  8. i had a thought. i've been craving hot dogs lately (don't ask me why...) and i was thinking of how to eat one, since gluten-free buns I've tried weren't all that great. I saw a recipe in a cooking mag (i think it was rachel ray) for pigs in a blanket, and different variations. i figured a good ol' PIB w/ some ketchup and mustard would do the trick Now I...
  9. Brown rice flour goes rancid rather quickly so most sources say to keep it refrigerated. I don't use it much, but I keep it in the back of the fridge. Just keep the rest in a cool dry place. I also keep my Xanthan Gum in the freezer.
  10. Don't know if this was the best place to post, but since it has to do w/ baking.... K, since I was a kid, I've LOVED to cook. Especially baked goods, breads cookies, all that. I even looked into different culinary schools when I graduated from high school, but never persued anything. Since dx, I've been experimenting desperately to make good foods again...
  11. will i have a problem going off bc cold turkey? i've just gotten over withdrawals from not refilling my anti-depressant meds, and i don't wanna go through that again. but i'm at the end of my month, and wondered if i could just stop taking it? should be ok right?

  15. I've had good success w/ the cream hill oats as well. wanting to try making some oatmeal cookies
  16. good to know. how do you deal w/ the smell though? I can't stand it! My husband hates it too. I only use it when I am going crazy itching and flaking.
  17. I think one of the keys to having a food supply is to have foods you will eat, and know how to prepare. A small camping stove/burner is important for cooking and boiling water. We have tons of those little propane bottles. I like that Adelle listed so many other things that you would need in a disaster, besides food. Other things to add are bathroom staples...
  18. I work at a dental office and I know everyone is quite unaware of gluten-containing products. I've had to educate just about all of them of my condition, but I haven't done much looking into the products. I should, so I know for myself, and for other patients who may come in w/ celiac disease. I'm sorry to hear about your bad experiences at the dentist...
  19. that sounds like a good plan still burned but its getting better. been drinking lots of water, using aloe vera w/ lidocane, lotion, baking soda baths, advil. next time, more sunscreen!
  20. that's what my dr told me. i read that using an iud can cause damage to the uterus, complicating things for first time pregnancy. what is this? i'm also interested in getting off it b/c of a low libido. helpful?
  21. so i just got a gym membership and my husband thinks it would help maximize my work at the gym if i were to get off birth control. he's willing to compensate in keeping us from getting pregnant (condoms), but i guess i'm doubting that it will really help that much. and i'm terrified that i'll get pregnant. will it help? i do remember gaining a bit of weight...
  22. i was in vegas over the weekend, and stayed out in the pool too long. what does everyone recommend?
