  1. Hi Aizlynn; it makes perfect sense. Your colour is likely better, and if you are feeling better it makes you look better by putting a little spring in your steps and more smiles on your face. Everyone always looks better with a smile for sure I think most people weigh themselves too often and adds stress to the diet. We are only weighing in once a...
  2. Wow, thanks for sharing that! It's awesome and too true!
  3. Hello Trev; Welcome to the forum! You can generally get most questions answered here as we have a wonderful and wide variety of people here. It's just like a big city of gluten free friends
  4. Sheba gets "Barking at the Moon " too. I mix it with another gluten free, Solid Gold product called "Just a wee bite" It cuts way down on the gas. And as Sheba isn't a large dog, she likes the tiny pieces.
  5. Well said Deb! I react to the smallest things, and can eat their fries with no problem. Having said that ... Make your own choice! That's what life is all about, if you are an adult you have the freedom to chose.
  6. Liz, I'd love to work with your puppy .. and of course share that chocolate Not with the puppy of course. Chocolate is poisonous to dogs, and so is onions. Perhaps your main problem with the puppy training is going to be "being consistent." With so many working with him it will be hard. You really must sit down and figure out which training words...
  7. Oh Liz .... chocolate dipped fruit! That's to die for That would be impossible to resist. Busy day for me today. Morning was at home just doing chores you know those hateful house cleaning stuff Went to Castlegar this afternoon for a kennel club meeting, then a few of us die hard obedience people worked our dogs until four. Add an hour...
  8. It does sound like a zoo, doesn't it? My problem with it is that we do have all these deseases now associated with meat that we didn't have when there was only a few head of cows on the property, or a few chickens for eggs. Keeping animals in such close quarters as the modern meat and poultry farms and slaughter houses do now, makes it almost impossible...
  9. Hello and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you found us. It's great that you have decided to take your health in hand. Start with one day at a time and pretty soon you will find it much easier. I'll be looking for you when I am on, hope you join us in the fun parts as well as keeping our diets as well as possible.
  10. Have you tried doing a google search? Most larger cities have web sites for their chapters. Also you should be able to find it through the Canadian Celiac Ass. web site. Hope that helps.
  11. Yes, lots of people feed raw diets. Do take care though ... very young dogs and very old dogs CAN get ecoli if the meat is contaminated with it. We almost lost our Sheba with ecoli when she was a pup. Cost us over three hundred dollars at the vets. And that was several years ago. Other healthy dogs don't get it once their dietary track is mature. Also...

    ARCHIVED New Here

Welcome to both of you It's great that you have found the forum. It really is very helpful with great recipes and sometimes just fun, goofy posts aparde, you have quite a hand full. Our oldest daughter wasn't diagnosed until she was about 37, although I spent years trying to get her tested. She just couldn't find a doctor who would listen to her...
  13. Yes, Ambesol is gluten free. Sore mouths are not fun, hope it's better soon!
  14. I have a good friend that can't tell left from right. She's a school teacher, or was, she's retired now. However, we went on a long trip and she was reading the map, and she almost drove me crazy telling me to turn right, when it should have been left. It got to be a big joke "turn left right here" I'm not sure what causes it though. Nancy...
  15. Busted Liz That's too funny. I've never been able to aquire a taste for the brown rice bread But it's good you have ... I'm told it's healthier.
  16. Hi all! We spent the morning and part of the afternoon over at the Club house interviewing people for the greens keeper job. I think we got a good one, he's a nice young, clean cut man who is interested in learning from our Superintendent and wants to take a course that is geared for working on golf courses. So, that's a good thing Actually, four of...
  17. I took Celebrex for about 4 months, and it wasn't effective so went onto Viox. That seemed to work much better, then of course they took it off the market and I changed back To Celebrex within a day of not having the Viox. You would think, because they are all the same type of medication it wouldn't have taken too long to see results. Anyway ... not...
  18. I used to be on Viox, but when they took that off the market, Dr. put me on Celebrex. It didn't work for me, so was only on it for a short time. I'm on Mobicox now, which is one of the older anti-inflammatory drugs. But all three of these are gluten free ... although you can't get Viox anymore.
  19. Ahhh, wine has that many huh But it counts as a fruit right? Patti I sure hope your treadmill is behaving, it can get scary when they don't behave. We went for our usual walk outside today, but there is still so much ice around that you really don't get a whole lot of exersize. You're too busy trying to stay on your feet. My quilters came...
  20. Oh my, a chisel would probably be safer than a butcher knife Liz, my screen name isn't anything exciting. It's my middle name. I have so many passwords and user names that I have to use something I can remember It's an age thing you know. Autumn, you have your tax money already? We haven't even filed ours yet. Hopefully in the next couple of...
  21. Not a fun way to find out It's hard when the test results don't help. Were you eating lots of gluten before the tests? They would have given you a false negative if you weren't eating enough gluten when they were taken. Perhaps it's a gluten intollerance instead of Celiac, however the treatment is the same.
  22. You had a regular hamburger bun? Or am I misreading your post?
  23. Welcome to this nutty group, I'm so glad you are joining us. We are having such fun, but I'm sure it's helping too. At least I'm down two pounds since we started For today; B - gluten free cereal with skim milk L- peanut butter and banana sandwich S - orange & handful of M & Ms D - left over scalped potato, pork chop and little bit...
  24. Hello, Yes Celebrex is gluten free. At least in Canada. And I think it comes from the US, so is likely gluten free in both countries.
  25. Yes, corn starch is just fine and is great for thickening things. If you are making gravy, or thickening a soup with potatoes in it, try using potato flour. That just adds to the potato taste of gravy on mashed potatoes or potato soup :-)
