Lipoma Or Angiolipomas? Or Lypomas?
cyberprof replied to cyberprof's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
There isn't much info on lipomas, but I got that from the lipomaforum.com Chrissy, does your husband have celiac disease? -
ARCHIVED My Doc Said I Could Cheat....
cyberprof replied to BostonCeliac's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My doc also said I could avoid gluten but not worry about "hidden" gluten like that in soy sauce or vinegar. He said this because 1) My bloodwork was normal on gluten and 2) My villi weren't damaged or flattened, the only evidence was white blood cells etc in my biopsy. He said he was comfortable with the celiac diagnosis only because of my positive dietary... -
Lipoma Or Angiolipomas? Or Lypomas?
cyberprof replied to cyberprof's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Anyone? Ideas? Thanks! -
I was just diagnosed with celiac disease. Last week I had bad pain that I thought was gall bladder pain...NOT. The pain was sudden, something I've never had before. Doctor said I have "several" angiolipomas on my liver and kidney! OMG, I'm worried. (Lipoma is spelled lypoma in Europe.) Lipomas are fatty lumps, bumps and tumors. Anyway, while surfing...

Mayflowers-great name! I too have 25 pounds to lose. I specifically didn't go out and get gluten free foods and have been eating very few refined carbs but it is still hard. I did try gluten free pizza (homemade) this weekend to satisfy my craving. Now I'm trying to eat veggies, fruits and protein with little/no corn, rice or potatoes. May go back...

ARCHIVED Lots Of Questions
cyberprof replied to dublin1's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Sounds very familiar to me, describes my symptoms before diagnosis and going gluten-free. Best of luck to you. I hope your doc gets you the right tests. -
Lisa, I hear you. I am having the same problem. Diagnosed one month ago today. My dietitian said that there are three reasons why it's hard to lose weight: 1) Your metabolism may have been slowed by celiac before diagnosis and that makes it harder to lose weight (suggested lifting weights and more workouts-fun! ) and 2) Since celiac causes malabsorption...

ARCHIVED Off Gluten For Days, Symptom Worse?
cyberprof replied to JennyC's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I am new to this but I would suspect the soy. One of my bad experiences since going gluten free (one month ago today) is from soy. Several people here have said soy is also a problem. You might want to try to avoid it until you've got a handle on the gluten free part and avoiding cross-contamination. Good luck! ~Laura -

ARCHIVED Why Sudden Gall Bladder Pain?
cyberprof replied to cyberprof's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
OK, so I should avoid Amy's and soy. I am going to eat really natural foods and low-fat. My pain is much more of just a small ache today, hopefully going away for good. I was sure that this was related to celiac, but not sure how. Thanks. -
ARCHIVED Why Sudden Gall Bladder Pain?
cyberprof posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi everyone, I hope you can help. I went off gluten on 2/15/07. Am avoiding dairy (except yogurt and a little cheese). Trying to eat well, low-fat. Had 3-4 Lundberg soy chips this week on Tuesday, had a reaction to them (CC? Or just a reaction to soy? Not sure. Label said gluten-free). Wednesday afternoon and evening had bad stomach pain,... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Diet And Pain
cyberprof replied to pyoplasty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
For the two years before diagnosis, I got up every morning and I'd tell my hubby that I felt like I'd been run over by a truck- everything hurt. I also had trouble sleeping and the following every day: mind-racing, heart-racing, dizziness, heartburn, moderate depression and tremendous "fuzzy brain" that made it hard to do my job and be a good mom too... -
ARCHIVED Precious Mozzarella Cheese, Lundberg Bbq Rice Chips, Accumed/kirkland
cyberprof replied to Cynbd's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was diagnosed less than a month ago...and am still figuring things out. A sweet co-worker brought me a bag of Lundberg chips and was so excited. She badgered me into eating two, even though I remembered from this site (or thought I did) that they were questionable. Exactly an hour later, in a board of directors' meeting, I got the "pingpong ball" tummy... -
Hi Heather, I'm really new at this (diagnosed 2/9/07) so I hope others will chime in. You don't say when you were diagnosed and whether or not you've been able to follow a gluten-free diet (or if you've had accidental glutening events). If it is recent, you may just need to give it time. Or if you are still getting some gluten, that could be the problem...

ARCHIVED Celiac And Overweight
cyberprof replied to sweeet-pea's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I was just diagnosed last week, and my dietician said that everyone is different but some people have metabolisms that are slowed by celiac (evindenced by lethargy, tiredness, etc) and that after a celiac diagnosis with the correct foods, one may lose weight because of an increase in metabolism. The other thing she said is that one's body may be holding... -
ARCHIVED Tooth Enamel Question
cyberprof replied to chocolatelover's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes, I have the same question. I was just diagnosed last Monday and I have my 13 year old son signed up for a blood test ASAP. His teeth are stained but I don't know what the "tooth discoloration" description means. Anyone? -
ARCHIVED Sun Neen Figh Lok! - Happy New Year!
cyberprof replied to GeoffCJ's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Happy New Year! I was just diagnosed last Monday and I work for a Chinese-American bank in Seattle. The President always brings in food and I was really stressed because I don't want to tell everyone and also don't want to insult. And I love Chinese food, so I was very tempted. All I could eat was the shrimp balls (shrimp in rice noodles). I was hoping... -
ARCHIVED Snack Ideas To Keep In Classroom
cyberprof replied to hapy4dolphins's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
LARA BARS They are gluten-free, soy-free, added sugar-free, kosher, raw and good. Several varieties including Cherry Pie, Apple Pie, Chocolate Coconut, Cinnamon Roll. They are a mixture of nuts, raisins, fruit, spices. I ate them instead of protein/power bars before I was diagnosed. My teenagers eat them. You can find them at Whole Foods... -
ARCHIVED Do I Have Celiac?
cyberprof replied to cyberprof's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I guess I should have said that I got the blood test when I was still eating gluten. I stopped the same day, after the blood test. Thanks for the response. Any idea about tooth discoloration? What does it look like? -
ARCHIVED Do I Have Celiac?
cyberprof posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Long story. I have felt bad for about two years but chalked my symptoms up to 1) Stress 2) Peri-Menopause 3) Being overweight (BMI 28). Had test for ovarian cancer, thyroid. Both negative. Got bad stomach pain in November and December. Got the worst case of stomach flu ever and went to doc. I thought I had a stomach or esophageal ulcer and doc...
