  1. NO PROBLEM! I just don't want you to get in any trouble (not like Scott is harsh or anything at all). I think due to the real advertising he has on the site he has to be careful of the "free" advertising so he doesn't lose sponsors. It is in the guidelines you agree to when signing up (but who reads ALL of those when you sign up somewhere! LOL )....
  2. Restaurants have this problem too, which is why they usually fry on an as need basis...and toss the leftovers at the end of the night. I would bake and make in smaller batches - no more than you'll eat in one sitting.
  3. NOT being forum police here - but I want to protect you from my mistakes in the past. You're not allowed to post your blog as a link in a post. You ARE allowed to add it to your profile and I think you're allowed to direct people there. I just don't want you to make the same mistakes I did.
  4. Hey...it's like Ready Set Cook! Okay....I'll bite.... Chicken Tortilla Soup Tomate sauce Chicken Broth Chicken Canned Corn - drained Spices (gonna depend on what you have) Corn Meal Saute chicken breasts. Add 1 cup sauce, 1 cup broth, canned corn (drained), 1 tbs chili powder 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder...
  5. Open Original Shared Link You're in WI? I just looked for an Aldi - don't know if any near you. they are CHEAP. I get the corn tortillas from them (there are 36 in a bag for 89 cents). I also get a lot of their vegetables and fresh foods...very very cheap. I get Romaine Hearts for $1.69 a three pack....most grocery stores are $4.99 IF...
  6. Stop at the front desk and ask them for their list. My faves: Van's Gluten Free Flax Waffles (I know some have problems with Van's but I never have) Tinkyada Brown Rice Pasta 365 Rice Sesame Crackers Health Valley Rice Crunchems and Corn Crunchems Milk Cheese (check) Thai Kitchen Soups (check, not all are gluten free). Of course...
  7. Ya know...when I was a pampered Chef consultant, they came out with these one year. I remember thinking to myself "What the heck are these for!". Little did I know that just a few short years later, I'd be wishing I had them! LOL I've heard of them....but I've NEVER used them. We have a large 4 slot toaster. (well, it's really two really LONG...
  8. THANK YOU DEBBIE! Those sound DIVINE!!!
  9. Hi there. I feel your plight. How are you supposed to be gluten free if you can't afford the foods! UGH! Anyway...I agree with others, stick to fresh fruits, veggies & meats. Rice & Potatos (not the rice a roni type stuff, obviously). I actually just found a puffed rice cereal at our Giant that was only $1.55/bag and it says gluten free right...
  10. I go to an indian/asian grocery to get most of my flours. The one brand of spices we did buy from them (it was a curry powder) straight from India (well, the spice is from india, but packaged for sale in NJ). It listed rice flour as an ingredient. It was Batak, i think. I would definitely call the mfg if they have an american distribution place (a...
  11. Debbie, that's wild!!!! Sounds yummy too! The recipe is definitely more like a cake donut than a yeast donut.
  12. I haven't made the roux traditionally with the flours (melt butter, add flour, brown up, etc). BUT...I have mixed cornstarch in the milk, then heated it until thick, added butter (for flavor) salt & pepper, etc. I've used that to make soups, white sauce, and cheese sauce for noodles. It's always tasted great.
  13. I've got a restaurant supply store up the road from me...I'm going to hit them tomorrow to see if I can find them.
  14. Earlier this year I called French's and they sent me a list. Thier mustards are gluten free - with the exception of the honey mustard (I'm not sure what in the honey mustard is gluten, i haven't picked it up since). I buy thier spicy mustard and have not had any problems with it at all.
  15. My favorite so far is the link you were already given. I don't each much bread lately, but when I do it's this recipe. VERY easy to make and bake. I'm the only one eating gluten free so I usually eat half the loaf and then make bread crumbs with it after about 2 days. GREAT bread crumbs from it...use them ALL the time also. I also like the gluten...
  16. The things I never would have thought of doing had I not had to go gluten free! I never ever would have made my own doughnuts. I used the recipe for gluten-free Favorite Donuts from this site (if you go to site Index and go in gluten free recipes link)...I had to adapt it a little b/c I didn't have some of the ingredients. I made them into donut holes...
  17. I looked it up, I can't see where it says it's a wheat derivative...can you tell me where you found that (I'm looking at my shampoo bottle that has this, hadn't known what it was....)... How do you find out what ingredients ARE wheat and what aren't???? THANKS!!!
  18. I've been there too! It's hard starting out, I just did it a few months ago. I dont' think there's a complete compiled list here. But there are a lot of companys which volunteer this information. I would contact or look at the websites for all your favorite products. I was able to do that when I first started and found out a lot of the things I bought...
  19. When I was single, I'd spend sundays cooking a big meal and pack it up for the week - or a few weeks. One Sunday, I'd make a big pot of spag sauce and a whole lb. of spaghetti. I then would separate it out in meal sized portions in freezer containers and freeze it. I'd also make a chicken and rice dish and do the same. And a stew and do the same...
  20. Thanks for the recipe. I'm not a huge pie person, but my husband is...and he LOVES coconut cream pie...I may try this one! Is it flaky and tender like a real pie crust? I LOVE pop tarts....I'd be curious to see how the PC Pie Tart thingy would work. mmmmm....I do miss cold strawberry frosted Poptarts and a large Coke....breakfast of champions (well...
  21. I just the Carol Fenster one the other day and it was really good. MMMM...Pizza....i may try this one too, just to compare.
  22. Is the dough thick enough toput in a zippy bag and then kind of "pipe out" and bake in bun shapes? Or would it not be as spongy? Could you post the recipe? Thanks. I MISSSSSSSSS Hot Dogs...love em with cheese, spicy mustard and relish.
  23. Ummm....make with the pie crust recipe...please??? I've been looking for one that was a tried and true....if you've got one, you'll be opening a whole lotta doors for me! Well, culinarily speaking.
  24. Media - everybody's home town!!!! I've lived in Paoli, Devon, Malvern, Strafford. I had LOTS of friends who lived in Media. My one Aunt was a waitress at the Town House for many many years. WOW!!! SMALL WORLD!!! I never could understand how Bobby Flay got more popular than Jack...Jack was the one with all the talent!!!
  25. I have been okay at Wendy's...but I also took the time to ask at the one we go to all the time. Thier fryers ARE dedicated. The products that are used for the fries ONLY touch the fries. So at my wendy's I can order an Bunless Ultimate Grill, hold the sauce. USUALLY I get a side salad or Baked potatoe. But once in a while, if it's not crowded and such...
