ARCHIVED Gluten Free/dairy Free Mac A Cheese
CaraLouise replied to Nic's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Another idea is to use "chreese" by Road's End Organics. It is made with lentil and does not taste too much like regular cheese, but it is not bad as a substitute. The website is: www.chreese.com Hope this helps! -

CaraLouise replied to Gerri's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I had elevated liver enzymes before I went gluten free and then after going gluten free they went back down. However, that was about 3 1/2 years ago and then last fall I was having blood work done and they were slightly elevated again. I was working around gluten, but still had a gluten free diet and I am no longer working around gluten. I was wondering... -

ARCHIVED Protestant Communion?
CaraLouise replied to Gaye of PA's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have worked with two churches to serve gluten free communion. One does intinction and for that one they have a separate gluten free plate and cup for dipping the wafer. Also, where the tray is passed, a separate tray with wafers is brought to me and anyone else who wants gluten free. That is a really good idea about baking the bread though! -
I was told by a manager that they rub bacon grease on all their potatoes before baking! (Gross, huh?) So part of your problem could have been from that if you had a potato!

ARCHIVED Hormones And Food Sensitivities, Are They Related?
CaraLouise replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
How did you find out all your food intolerences? Did you do an elimination diet or get tested? I am thinking that I have something else, but I cannot figure out what it is? Is there any that might make your liver enzymes go up and make your muscles hurt when touched? -

I had to quit work a week ago just from being around gluten in the air, even though I was not always back in the kitchen. We made wraps and sandwiches and many other items with gluten in them. I also used gloves anytime I had to touch gluten, but if you are sensitive enough then just being around it will bother you. Hope this helps you!

I was working as a program director at a fitness center and health cafe. In the health cafe we serve sandwiches, soups, wraps, and breakfast items, (almost all with wheat). We also have smoothies with malt powder and cereal in them. My desk was right next to the kitchen and the waffle iron and the soups steam didn't help any. Plus I was required to help...

CaraLouise replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED gluten-free Grocery/food In Orlando?
CaraLouise replied to teamworkjr's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
I went to Disney over Christmas and there is a Winn-Dixie just right outside the property that is really easy to go to. There is a Goodings too, but that particular one is overpriced and does not have a gluten free section. Good luck! -
