  1. It hasn't even aired locally yet...serves me right for reading this thread before AI! Michelle

    ARCHIVED Boils?

I've had some luck in the past with using Betadine for washing. My skin is really bad now (itchy "acne" and sometimes boils)...I'm hoping going gluten free will have an impact in clearing it up. Michelle
  3. That is a bummer! I saw the still image on the page, and then got the "no longer available" message when I pressed play. Maybe ABC will have the segment on their website? Michelle
  4. Hmmm, It's still working fine for me. Thank you, jerseyangel, for posting it. I had set my VCR to tape, but set the end time incorrectly...so I ended up with a whole four minutes of recording!! I was so happy to be able to see the video online instead! Michelle
  5. I'm surprised that this thread has been made "active" again. I thought it had been beaten to death already. It certainly doesn't need to turn into a thread about religion. Michelle
  6. Adhesives contain all sorts of ingredients...it can be tough to track down the source of reaction. For myself, I found out I'm allergic to potassium dichloride (AKA chromium, chromate, chrome, chromite, potassium dichromate) which is used in some (many?) adhesives and glues (chromium is also found in a long list of other common products) and is a likely cause...
  7. Interesting...I didn't know that. I'll have to look into it. It certainly isn't something my doctor(s) have suggested, but they seem to be content with just saying, "but you look so healthy!" Blah. I don't feel healthy, and my symptoms certainly don't indicate healthy! Well, I'm a bit of a skeptic, so until insurance covers the cost of Enterolab...
  8. Campbell's Bean & Bacon soup is gluten free too (at least in Canada!) But it does have MSG in it. Michelle
  9. It's very easy to do! I suggest getting a proper laminate blade (for circular saw) for cutting the laminate...it's very tough stuff and hard to cut through. We dulled a blade very quickly when laying floor in our basement...the final cuts were tough to do. Michelle
  10. Yes, they're the top 8 food allergies. Though it doesn't mean that the food allergens won't cause skin reactions too, especially if you're wearing it against your skin for hours at a time. I'd bet that the top airborne allergens are pollens (of which grasses - like wheat - can be one.) Michelle
  11. It's possible that's why my skin is like that, but I am very fair and tan quite easily which I think is the more likely reason. BTW, I'm now noticing white patches here and there in my skin...starting to wonder if it is vitiligo, which is also autoimmune. So far it's a big fat negative for celiac with the testing I've done. I strongly suspect I am at least...
  12. I wouldn't look at it as being food fibre so much as being plant fibre. After all, cotton, linen and hemp are from plants too...and people could also be sensitive/allergic to them, and be sensitive to synthetics too. However, I believe it would be required to list the contents in the clothing. As far as I can tell, the clothing is typically marketed...
  13. Unfortunately, soy fibre clothing already exists...and it looks like corn clothing does too. Not surprised about the desire to do the same with wheat. Michelle who already has trouble with many fibres other than cotton
  14. I'd try eliminating caffeine. I found my energy levels improved when I stopped drinking coffee, tea and pop with caffeine...and reduced the amount of chocolate I eat (that was tougher to give up!) It had been affecting the quality of sleep, which affected my tiredness during the day. I also found a boost of energy from iron supplements (my levels were...
  15. I can't answer your question about the connection to celiac disease, but wanted to point out that the triple screen does have a fairly high rate of false positives. The numbers I have seen are between 19-24% of tests are falsely positive. Michelle
  16. I would search the Open Original Shared Link and on Open Original Shared Link for others' experiences. Perhaps there is a precident for this particular issue where Apple will help out...or perhaps others may have info on after market products that work for replacing the battery. Michelle
  17. I had trouble choosing some pics...especially for art...I appreciated the art in all the images. Finally, it came up with this for me: Easy Rider Conqueror New Wave Puritan Love Bug Don't think it was terribly accurate...and I don't get the Puritan thing...is it because my biggest Gross Out was smoking? Otherwise, I'm pretty much as far from...
  18. The best source of vitamins and minerals will always be from our food. I think it is wise to supplement with vitamins that may be deficient in the diet, especially folic acid. There is just way too much science pointing to the necessity of folic acid for proper fetal development, plus it's recently been discovered that proper levels during pregnancy reduces...
  19. Antonella doesn't have anywhere near the talent of the other girls. She's always off key and has a weak voice...I was really surprised when she made it to the final 24 in the first place. My guess is it's strictly about her looks. She shouldn't make it through tonight...I don't think Haley deserves to continue on either. Michelle
  20. Hi Frogster, and welcome. Please post this as a new thread (if you haven't done so already)...you will get more/better response to your questions. Michelle
  21. There is a search feature in the menu items. You can do an advanced search with specific parameters. Michelle
  22. I'm an adult that doesn't/can't eat breakfast...and didn't eat much breakfast as a kid either. I'm just not hungry first thing in the morning (I think it has to do with me being such a night owl) and, if I do eat, the most I'll have is a bowl of yogurt with ground flax seed. Usually I will eat a few hours after I get up, and, on the days I exercise, I eat...
  23. What about lunch for breakfast? A sandwich, pizza, pasta...no reason you have to have breakfast-type foods in the morning! Can your son have a snack during recess? I always pack enough for my kids to have a snack at each recess plus a good-sized lunch. Sometimes they bring snacks home that they couldn't finish...so I know they aren't going hungry during...
  24. Just a thought... It's impossible to tell if and how many times a post has been reported...so this could mean that a post gets reported more times than necessary. Is there a way (a program setting of some sort) to show that a report has already been sent in by one (or more) people? Michelle
  25. I didn't take prenatal vitamins. They can actually contribute to pregnancy nausea for some women...and I was one of the lucky ones with nausea for the first three months. I did take folic acid supplements though...along with a healthy, vitamin rich diet. Michelle
