Ok so I'm having a strange allergic reaction to something. My lips are swelling. It happens every year or so (at different times of the year) seemingly completely at random. So far the only things to get rid of it have been pregnizone (sp?) for 9 weeks (I'll NEVER do that again!) and shots of cortizone (or something that sounds like that) IN my lips (ouch...

I had one a few years ago. I lost it, but it rocked while I had it! Totally worth it. At first it's a little uncomfortable, but it molds to your body, so stick with it! It sure would come handy to have one now (after I'm going off the depo shot, and I'm on week 4 of my period while my body re-adjusts). Just my humble opinion.

ARCHIVED Not Sure If This Quite Belongs...Adelle replied to Adelle's topic in Related Issues & Disorders I rented "taking charge of your fertility" from the library. It seems like it'd be useful if I could track my cycles! I have no idea how long my cycle is because my period isn't stopping so how can I count the days from one to the next!! This is the 4th week straight for me. I think I'm gonna give it some more time before I worry too much. In a few months...

So my husband and I decided that we are gonna "try" a little later this year. So I decided to go off the depo shot (we're using condoms till we're ready) so that when we're ready, we'll be able to try right away. Well, long story short, this is the start of my fourth week on my period! Arg! I called my insurance's nurse line (I reeeally don't wanna see...

I just listen to my body. I find that I personally feel better when I eat a small of carbs (gluten-free banana bread lately), and protien at every meal. I dunno why, vegis (I especialy like asparagus, broccoli, and brussel sprouts) and meat are kinda my ideal diet. I have some super-dark chocolate (a piece/day or so). Super good multi-vits and a b complex...

ARCHIVED Great Help At Whole FoodsAdelle replied to wowzer's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease We don't have a wild oats near us. We have a smaller store called "lifesource". When I first went gluten-free I went there, flagged someone down, and asked what I could eat. They have this nifty little thing, on their price sticker (on the shelf) it says gluten-free, CF etc. They even color code them!! It rocked! I like it cause the gluten-free stuff...

ARCHIVED Another Birth Control Pill QuestionAdelle replied to Dancypants's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I was on the pill for probably 3 years (pre celiac dx) and it worked for me. Just a warning tho, DO NOT get the depo shot! I had it for a year and now that we're gonna start trying soon I decided to stop taking it. I'm on week 3 of my period!!! I know it's just my body kinda trying to put itself back. But it still sux. While on the shot I had maybe 2...

ARCHIVED What Do You Feed Your Dog?Adelle replied to jesscarmel's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff I'm an equine and canine massage therapist.... I see digestive upset all the time. Dogs are MEANT to be gluten free. Wheat is no good for them! Almost w/o fail, when I see a dog with poo problems, I ask what they feed... And volia! Wheat! They CAN eat it, it's just not good for them. I always suggest finding a food with little to no wheat. Vegis...

ARCHIVED Not Diagnosed By Doctor; But On Diet Anyway...Adelle replied to betterbelly's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I'm too exhausted to read everyone's posts, so I'll just throw my 2 cents in If having a doctor officially say "you have celiac disease" means something to you, then do it. If you don't care, don't. It's perfectly safe to eat gluten-free. After 6 years and 10 doctors, I just didn't care if they agreed with me or not. I feel incredible when I stay...

ARCHIVED Sadness From My SisterAdelle replied to Adelle's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff I know, I tried to change the subject. We went outside and played after that. Thanx for all of your support! I sure needed it! It's a nervewracking process! Thanx again...

Arrr! Can I just whine for a second? Ok so ryan and I told my sister that we are thinking about having a child. Keep in mind that 1) she had katie 4 years ago with an abusive meth-head, came here is still living with our mother and she has never had an actual job. And 2) ryan supports both of us just fine, we have 0 help from either of our parents,...

ARCHIVED What Was Your Favorite Christmas Gift?Adelle replied to Lisa's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff Ahh I don't know why my post showed up that many times! I can't figure out how to take it down (I'm on a sidekick not a regular computer so stuff shows up differently and often doesn't work at all)! Sorry! If someone wants to take it down for me I'd appreciate it!

Yeah when he had breastmilk (and later formula) he threw up violently, that scares me! If our child has problems with breastmilk, I'll cut out dairy, soy, etc. But if I can't fix it I'm thinking I'll go right to goatsmilk. Still unsure.

Thanx for the advice! Next grocery trip I'll look for prenatals. I'm gonna give my body some time to stockpile goodness before more testing. But we will go to the doctor well before I I go off the shot etc. I deffinately want to breast feed... Ryan was HORRIBLY allergic to breastmilk and formula. He had goatsmilk, it's all he could tolerate! I'm hoping...

ARCHIVED What Was Your Favorite Christmas Gift?Adelle replied to Lisa's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff My fam super cleaned their home and they made an entirely gluten-free meal! It was lovely! My favorite actual gift was one of those food vaccum saver things. Mom thought it would be good to freezer pack stuff for when I'm sick and can't cook. It's so cool! I also got a piercing on the nape of my neck. It's soo cute! Love it! Oh happy new year!

Ok so I'm gonna ramble a bit, but ya'll r so smart, I need help! I'm healing super well, and everything is going great. Ryan (my lovely hubby) and I are thinking about starting a family. The general goal is to start "trying" in 6mo-1 year. Depending on what happens in the meantime. Yay for that! The thing is, nobody (I mean NOBODY) I know has had...

ARCHIVED Neurological Disorders Associated With Celiac?Adelle replied to cyan1117's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs I can't tell you what to do, but I can tell u what I did. I'm 22, I've been dx'd major depressive disorder, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, etc etc. I used to vomit from emotions so intense my body felt like it was going to explode. 4 months ago I went gluten-free. I don't feel 100% better, I still have strong emotions, but (hope this isn...
