haven't been able to find any gluten and legume/soy free one. Does anyone know of any??? (I was looking at Gimbals but they use Soy in their facilities it said on their page. I did write them an e-mail about how they used it and on all machines..but it is probably out when I am very sensitive to that stuff.) -
ARCHIVED Dogs - Can They Have celiac disease?
Yenni replied to debmidge's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We feed our dog gluten free food (because of me) and first we tried "Solid Gold Barking At The Moon". It is both soy and gluten free. It is high in protein though so it can be a problem for some dogs. Our dog kept on having really bad gas on it so we started using "Canidae" Instead. They are all gluten free but has legumes (not soy though I belive). Works... -
ARCHIVED Ugh! Glutened Or Legumed..or Something.
Yenni replied to Yenni's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I mean to post what brand the fish was. It is called Wild Pacific. The Halibut was fine but the salmon, well my fingers turned orange so they must have had a coloring on it. Unlabeled. I read that the same food coloring as is used in yellow cheese is usually used in fish. I did a search on this board and it is said to be gluten free, but can create a reaction... -
It is scary how easy it is for some people to just think of themselves. I hope it turns out ok with your son. Hopefully she will end up giving up and do what is best for you and your son. Good luck!

We ended up getting our own micro wave oven and our own fridge. I don' think I would have managed without them. I also got my own pans and stuff that I keep upstairs where we live. I have talked to my husband about us eating together and we did some of the days during the week. Today was my birthday and my MIL actually took out her best china and washed...

I have had canker sores really bad from time to time. I can get several at a time and some times I got really big ones. I remember one summer (just after I had Mononukleosis) I had one big one almost a whole summer. Now towards the end, well probably the last year, I had them as soon as I used sulphate containing tooth past. I stopped with gluten and...

Oh, that looks pretty. I love dogs. Mine is a lab/german shepherd mix. I wanna get another one as soon as week can move. I am thinking German Shepherd, but I might just go for another mutt. I have never heard of that dog breed before. What did it say about temperament? -

Your post does ring a bell. Thanks for posting. I do have clots too, but they are always small so I thought my period was lighter. Interesting. I am starting to wonder if it could be endometriosis... I am gonna pick up that book. I think I am not counting my period cykle the right way. Alsp my life has been VERY HARD with a lot of stress, especially... -
Thank you everyone. Yes, it felt good to get it off my chest. I do not count in my husband to "the family". He is good to me and I know he is on my side. He has tried talking to the others some, but it doesn't do anything. It's like they just don't get it or mostly have no interest it seems. He has 3 siblings and they are all pretty stuck with "what I say...

ARCHIVED Ever Have Problems With Gluten Free Grains?
Yenni replied to Yenni's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
No I have never rinsed the Quinoa. I am gonna do that next time. Anyways.. I tried a short grained brown rice from Lundbergs and it seems like it worked ok with me. We'll see. -
I love Bananas too. I probably eat 4-5 a day. I am allergic to so many other fruits so Banana has pretty much taken their place.

ARCHIVED Food Coloring In Frozen Salmon
Yenni replied to Yenni's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I started reading about it online and some companies even put food coloring on fresh Salmon. Yeah, very nasty. I am sticking with Halibut for now. This summer we are gonna catch our own Salmon instead. Put a bunch in the freezer. -
ARCHIVED Are There Any Companies That Are Completely Gluten Free ?
Yenni replied to marciab's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I LOVE their stuff! If it wasn't for the Very Berry Bars I wouldn't have survived. I eat TONS of those. -
I am so depressed. I feel I have struggled with disease for so long, along with a bad childhood. I am going to a counselor and it is great, but now we have money issues so I have to wait a while. I have moved across the world to live in my husbands country. We live with his family because of financial difficulties, a lot of bad luck and me being sick....

ARCHIVED Not Pregnant, But "lady" Issue
Yenni replied to Yenni's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Ugh, I had a 11 day long period this last month. 3 days of them with regular flow and the others light. 3 days after it stopped I am spotting again. This time more. Been for 2 days now. I have to say I am pretty scared. I am gonna call for an appointment tomorrow. I really hope it isn't something serious. I am so tired of being sick or having something...
